So um. I don’t know if it’s a bug, but when I helped the alchemist, I collected 10 healing plants. I figured it was a good way to make money. So I spent a few minutes collecting plants. And when I sold them all I ended up with a total of: 7700100 Gold Coins…
It’s not a bug, it’s a temporary feature until I am able to make more ways to gain money.
Do I hear some Elder Scrolls music?
More specifically TES 3: Morrowind music, yes. Who doesn’t love it? It’s a great placeholder until I figure out how to use FruityLoops.
It goes great with the whole setting! Are you going implement a travel system? Meaning like your on the road and a bandit attacks you a classic.
Yes, I will, whenever you’ll travel, there will be a chance that something might happen to you. Of course, that in the next big update.
Highway men…I want to be one
Hey Alex do you think that you could make a way where when you buy something you can select how much you want instead of just re-clicking the item till you get the desired amount?
I may make that in the future; and I may do the same with storing/taking items. But not yet; right now I’m busy with making a soundtrack, and after I’ll make a soundtrack I will start reworking on the game itself.
QUICK STATUS UPDATE:
- to anyone wondering, this game is not abandoned yet. I just didn’t find enough motivation to work anymore on it, so I only started to work on the update yesterday. Next week school is starting for me, so I estimate the update will be released in a week or so (if I don’t run out of motivation again, and if nothing else comes up).
So I sat down and played this finally. Im impressed, especially with your proficiency with the script. I did find it odd that I kept being called “lad” even when I’m a female character. So far you have a really cool framework for a cool game in the style of the sandboxes that Skyrim and Fable are. It is a fairly ambitious project so here’s to you finishing it!
That’s just how the gatekeeper calls everyone; a “lad”, regardless of being a female or not Anyways, I hope it’ll be as great as Gothic 3 is (I didn’t play Skyrim or Fable so I won’t tell anything about them) or at least as great as Morrowind, regardless of it being graphics-free.
UPDATE CONTENT/NEWS:
The update will contain the following:
- The fully-completed Deadwood Forest with exploration and hunting;
- The combat system;
- A few of the attributes are removed (i.e. honor) as they won’t affect the gameplay anyways;
- More main quests/sidequests;
- Ship building, sailing;
- Bargaining effect on shops (the skill of bargaining);
- Shops closing at night, after 22:00;
- Jousting;
- Spells (2-3 spells for each type of magic style, each with its own effect);
- A cheatcode system;
- Fishing;
- Buying/Selling horses;
Update Deadline: 25th of September if nothing unexpected turns up.
After releasing the update, I’ll call a vote on what to do next (i.e. relationships, ship battles, siege weaponry making etc).
I forgot to mention that from the next update, you won’t have 10 max. health and 10 max. armor, you will have 100 max. health and 100 max. armor so that combat is easier to be done.
Im glad you’re making the stats fewer. I think that a few quality stats are better than a large number of meaningless ones. I’m excited about the spell system!
This game is one I’m looking forward too. I loved Morrowind, and this is reminding me of it in spirit.
I forgot to mention something else as well, which is I’ll make use of the hunger/thirst/tiredness stats as well in the next update; you’ll have to regularily sleep/eat/drink liquids so you don’t die. All of them will be stats, but they won’t be limited to 100; the maximum will be 120 (the higher these stats are, the worser).
I’m glad you are looking forward to it, I also love Morrowind (there’s a reason I used its soundtrack as a placeholder!).
every one loved morrowind it was a great game…of course i butchered it with the TES set though
When I try to buy an iron helmet it says “You need 250 gold coins!” when I have way more than that.
Also, the leather gloves don’t show up in your inventory.
I’ll check on that now. Also, you’re only allowed to carry one piece of armor at a time of each kind (i.e. you can’t carry two iron helmets or an iron helmet and a leather helmet).
EDIT: Buying the iron helmet should work now. Forgetting a “not” did it. And about the leather gloves, I’ve inspected on that and apparently, it should work; I have no idea why they won’t. I’ll try it myself in a couple of minutes
can you tell me about the cheat code system does it mean i can set my skills to whaever number i want?
