Why can’t we choose our name and gender?
@Beezlebub
Variable gender gets harder to implement well the more personality you give the PC. I’m testing how it goes with this latest version.
The PC name determines more than just the PC’s name and has to fit a certain pattern for story purposes, so having an input isn’t an option.
@CS_Closet The name plays a role in the story? Didn’t know that untill now. In what ways does it affect the story?
@DSeg
Oh, it doesn’t affect stats or anything. It’s going to determine some things about an NPC in Second Edition. For this first part of the game, there’s no real effect other than giving NPCs options on how to address the PC.
@CS_Closet i heard about it i never played it, but very similar is Princess maker i like it in my teens know i couldnt support the diet and the boobs enchancer and make her a whore in a burdel. And the fact she could end like a druggie girl sell her body in a alley. The curious fact is only +12 in japan and China.
I’m glad that our brother isn’t an option even if he’s adopted. I was getting some Onii-chan (from Girlish Love Revolution) vibes from him.
Besides that, I kind of adore this game. Even if its a parody I find the PC perfectly relatable. As a 19 year old girl I say and do a lot of things similar to the PC. I never laughed as hard playing a choice script game than when I read “He murdered my dog and wears the collar as a trophy?” because that us EXACTLY something I would think. I don’t think she’s stupid at all. But I also locked myself in the bathroom at work today and struggled with the door in a similar fashion as the PC sooo…
I don’t think the PC is like the typical otome protag either. They’re usually submissive and never voice their feelings even if doing so would solve like 95% of their problems. The PC may be dense, but she is far from submissive and has plenty of opportunities to voice her feelings.
@Greyjoy “I’m glad that our brother isn’t an option even if he’s adopted. I was getting some Onii-chan (from Girlish Love Revolution) vibes from him.”
Wait, what?
In the dating sim titled Girlish Love Revolution you can date your brother, whom is referred to as Onii-chan. He’s overprotective of the player character to the point of creepyness. He’s also a feeder.
@Greyjoy Degeneracy, degeneracy. And what on Earth is a feeder?
As in feeder and eater?
The protagonist of the game is overweight, partly because her brother dotes on her and encourages her to eat because “your eating face is so cute!! <3” and is against her diet because “you should just stay with Onii-chan” (yes, he calls himself that).
That games is terrible on many levels, but Onii-chan is unnerving even in otome games standards.
So yes, I think we’re all glad the MC’s overprotective brother is not *that* messed up.
Well… that more than adequately answers my question. And on that note: “the abominations and enormities in question remain unpunished not without open danger to the souls of many and peril of eternal damnation.” - Innocent VIII.
@darkstar2101
Exactly.
The same thing kind of happens in SOA where a cousin of the character likes her cousin but they don’t they’re cousins and they think they’re brother and sister. And when the girl finds out she isn’t his actual sister but his cousin she goes after him but the guy is in love with another girl who is being held hostage in a virtual world and in real life is in a coma.
#-o I’d almost forgotten the creepiness that is Onii-chan. Ugh.
Anyway, updated to reflect what I’ve managed to get edited so far. I’ll go back and try to fill in all of those “Under Construction” choices in what’s already up before I start editing the next section of the game.
Out of curiosity, are all of the variants of PC descriptions in the stats page showing up at this point? You should be able to gain thoughtful, humorous, self-reliant, and kindhearted (in place of the neutral “normal”) as part of the main character’s profile text.
Why is there no door #5?
Im starting like this game now i know is a parody but i expect sometime of lesbian creppy ghost with a kimono near a blosom cherry tree, dunno why ,it would be one? :-?
@Dark_Bear2899
“The second floor looks typical, with one closed door to your right, one open door directly in front of the staircase that reveals a closet, and four closed doors spanning the hall to your left.”
Door #5 is the closet.
@MaraJade
Something similar. More like a creepy flower demon in a sundress near the apple blossom trees, but that’s in the spring. Third Edition, at least.
@CS_Closet The lesbian blossom demon could be poisonous ? that would be funny as hell romance someone you are polen alergic , she is a flower that could make good joking innuendo lol. But no otome are perfect with the typical lesbian best friend,
Oh, right…Oops…
