The Dragon's Covenant (WIP)

Does this mean I’ll have to interact with Zatus, cause I usually just ignore that he exists lol.

Oh my, this update was dope. I nearly threw my phone on wall when it ended . Now I will be checking for the next update every few days.

Yeah, he’ll be part of the MC’s group, but if you’re not interested in him or any other companion, you can pretty much just ignore them lol. There will be choices to let you focus on spending time with whoever you prefer.

I’m really glad you enjoyed it! If all goes well, there should be a smaller update coming soon—it’ll take you up to the point where you can choose which path your MC will follow.

Hello! This is my first time commenting to be honest but I just stumbled on this WIP quite recently and all I have to say is that I absolutely love it so far! The characters, setting, the description of the combat scenes are great! Definitely looking forward to its development :>

New update everyone!

This update adds around 32k words. Initially, it was just supposed to be a smaller update to implement the new stats and reach the point where you can choose your path. But as I was working on it, I felt it would be better to include a few more character interactions… and well, 32k words later, here we are, haha. That’s mostly why it ended up taking a bit longer than planned.

Also, since a few variables and some earlier parts were changed, I recommend restarting the game—especially if you’re romancing Arael and left for Emberford without telling her.

From here, I’ll be focusing on writing the path most people voted for in the poll a while ago: creating your own empire. I’m not sure yet if I’ll finish that route first before moving on to the others, or if I’ll alternate between them a bit. Either way, thank you so much for reading—and sorry again for the wait!

A few more things I wanted to mention:

First, a lot of people have asked about poly routes, so I’m going to try adding some! That said, I want to keep it limited to a few specific pairings. If you have any character combinations you think would make sense for a poly relationship, feel free to suggest them!

On a related note, I’ve also been thinking about letting the MC help set up some of the companions with each other if you’re not romancing them yourself. I’d love to hear your thoughts—should I add this? If so, feel free to leave your suggestions for possible pairings.

Lastly, I’ve created a Ko-fi account where I plan to post some extra content. If you’d like to support me, feel free to check it out! I’m planning to post free content there as well, but I’m still figuring out the best way to balance everything since I’m pretty new to this.
here is the link if you want to check it out:

In any case, thank you all so much for the amazing support! And as always, if you spot any errors in this update, please let me know so I can fix them!

Great update, one of my favorite ifs right now, just wanted to give a headsup theres a bug when talking with walls if recruting cassiel was the right choice.

Thank you! It should be all fixed now.

Arael no longer flees if you decide to continue fighting during the first encounter, am i correct?

I don’t know if it’s a bug or you have decided to withdraw the later scenes. The game ends after the camping scene where you talked to all of your companions and rest for the night.

Yes, now the worst outcome is that she simply doesn’t like you. I had to cut back some of the different paths—it was starting to become too much.

That’s strange. Could you maybe send a screenshot or give a more specific location where this happens?

Ruby and Walls obviously lol

Got this error on the first choice on chapter 2

Maybe the string of choices I made had caused it?

I fought general Vadis
I was neutral with Theressa and wasn’t keen on Ecbert
I didn’t fought Arael
Didn’t took over the Fort
Romanced Arael
Went to Emberford with Arael
Killed my family
Me and Arael stayed, while Walls and Ruby escaped
Accepted Azgor’s transformation
Was cautious during the meeting of both Lyra and Casiel
I let Casiel be when he is observing me and when him and Arael fought.
Talked to all of my companions
Went to sleep. Game ends

I do like the slight changes to the start, but I feel like our character becomes… inconsistent at some parts. Like why would we be bothered about telling the soldiers about Arael if we got into a fight and stayed cagey about our secrets? Why would a max ego and rage character be bothered about a nightmare from killing the siblings, shackled with guilt and weakness?

It know it’s more hassle, but there should be some influence to how the stats effect events or more choices to allow us to stay true to how we’ve shaped the main character’s personality.

Love the story, by the way. It’s just a little thing that bothers me.
