Right? Excellent reflection of just how much unrestrained gambling ruins people’s lives
Pro-tip? Try rolling with it rather than save-scumming. It’s still possible to finish the game if you go broke at that stage, but it changes things quite a bit. There’s a whole new level of challenge in the game if you try to finish the competition when you’ve blown all your money in Chapter 3, and suddenly every penny counts!
The funny thing is that I was already carrying trade goods at that stage anyway so I just shuffled around the sales a bit and there wasn’t much lost. I just found the casino system to be a very tedious and frustrating affair overall.
I am at the puzzle with plates in the Endgame, could someone tell me which should I step on? I have no idea and there doesn’t seems to be any hints in there.
There’s definitely a hint. It’s the plaque with the tree. Now, how do you get to “tree” with the plaques you can step on?
Thanks. I was too impatient and missed the tree mention.
Is there a puzzle guide for relics 1?
Not really, no. First one doesn’t really have that many puzzles, anyway, just the bulls, horns and the clock.
Wow, this might be one of the best Choicescript games I’ve played, and I’ve played a LOT. I love how the options are almost always in line with different approaches to solve the same problems. That seems to be the thing a lot of authors fail to do - instead making the error of deciding on the “best” path and then presenting a bunch of other less good choices, which is how the old CYOA books of my childhood worked.
I just wish I could have gotten Maria into bed
Oh thank you, I’m so glad you liked it!
Hey, if this is your ambition, then I strongly suggest that you investigate the sequel, Relics 2: The Crusader’s Tomb. M gets bumped to RO status in that game!
You can get farther with Maria in the rest of the trilogy.
Well, that’s the best news I’ve heard this month! I finish a game thinking I’ll be waiting years for a sequel and it’s already out!?
The pain of Golden Rose and Fallen Hero withdrawal is cured! For now.
The third and final one’s also been finished and submitted to HG, and should be getting released in the not-too-distant future, so hopefully you won’t have to wait too long to complete the series, if you decide you want to!
Diving in for my first go with this series and I really enjoy it so far!
However, can somebody please let me know if investing in Fortune will allow me to purchase better quality equipment for my adventures, or is it just a clout and lifestyle thing that won’t affect my rations and gear? Because if it is just flavour text, then I’m going for the impoverished Good Samaritan route. Cheers!
It’s mostly flavor text, but it might affect what ultimate outcomes are available to you in Book 3, and there are a few occasions (especially in Book 2) when you can use your wealth to get things done if you’re rich.
For reference, I went the impoverished good Samaritan route and, while there were places where a higher Fortune stat would’ve made things easier for me, I never hit a point where I was “no money, no way”. This may possibly vary due to what stats, specialty, and personality traits you go with, though.
Ay anyone know how to get objection achievement?
At the museum, the hail Satan thing was suspicious, at the police station, the ledger with the names were suspicious
Nothing about the situation should be seen as funny, and this game is still hosted on HG so it’s normal to have it left open unless it’s pulled off topic with comments like this.
Ive played this game 4x and found all those you mentioned (for the quote me on that and the five lines achievement) and “I’m Mickey Mouse” is another and STILL havent gotten it. Did i get a glitch!?!?
Also I am forced to play the stand alone app of this game and not through Hosted Games because I keep getting an error that I’ve contacted them about and after 10 emails, NO ANSWER. I am frustrated.
