Mine is the Wild Boar. I just love the brutality it adds to my brutal Ronin. The scenes with the Boar make my Ronin more badass then he already is

Mine’s Striped Snake and I LOVE it. I trust her (sorry it’s really weird for me to refer to animals as “it” when in Spanish they have gender) with my life. I only have one playthrough for now so that’s my only animal. Finesse all the way

Mine is the Akita Inu (because I am a sucker of dogs and I could not resist it), and my second ronin is the chipmunk.
But seriously thouugh, when we are having the confrontation with the Kitsune and I have a sea of akitas jumping to me, throwing me to the floor and liking me I could of die from cuteness.

You’ve made me want to make a new ronin just to pick the Wild Boar now. I love those Brutal scenes so much I don’t think I could ever play a finesse ronin. Nothing like shattering a smug samurai’s jaw to feel like a badass

But stumbling across this image definitely gave me my ronin Emiko and Masashi vibes.
I also envision Emiko being a mixture of Unohana and Kenpachi from bleach.
I feel like those two characters are very reminiscent of my ronin’s past, present, and future.

By the way, do you guys have any favorite scenes so far in book 3?
My top favs has to be: Hatch calling out my female ronin on being a ‘pure maiden.’ He KNOWS. Man, that just cracks me up. The mention of sleeping with the Baron in there was a nice touch as well, lol. I definitely liked the funny light-hearted scenes with the kid; like expecting some shugenja backup with Daisuke, but getting Masashi hungrily stuffing his face with rice balls instead, haha. Or unknowingly giving the kid ‘the shivers’ in their impromptu writing lesson, lol, poor Masashi. Hatch acting serious af at the waterfall, but still getting a nosebleed cuz of our ronin, was everything for a Hatch shipper like myself. 
And, okay, it’s more like an option, but I loved the “Nice try, I’m still illiterate.” line sooo freaking much? I feel like the list of things I liked could go on, but I’m just gonna stop myself there.

For Book 3, the guy is definitely Toshio. I won’t spoil who the woman is, but you met her towards the end of Book 1. Foul-mouth, kanabo, and a yakuza tattoo.

Does completing the first two books give a bonus to the fox demon ending or the whole game itself?
Not that I can think of other than the shaping of your ronin and their choices. Also it is good to read the first two to know where the story is coming from in book 3.And they are both good books.

No, still same no matter what. The only difference is you have predetermined choices in book 3…and everything is confusing.

Not quite! This is not important, but I’m not sure if many people know about it: by choosing certain names in Book One, you get small stat bonuses.
These bonuses are, of course, unimportant and won’t really affect your game - but they’re a delightful little addition, and include a lovely hidden message from the author, along with custom nicknames for most of them! Details here:

I’m sure plenty of people encountered these by accident already - as people mentioned above, gotta be a lot of ‘Mugen’ and ‘Jin’ ronins knocking about. Extra little things like this, though - really shows the Author’s love and passion for their own work. I know it’s not a new thing, but damn me I’m impressed every time.
To complete the Mugen and Jin trio above… I’ve just played the trilogy through as Fuu. Man, it is hard to be a friendly, peaceful ronin!

Sorry chief, there’s no stat bonuses for the default-listed names such as Rin 
They’re really just for flavour though, the bonuses won’t affect anything unless you’re balancing your stats very close to 50% and need to tip one of them over.

I play the chivalrous, finesse, calculated ronin with chipmunk this is kind of helpful for boosting those stats when i choose to be a crazed ronin instead of being peaceful.

My Ronin has all blue stats at more than 50% except for charming. She has the firefly as her spirit animal. She probably the few Ronin with these stats. And Book 3 was most heart wrenching with playing these type of MCs. Dx
I really can’t play a brutal ronin though. Maybe one of these days when I create another Ronin.
