Showdown at Willow Creek

Oh twenty minutes on a second playthrough isn’t so bad. I find on subsequent playthroughs I play much faster. I often don’t read the text, especially if it looks like something I’ve already read. I generally have to slow down my reading for first playthroughs otherwise I’ll skim and miss things, so the taking of notes helps me.

I think the game is, at least, somewhat replayable, and while short, I didn’t find it too short. When I played the beta I was shocked with how soon the end came, but that’s partially because I missed a chunk out of the last chapter, and I wasn’t expecting things to end.

It wasn’t bad. I just don’t think it was good. If it was bad I would have returned it. Still, I look forward to more games with a western feel. That is one era I think you could really focus on the romance and get some sizzling storylines.

@Scrivener. And that is precisely my sentiment. It feels like this should be downloadable content to a larger story.

I liked it, but I like most westerns regardless of actual quality. I liked how the Native Americans were portrayed especially. Not savage, not mystical, just people who’d been given a bad shake. I also liked the romance options, even if they could have been fleshed out a lot more. You had a scoundrel, a super polite black cowboy, a half native prostitute, and then your boss, and all of them had different dynamics, which is neato.
