Haha I found it again, didn’t help that I forgot title, wow the way you describe scenes and events drew me back in again, look forward to release, I assume when you say complete demo there will be no more added to this, or will you still make edits?
Thank you! I’ll probably be making minor tweaks to it until the full game is released, if I’m honest with myself, but that’ll be bugfixes and spellchecking/typos, consistency stuff etc. All the content is now there, I won’t be adding any further chapters to it.
In that case I look forward to release, think I will read this again and take a peak at the stats, been to in to the story to check character stars
Typing on my mobile, it auto correct is to aggressive sometimes other time it ignores typoes
Wow! This was really great, like I’m genuinely finding myself looking forward to playing the full thing. Guess all I can do now is wait, and hope that I won’t lose my mind from the waiting before the actual thing is released
Wow, this was really great!
But after reading the demo, I’m kinda torn between ‘too short it’s confusing’ and ‘too short it was an awesome teaser’.
I mean, I get that you want things to be mysterious (and they definitely are!), but I’ve read a few published games recently that were so concerned about setting up a sequel they forgot to give us a satisfying game. Haha
Still, this was a great demo. Major props to you.
Thank you! fingers crossed, the wait won’t be too tortuous!
see, this is interesting because I feel like like it’s pretty long for a demo? and while I realise there’s not a huge amount of setup in terms of plot, there are several routes, a couple of which will give far more information about the direction of the story. Sentinel is very much designed as a standalone story (never say never, but I prefer writing standalones) and I’m predicting that it’s going to end up being quite long, and hopefully satisfying - but as a result, certain routes will be much slower-burn than others, hence the admittedly slightly odd pacing of the demo.
Thanks for reading, and thank you for your feedback!
While I’m here, for anyone who’s interested, Sentinel now has cover art! I’ll need to tweak the size of it when the time comes to submit, but for now, here it is.
Really liked the demo! The story is mysterious so it picks my interest. If it’s possible can you give a description about the ROs?
I’d like to say something the Killer what you got the idea of making the Killer did you get it from a book or an actual person like Jack the Ripper
nyehilism writing: Could you post the RO descriptions to tumblr? - at some point I’ll add these to the original post since this is the question I get asked most frequently lmao, will have to wait till I’m not at work though.
I’m not sure what you mean? The name ‘strigoi’ is from Romanian folklore, it’s a vampire-esque spirit and the reason I chose that name would be a spoiler but suffice to say, there is a reason. If you mean is the killer based on something irl or from a book the answer is no. If I’ve completely misunderstood you, just let me know, sorry!
No it’s okay I’m sorry for my terrible English
No need to apologise! thank you for engaging, I’m just sorry I didn’t answer your question (and feel free to keep asking if you have more!)
Played the demo yesterday, gonna play some different choices/routes the next coming days. Expect me throwing money at this game when it’s published!
I loved the demo.
What is our power
Really enjoyed the demo!! Cant wait to play the full game
your power varies depending on which skill is highest and on your introspective/reflective stat. where the power comes from is a spoiler that’ll be answered ingame
thanks for reading, everyone!! glad you enjoyed it
Weeell then, now that was interesting. Honestly, I’m a bit mindblown right now. I tend to do very lenghty feedbacks for game WIPs, but I don’t have much to say here. I loved it.
And wow, that’s a lot of chapters for a demo! May I ask the total amount of chapters you’re planning to do, if that was just a demo? At least more or less. Or if you prefer, the percentage of story covered by the demo. I’m curious about the lenght I am to expect for the finished game.
You made me do two things I very rarely do in games, so congratulations! First is making me love and want to romance a “childhood friend” - I really hate childhood friend romances usually! And second is the fact I actually played the main character as very unexpressive, and that’s veeery rare for me to.
I’ll be waiting for updates / the full game very eagerly!
wow, thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it, really appreciate the kind words💖 and I’m glad you got to explore playing a new type of character, I try to make the personality options as distinct and interesting as possible.
As to your question about length, I have 21 chapters and an epilogue planned in my outline (the demo is 6) but I am notoriously bad at sticking to outlines when it comes to writing. I would say the demo is probably a quarter to a third of the total story, but that’s an estimate. I also am prone to adding in non-plot relevant scenes (romance and friendship stuff) on impulse so it might turn out longer than planned.
Yay, long story!
Don’t worry, I’m awful at keeping with my outline lenght when I work too, even though I make comics and work on visual novels, instead of interactive books. But well, that aspect is the same. Still, knowing you have 21 chapters + epilogue planned allows me to have an estimate lenght, even if it changes a bit. Well, unless you suddenly decide to add an entire book, of course
But yeah, the game is really refleshing to me, since I have a character that’s quite different from my usual comfort zone. But that felt really natural in this story.
As far as characters go, well, I like them all so far (and it’s nice to see a changeling in a story!). Though as you probably figured out, Shaw is by far my favorite.
