Slammed! (Spoilers)

@Fairygodfeather
Pretty much any betrayal plot twist. I also did not see the Alex plot twist coming at all :b
Also Evans special workout line had me giggling to myself :V

is there no way we can screw alex over.

OMFG best CoG moment ever: “I’ll give you one free shot, girly!”
Hm… think I’l go with…
Cross.
Effin.
Cutter.

Tell me you weren’t grinning like a goon when you wrote that.

could somone tell me all the romanceable npc is it only three?

@djma46 I don’t think there’s a way to directly screw Alex over. Indirectly, she wouldn’t be happy if Solitary wins, but you never really get to see her response to that, from what I remember.

@Reclaimer Yeah that’s a crowning moment of awesome.

@DJMA46 There’s JJ, E. Ecstasy and Madison Rio. There’s also technically a guy right at the start who you can give your number to, and that woman in the audience you can flirt with but those are brief interactions so don’t really count.

Oh I begged @Chikiamco to make Solitary available. (Okay I may have just made a brief comment) but he wasn’t having any of it.

I’m probably being dumb for asking but is there a way to save JJ and still have a championship match? I have a feeling there isn’t.

Also, what do you have to do to beat the champ fairly? I got myself knocked silly. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think there is, Haha, to either of your questions.

Thematically, the match against Solitary mirrors your match to JJ at the beginning: You can either throw the match to avoid taking advantage of a weakened opponent, or take advantage of their pride and beat the snot out of them. I mean it even gives Solitary a bad leg in that confrontation, can’t be any less subtle than that.

As for Alex, I didn’t see her as obsessed with control, but with success, and money is how you count success, manipulating things was how she strove to accomplish that, not an end to itself. If she thought that Prototype wresting the championship from Solitary could have hurt the federation, I feel she would have gritted her teeth and endured Solitary’s contract.

If Solitary had played ball and participated in storylines instead of just beating the snot out of everyone, I don’t think Alex would have been scheming against him.

Can someone give me a walkthrough on the important parts to get the JJ Romance ending? I’ve been getting it wrong and I want to see all the sexual tension get resolved haha.

That said, I really do love this game. Can’t say I’m much of a boxing fan but I really feel it was done well and plus I learnt some technical boxing terms.

@Dooly There’s a bug that interferes with the JJ romance ending currently. I think it’s only on one of the routes. You might be able to get it if you go the kayfabe heel path in dealing with JJ although I’m not sure. I’d check the code but my eyes aren’t making sense of code currently. I’d wait until the bug gets fixed.

p.s. It’s wrestling not boxing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol ugh, I’m not with it today at all! :frowning:

I’ll try again with the Kayfabe Heel path but it’s not like it’s a chore since the game itself really is fun and well-written.

@Dooly The bug seems to be limited to a specific path – namely, doing the Kayfabe Face route with a character who is not attracted to women. The “love” variable in that instance lists you as in a kayfabe romance, and while someone who’d theoretically be attracted to Madison gets the chance to set the flag back to “none”, it’s not present for those who wouldn’t see her as a prospect anyway.

So, unless I’m reading the code wrong (entirely possible), you can reach the JJ romance via the real face and heel paths, as well as the kayfabe face route IF the character is attracted to women (hetero male or homosexual female).

Thank you for the help, guys! <3

@Chikiamco You can’t reach the JJ romance if you’re a male attracted to women, since isn’t JJ always the same gender that you are, and the other flag the romance path checks is if you’re homosexual.

@FairyGodfeather Whoops, yeah. So basically it’s the homosexual male Kayfabe Face path to the JJ romance that’s borked.

Final results after my first play through…

Noticed an error if you discover that Sunshine is the saboteur, you still get the scene where you get accused and Ectsasy rises to your defense.

Also got an error at the end in which my rank is only number 2 despite having just beaten Prototype to become the grand champion.

@stsword If you list those errors over at www.choiceofgames.com/forum/discussion/2273/slammed-typos-and-bugs-thread it’ll keep them all in the same place.

One thing I’d have liked to have been able to do was have the option to reveal the accident during the pre-fight interview maybe something like this…

"A few years ago me and JJ was scheduled for a college match. The night before I was driving with him in the passenger seat, I lost control and crashed. JJ injured his leg but still went to compete. My heart wasn’t in it I wanted us on equal ground not like this.

I regret my actions and how we never had that fight. A regret I intend to rectify at Last Man Standing."

This is a really great game, and very well written one at that. First let me say I am a big wrestling fan, just as much as the main characters and do have a lot of knowledge of backstage politics both on and off camera. The game really nailed how its usually the Father that gets the daughter into it. I know when I was a young girl my father was the one who got me into it, back in the cartoony 80s and all the other girls I know into it has similar stories of how they came into enjoying it. Good job there, very realistic.

This truly is the only wrestling themed game I’ve played that pretty spot on nail wrestling. I really love how Alex Dobbs especially nails Stephanie McMahon (Daughter of Vince and Linda). Also I really enjoyed the JJ thing.

The one thing that really disappointed me however, is it seems to not wrap things up. What I mean by this is even if you get the match against JJ at RoV, there does not seem a way to go on and finish things up with the World Champ at the next PPV. I think it really should have ended with the big title match regardless of the JJ storyline.

I does make me hope there will be a sequel or at least a update to truly finish off the beginning of the players career. This would still leave room open in the future for a sequel if that is wanted dealing with the players life as the champion and the politics that entails and such.

It just feels incomplete if you try to play the game the way it seems structured to be played, IE having that fated JJ seemingly blocking you off from final closure for the Heavyweight belt.

on my 6th Play-through right now i think, gone both male and female, heel and face and i know i still haven’t gone through all the possibilities…
sure I’ve beaten all 3 of them in the end, but it’s in the middle there are so many choices that go in different directions…
like after you get kicked out, what do you do and where do you do?
there’s what, 8 different choices here??
going home, working as a waiter, a trainer a masked wrestler and so on…
and this is just one of many places there are this flood of possibilities…

only frustrating part about these many possibilities are the lack of a back button and that they are located a hour into the game…
of cause only reason it’s a little frustrating is that everything in this game is so well written I want to read every single line of it
so i guess my biggest complaint is that the writing is so amazing that i want to read it all and yet still feel like there are things that elude me
but then again i might be a little CDO (the way it’s meant to be spelled, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER!!! ) with these things when i truly love and enjoy them

also thanks for clearing up the problems with the JJ storyline…
i really thought there was no way to get a romance with JJ despite the foreshadowing at the very start with MC being totally into him/her
guess I’m having another play-through after this one…
