Stats: Their effects in the Story

Greetings,

I have enjoyed both CoV 1 and CoV 2 very much, and thought it would be interesting to share a few observations regarding the stats. To be more specific, to talk about the way they affect the story and the advantages/disadvantages you might gain from having one or another at a certain level.

I don’t know if these work the same way with female characters, but it appears it works more or less the same regardless of the type of male character that you create.

Having said that, these are a few of the things I have been able to notice…

***************************

Money: Above $400,000 (as male)

Ex 1: It appears that if you manage to build enough rapport with Apollo Carothers, and somehow manage to meet her daughter and have her survive the encounter, later on you will get the chance to pledge the money she needs to build a school for the blind. You can even name it after your character.

***************************

Charm: < 3 (as male)

Ex 1: Your character will fail most of his attempts to intimidate, such as when Clotho goes to Babineaux’s house; the footman will not let you pass and you will be forced to reveal your nature tomake him run away.

Ex 2: During the siege of Vicksburg when the patrol finds you feeding, you won’t be able to convince them he’s drunk and they will chase you out.

Charm: 3 (as male)

Ex 1: If Cecyl Lynch pulls out his knife (in the begging of the game), you can intimidate him into putting it away.

Ex 2: When Clotho asks you to attend a family dinner with her, it allows you to move to tears her family when saying grace.

Ex 3: When Clotho goes to Babineaux’s house, it allows you to intimidate the footman into letting you pass.

Ex 4: If you manage to address Cecyl Lynch, and you choose to explain him the 3 rules of vampire society, you Lore will go up by 1 (though it seems this happens even if you don’t address him, you only have to explain the rules properly).

***************************

Perception: 0 (as male)

Ex 1: You won’t get the chance to ask Clotho more questions about the event at Babineaux (location, person she will be channeling, etc).

Perception: 3 (as male)

Ex 1: When you find her after visiting Mr. Hebert, you automatically are able to perceive that she is the person behind the door. No need to free the bound figure or accidently knocking her unconscious.

***************************

Creation: 0 (as male)

Ex 1: Governor Overstreet won’t try to press you to play at the piano during the event where your dominus is named quaestor.

Creation: 1 (as male)

Ex 1: Governor Overstreet will press your character to play at the piano during the event where your dominus is named quaestor, and you will fail epicly.

Creation: 2 (as male)

Ex 1: Governor Overstreet will press your character to play at the piano during the event where your dominus is named quaestor, and your character will avoid embarassment.

Creation: < 3 (as male)

Ex 1: If your character decides to help Apollo Carothers with the reception, he will be displeased or you will only do a bad job at it.

Creation: 3 (as male)

Ex 1: If your character decides to help Apollo Carothers with the reception, he will be astonished at the party you managed to organize.

Ex 1: Governor Overstreet will press your character to play at the piano during the event where your dominus is named quaestor, and your character will dazzle her with the way the piece was played (Achievement).

***************************

Status: 2 (as male)

Ex 1: Will give you the choice of feeding from Jeferson Davis (at Vicksburg)(Achievement).

***************************

Streetwise: 0 (as male)

Ex 1: You won’t be able to find Quaestor Carothers in Memphis, since you will only be looking for him in decent places.

Streetwise: 1 (as male)
Ex 1: Will allow you to find Quaestor Carothers in Memphis, before he finds you (in case that you have to seek him out).

***************************

Willpower: < 3 (as male)

Ex 1: If you play a Choctaw character and governor Overstreet asks you to take Withers to a tour in the city, she will make insulting comments regarding your people; your character will be filled with rage and will draw out his fangs, forcing Withers to use her paralyzing gaze on you. She will keep insulting you and your tribe while you’re paralyzed.

Ex 2: When attempting to stop your quastor from having Clotho being bit by Jesee, you won’t be able to move, and will be forced to watch her die.

Willpower: 3 (as male)

Ex 1: When attending the family dinner with Clotho, it will allow you to eat their food without vomiting.

Ex 2: When attempting to stop your quastor from having Clotho being bit by Jesee, you won’t be stopped by his paralyzing gaze; instead forcing him to stop you through brute force.

Ex 3: If you play a Choctaw character and governor Overstreet asks you to take Withers to a tour in the city, she will make insulting comments regarding your people; you will be able to supress your anger and continue the tour.

***************************

So far, that’s what I am able to remember, do any of you have similar observations?
