I played the end of chapter 8 and the beginning of chapter 9 multiple times. Iām still not happy with any outcome.
Thatās by design. While there is a hyper-specific way to have your cake and eat it, I wanted to ensure that first-time players face an actual dilemma at that point in the story. The chapter isnāt called āJanusā for no reason.
Iām not sure the game realized that I wanted to spare Crystal. That it was my decision to risk the deal with the federation to protect the universe from Dusk.
I believe it didnāt. The story does have lines for outcomes where Crystal was spared intentionally, but I think you did it so subtly even the game didnāt realize what was up. Iāll tweak the conditionals eventually.
ā āāWhatever happens, know that Iām with you. And that I enjoyed being your friend.āā
Boyfriend?
That line was addressed to both Damon and Hadaly, so āfriendā fits even if the player romanced one of them. The real problem is that there isnāt much damon-specific romance dialogue, whichāas I mentioned earlierāIām currently working on.
Does Kirill have no layout from the power plant? Are there no fire escape plans hanging? I think it is no mystery where the center of the plant is.
I didnāt mean to imply that āthe centerā was particularly important. As far as the team is concerned, Da-xia could be in any random room, as long as its connected to the power grid somehow. They donāt even know sheās in the same room as the artifact, just kind of assume so. I did not address whether Kirill has building plans because it doesnāt terribly matter.
Also⦠knowing the Conglomerate, fire escape plans just instruct workers to soak themselves with water and run at the fire to put it out, so thereās that.
My goal now would be to steal the book, because I do not trust the federation enough.
Thatās an interesting idea, but the only ending where the book doesnāt explode requires some fairly specific conditions to be met. Originally, I was not even going to include it, I just thought the player might feel cheated without it. I doubt Iāll add more branches to it, since it would mean lots of extra work for little actual gain.
