In this book ronin is even allowed one (1) positive thought about themself if the player chooses so. We are getting out of the depression with this one.

Also I think I get how the Masa romance is supposed to work. Still won’t do it, but at least it does kind of work.

I enjoyed this chapter! I find Masa a more interesting character than our ronin, so I enjoyed getting to play as them and getting some insights on their background and experiences. I also just generally enjoy the whole high society school shenanigans as a trope. It was a fun diversion.

Great book, but How dare you end it there?!!

'Tis one of the few series(?) I’m eager to read. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it’s nice to have more information on shugenja, the ronin’s employer, and matters of the spirit. I’m grateful for the pricing, and admittedly as antsy for a sequel as I was when I finished book 5. Naturally, I’ll have to wait patiently for more. Thanks for the experience.

Was there a change made to the momoko hotspring scene in book 5?

Arghhhh the ending :sob: why would you torture me like this :sob: I have to wait years again :sob::sob::sob::sob:

Regardless, this is a really fun book. I enjoyed it very much. Though I really want to meet and have a banter with them again (I don’t know how to use the spoiler so I just opt to not mention who ).

Thank you for all your hard work, I can’t wait for the next book. Please stay healthy and congratulations for this release:clap::clap: but seriously…I kinda hate you because of the ending :sob::sob::sob:

We all (especially MC) needed to relax a little and remember that most important in life is desire, faith and love.
And also this was so funny, so incredibly funny

As per usual even though its my least favorite entry, I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

The only gripe I have os our character just never stays mad about their circumstances. In 5 you can snap at Toshi for the MC only being a “Sword” to her and the employer. But then immediately back peddles. And in 6

Summary

Its like theyre just slowly becoming chill with their task they have. So we’re losing almost all options to become or stay angry. :face_with_diagonal_mouth: Which is BIT OF A SHAME since we just had ALL of 5 of Junko calling us a “dog of the emperor”, and if you go through the romance and agree with her. It feels DOUBLE weird that we cant be genuinely angry, since we could have chose the “start a family” route.

And then after 5, you’d think that’d be a wound that wouldnt have just glazed over so soon. Always enjoyed that we could be sassy and spiteful to the job and the emperor, sometimes Toshi since she’s our “handler”. But now it seems like we’re being SLIGHTLY railroaded into just dealing with it and being nice.

So all in all, it just feels like that no matter what choices any of us actually make through the first 5 at 6 its like its trying to cram us to fit a mold. After which the only unique between any of our created Ronin will be their spirit animals

Also side note edit: Didn’t like all of 4 or 5 pretty much explain that Jigoku Ittō-ryū and anything involving the path of spirit use are just polar opposites? So essentially to be able to use one means the other should have a harder time using? Did we find like some sort of harmony between the 2? Cause all Junko said to us was “To use it is to take” or to be “hungry”. Then all of a sudden we had a brain blast, and could just whip out both. I MEAN, NOT GONNA LIE, IT WOULD BE HARDCORE AS HELL if we had like a path of the spirit in the game and like “path of the demon” separately.

That was surprisingly nod as bad as I thought it would be. It’s far from my least favorite in the series but I’m still not a fan of the premise. All that being said, learning more about the spirits and the heavens was definitely interesting. And it confirms some theories I already had. At last count this just leaves one of the emperor’s remaining six to deal with but it seems like that’s just not the primary issue now and there’s bigger shit to deal with. I’m also starting to believe that yeah, the Jun/ko family subplot is a red herring. Pretty effective one, too

Edit: what I did absolutely like was how atunement was handled in this game. Realizing just a few chapters in how the mechanic worked, and then working on keeping it balanced without feeling the need to constantly check the stat screen every 20 seconds

As usual. I love the way you write. It was great, im so happy you’re not an “everyone must be squeaky clean for everyone’s mental health” kind of author.

Personally, i find stories which are afraid of controversy very boring and devoid of life, I firmly believe in letting authors just write what feels true to character for the people in the book and not let outside opinion color it. I was so proud of the ronin at the tail end there for the possible change in perspective

I love how more lighthearted (?) this book was, at least compared to the others. Being in masashi’s world was pretty fun and Lord knows the ronin needs to experience that typical normal teenage life even if just for a blip.

Also as much as i feel sympathy for Jun, I feel like that was a pretty good cut off point for them.

Jeez the ronin is such a hot commodity! Lol im excited about the kohaku/toshio/masashi dynamic next! I need the next book so bad already!

I enjoyed the book! It’s nice to return to roots with the attachment and bad endings. Guess the school is about to start a ronin fanclub lol. Although… there were a lot of female crushes. No strapping young men to lust after my ronin only shogi nerds  Alas. Not too fond of the emperor, he better pay us, I wasn’t going to tell tosh about hashimoto but I was fine with the ronin becoming the samurai of hyuga until KOHAKU ohhhhhh my god. Why.

I played with the code to go back and forth from mc being in love with jun/junko to not because I wanted that complicated relationship. I think it would make more sense if Jun/junko summoned themselves instead of us having poor judgement but then again its not too off brand.

Recommendations for the author: Maybe have both options with Jun/ko available if we picked it’s complicated. Have the npcs react like we loved them until we correct them. And hopefully have a shujenga learn healing because our friends need saving :sob: :sob: :sob: poor Nishi!
