I’m a bit disappointed that Charlotte isn’t RO. But also really happy that we get to romance Matthias hehe. I look forward to MC’s future interactions with him.

It is kind of an inside joke where the author keeps revealing the identity of the secret ro but each time it’s a different character. 
(i think the identity of the secret ro is still … a secret)

I’m afraid it’s going to be a bit of a wait—Merrow first appears in Chapter IV. The next present day chapter, III, will introduce Kira.

I legitimately think this is one of the best interactive fiction games I’ve ever seen. The way your relationships with certain characters change scenes and dialogue is amazing and the characters themselves are oddly loveable even through all the unfortunate circumstances and unpleasant attitudes. I would’ve sworn that I’d hate Charlotte, just based on her description alone, but surprise surprise!! I literally love her, and same with Callum! I don’t even care that they’re mostly awful, they’re MY mostly awful assholes and they deserve better. The worldbuilding is another wonderful element here, I read everything about magic in the in-game books without skipping over any of it and it felt so real?? If that makes sense? Another thing is that people’s personalities actually make a difference!! Don’t get me wrong I like the ‘unconditional love’ RO’s, but it’s so refreshing how there’s characters who aren’t meant to be fixed and can just not like it if you’re overly brutal or forever forgiving (or afraid of spiders, i died seeing that she genuinely lost respect for my MC 
). The flashbacks are so well done I swear I teared up, I don’t know how to tag spoilers so I won’t go into it but just know that even in just references to the festival and the finale™ I was ufdbegishw tears because I could feel the terror sinking in and how horrifying experiencing all that must be especially when you’ve got to deal with all that from you know who (Callum). Valerie is also adorable and I’m strong arming every single one of my MCs into protecting her impulsive ass and helping her out. I honestly didn’t even interact the much with the other RO (did one playthrough then came straight here to sing your praises lmao) but I will be going back to see if there’s something I missed with him because clearly I’m okay with self assured bastards!
Overall an interesting concept, with an easy to read composition, believable dialogue/trails of thought for the MC and major characters, three realistic and heartbreaking backstories (Yeah I know they’re interconnected but they feel separate especially when the trio all have differing opinions and drives, AND there’s the really awkward engagement-infatuation dynamic), with great characters in general and a lot of deep diving into their personalities addressing how they think and respond to certain personalities/responses from the player. Even though it’s a demo it’s better than a lot of the popular completed hosted/cog games.
TLDR: I love everything about this game and I’ll crumble to actual dust if it doesn’t get more popular. I’d pay you with my whole first paycheck if I could.
I’m like 76% sure I’ve never written any kind of review in here so sorry if I did it wrong but like. Come on. This thing DESERVES pages of appreciation.

Man oh Man, I can’t wait for more. I NEED to know what happens with Charlotte. Though I read some of the demo a while back, This is my first time reading since the update and I found myself so engrossed; I truly forgot that it was a WIP.

Quick progress update.
If you’ve been around since the beginning, you’ve probably noticed that updates have been much less frequent than they were back in 2020 when I started this thread. This is intentional—after catastrophically burning myself out in August of that year, I’m making a conscious effort to not repeat the same mistake.
This means I’m less likely to take a big, long, years-long break like I did last time, but it also means individual updates will sometimes take longer to be released. Progress has been slow these past couple months, so unfortunately this is one such time.
Hoping to update at least once before the end of summer, but as always, no promises.

so i just got around to reading this demo, and i’m wondering what do you pick to unlock this option?
That option is only selectable for MCs whose ‘Mundane’ stat is equal to or above 65, so it’s only available if you’ve picked the “ew magic icky, mages EVIL” options beforehand

loved reading this SO much, I devoured the whole thing in one sitting, can’t believe you would inflict this cliffhanger upon me dear author 
I just have to say I love how you write characters they all seem so believable and authentic, my faves until now are actually the parts with Callum and Charlotte because there is just so much history between those characters and MC and you convey that part so well also they are both just delightful little shits
Can’t wait for more updates keep up the good work and don’t stress yourself!
