Terra Immortalium (WIP) School for Immortals

When I first saw this thread I thought I was a ripoff of my project. But now that I saw this I would love to see this project unfold I want to support this idea because the plot sounds very interesting.

what is your project then?

ok now that’s basically sounds my idea for my project which I’m about to start soon DAMMIT!!! if you don’t believe me check my forum it is under off-topic for some reason

That would be the god of death! There are actually multiple gods/goddesses of death now, but the original god of death created it as just a place for the dead to relax in peace and to prevent their souls from interfering with the lives of the still-living. As the years went on, the afterlife became more and more complex, shaped by the beliefs of the people and the will of the gods, until it became common knowledge that you wanted to end up in Paradise and not in the Abyss. Reincarnation exists on a case-by-case basis (typically for those who died young), but is overall uncommon.

Awww, tyranny is such a strong word! It’s not their fault they have all that power (Kanye’s Power starts playing somewhere in the world). :stuck_out_tongue: But hey, you become a God, gain enough followers, and you’ll have enough divine power to change and shape the entire world according to your vision! Note that no god has ever successfully overthrown the Creator, although that certainly hasn’t stopped the attempts. >>

Whew, scared me for a second there! I don’t believe there’s anything like TI out there right now although everyone knows that there is no such thing as a true original idea. This is kind of supposed to be a big mash of many different religions and cultures, so inspired by real life, but not real life (I wish we had magic!). Thank you for your support! <3

I’m liking how you’ve described each of these gods and goddesses from all religions are so interwoven but still different.

Goodness it’s been such a long time since I’ve logged back into COG (boy does senior year keep you busy)! But I just had to say that I love this concept @Leopardmoon.

I’m curious what kind of gender and sexual orientation options will be available. And since you’ve already mentioned Yi falling in love with Hengo, I’m wondering if our PC can romance a god as well.

Good luck with school (I’m in my finals period now and should be writing a paper lol)! I look forward to your demo!

I must say, I’m intrigued.

You would think school would get easier, but it doesn’t really! :S One day it will all pay off… (if only there was a real magic school, haha).

While I would like to have all the options, unfortunately my coding skills are rather subpar. :stuck_out_tongue: Attempts will be made for male, female, and neutral (ne/nir as pronouns?) gender options and hetero, homo, bi, pan, and asexual orientations. I should note here as well that after arriving at Imm demigods are gifted with the chance to (or should I say forced to?) change their appearance. Hair color, gender, ornamental wings, etc…planned. We’ll see.

Oh yes, at least a few gods will be romanceable. Idk about during the MC’s time as an Acolyte but definitely as an Adept. Thank you for your support!

Sounds interesting, in my opinion the gods can go f*ck themselves. I should be the only supreme power in the universe NOT them (or the creator).

I just thought of a question, would it be possible to defect to another god if had impressed multiple gods? Just in case it turns out you don’t lile the one you originally chose?

Yesss, this is why I love/need questions from you guys! So much world building to do~

Okay, so when a god is chosen by an acolyte, the choice is made with the understanding that the now Adept will serve that God for all of eternity (unless death/ascent to godhood). Such a choice is not made lightly and acolytes are given time to think it over. However, it isn’t until one becomes an Emissary that the binding “contract” is actually sealed, and as a result, it is possible to “switch” to another god who still desires to have them as a future Emissary of theirs.

Such a switch means being set back however many years, but that’s just a minor issue. The major issue is losing the trust of whatever god was chosen in the first place and forever being a target of their wrath. Therefore, a new binding is not made lightly, and normally only under circumstances in which the feelings of hate (because “dislike” is not strong enough) are mutual between both god and demigod as that would just end in disaster. :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember stories of minor gods being tortured for all eternity and have their power weakened

And I think it would be possible to seal a god’s power, making them weak as any other mortal (their immortality should not be effected tho) but the problem with that is you need to be stronger than said god or team up with someone/something or somehow trick the god ?

P.s I also read other cog games where the gods themselves were sealed kind of like in a deep “sleep” (similar to the titans in Greek mythology)

Like a forbidden ritual ? Maybe the ritual itself will have to be powered by 30 demigod souls ? And it can kill you if done poorly/incorrectly… Of couse you may need the god in a weaken state (or not?)

Yes. The creator should be our target and they better run once I come full force :imp:
