@Mydoghasfleas Try this thread, you are having the same problems I had. Try it in the order I have it right now and if you are confused by the first two the third one is my summary of them both.
EDIT: The currently shipped version of compile.html in recent builds should work fine, there’s no to download the above version unless you’re having problems.
Look in your game’s top directory where the test files and the like are: (Non-transferable image)
Replace the current compile.html with the one you just downloaded (very important!).
Open your new compile.html in Firefox, after a variable amount of time (not too long though) you should see something similar to the following: (non-transferable image)
As instructed, download the file. That file should be a .html file and it should be a working copy of your game.
Upload this new mygame.html file to dropbox (doesn’t matter where).
Once it’s uploaded you need to obtain the sharing link, the method for which varies slightly depending on whether you do it through dropbox.com or the dropbox application.
Once you have the link (it should look something a little like the one below)Dropbox - mygame_complete.html - Simplify your life
Replace “www” with “dl” and “dropbox” with “dropboxusercontent”, like this:
My First ChoiceScript Game
–
There you have, did that make sense?I’m sorry it’s not a bit easier, but it’s the best I can do right now.I did try and make some changes to the compile file that would allow it to be uploaded to Dropbox and give you the link automatically, but the API doesn’t want to work locally
I clicked on this link:
CJW:
In English: Basically try replacing your version of compile.html with this one: Dropbox - compile.html - Simplify your life
selected "download"once downloaded i clicked “show in folder” and got it in my download folder renamed to "compiler"i click on that and it brings me to this which is clicked “compile” and click on “here”
(Non-transferable image)
then i click "open with firefox"and a working copy of my game appears. My computer also downloads the file into my temporary folder. i move the file into my dropbox. I right click and select “copy dropbox link”
here it is: Dropbox - Error - Simplify your life
change it like you said: IT WORKS!
or: https://di.dropboxusercontent.com/s/sn1ry9k0o8rp16s/Kingdom%20Life.html?dl=0
Tell me what i did wrong or if it works for you!
Explaining the last part of my post. Someone had said they changed the dl to di or something and it worked so I tried that. Also in the “IT WORKS!” Part I had something that looked like My First ChoiceScript Game But I deleted it and replaced it with “IT WORKS!” Because people were trying it and I didn’t want people to try my demo at that time.
Hope that helps. In the future if you have problems a quick search at the top of your screen tend to give good results.
