I think it’s all within one year - when you meet Emperor Satsuma in Book One, he says:
“There are about to be great changes in this Empire. My wedding is scheduled for the end of the harvest, when the sign of the Lion is highest in the sky. From then the scales will pour over into our favor, but only for a year’s time. This mission must be fulfilled during this period…otherwise, Hyuga is doomed.”
So I guess we’ll take a year to finish our six targets, and there’ll be some kind of final event afterwards to finish the year?

DAYYUMMMM I’m getting like legit scared tho. Errybody be saying that, and Devon on his website said it was a change in phase and tone for the series. I have no idea what that means and I’m honestly afraid to find out. I thought this series was going to be action packed and humorous and now ppl say they’re crying with feels and my face is like 
From what I have played of the first 6 chapters, I already thought I screwed up when I saw ‘ENDING: SERVITUDE’ and I was like ‘WHAT I THOUGHT MY ATTUNEMENT WAS GOOD’. If this is a precedent, I think I’m going to spend tomorrow alternating between howling and screaming.

@shettiejw i wont spoil yet but yah the change of tone can be jarring for some ppl i found it idk refreshing in a really bittersweet way just be prepared xD honestly i am still on the fence i love it but i also am a bit iffy about it as well lol
My only problem with this book is that I absolutely hate the use of This trope in any form of storytelling: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BroughtDownToNormal It just frustrates the heck out of me.

@Hauntmachine same! Was absolutely frudtrated especially since that was one of my fave things about the ronin in the story… but im homestly excited to see what happens in book 4!!! And how theyll make a comeback from this <3

I am screaming… I am SCREAMING!!! I have discovered how in tune I actually am with my character! …I can’t recall how many times I’ve gone back and restarted because I didn’t trust the choice I WANTED to make.
But, more importantly!!! I restrained myself from kissing Toshio! Don’t ask me how, but I did! I was so tempted, though, let me tell ya! But, I have eyes for Masashi! Trust me, I had EVERY urge to dip that shinobi and smooch them like there’s no tomorrow! …in fact, I think I will! I mean… not for my FINAL run through of this book. I still want to end up with Masashi. But… but Toshio’s practically BEGGING me to smooch him! Since the tea house?! Seriously, sweetie?! Don’t do this to my heart, Tosh! You’re my second favourite RO!
Although, now that I think about it… Toshio being in love with the protagonist makes his reaction to the ronnin being Marked for Death so much more understandable. Damnit, my heart…

Same thing happened to me. Mine also went directly to sleep but I still got that.
