I checked the code of the game and I think there should be a possibility of branching classes with physical and magical abilities in certain high levels. Also, what are the artifacts of this game? I also want party members included in the game. I might suggest more improvements.

Please do feel free to suggest more improvements. Branching classes and physical and magical abilities is something that I am considering indeed at higher levels, if the game is successful (so far I am a bit worried about the ratings of the game…). Also, it would be nice as you say to include artifacts in any future expansion. Party members is a more complicated mechanic, and I am not contemplating it for this game… but I would like to include it if ever I make a second part.

(otherwise, sorry that I haven’t replied to other threads… currently I am overwhelmed with a backlog of work, plus I am hoping to get a first update to the game out sometime next week, with some bug reports that are coming in… any small suggestions or bugs that you can think of are welcome!)

What about making a reference from your HoV series? Anything from places to characters to objects to even game mechanics. (Not Future Tech, that breaks the background of your game. Unless something from the future comes to this story), What about a DLC in the future where you can crossover with your other games like the Legacy Advantage DLC from the Lost Heir Series

Love the game, my only complaints are small. I would have liked to have known about the deities before choosing my race. That way I could see that humans have no major dieties. It is also never discussed why the humans don’t have one, or what effect it has on their society.

With the ones that are there Asmahathar is the one I chose, what didn’t make sense is if he’s supposed to be for Duty, and Sin? These things contradict each other most of the time (but not always depending on the duty.) If their duty is against sinn does that make him for, or against it? Unless he’s really not evil, and uses Duty to get sinners life in order. I think that would be more interesting personally. You still have him be the evil one, just have him go too far, perfect anti villian.

My only other suggestion, is this gets a sequel please add a way to get more people with you, most likely with followers. That way abilities could play off of each other.

I still really think this is good.

I’ve said before that this game is good, and I stick to that. However, it is a major breakaway from hog traditions, meaning that there is no romance, no character interactions and no real plot. While it is certainly good for what it is, I fear that these are the reasons why it’s losing ratings. Smashing one monster, just to smash another monster isn’t everyone’s Cup of tea. Other than that, it’s simply like I said, good for what it is.

I had a playthough as a Kathos worshipping orc to see if anything changed in the final dungeon and it apparently didn’t. The people I could try to be diplomatic with were just as hostile as if I had been any other race or faith. Was this intentional or am I overlooking something?

Fighting defensively doesn’t seem to affect your defense, which is kind of a problem. Also, there are a ton of random decisions that aren’t at all satisfying. Skill ratings aren’t really explained.

I guess they’re just blind or something. Either way true to Kathos. Bruddah, hoomiez will get Waaaghed.

No you didn’t. I’m afraid there’s not much room for diplomats in these dungeons.

@Fredrick-No-E good points, thanks! I added another small lore explanation about the former goddess of humans, Aenanke… would make for an interesting story, if I ever write a second part of this game… about Asmahathar… I wanted indeed to capture a very complex and contradictory god. I also didn’t want to make any god “the truly evil one”, to try to make them all a bit ambivalent, if that makes sense? Anyway, glad that you liked the game!

@Denzil_Melgior_Nagel I agree completely. I made the game I wanted to make, even knowing that it might not be everybody’s cup of tea. It’s my tribute to the old fighting fantasy games… and a proof that you can “sort of” do an RPG with choicescript. But… yes, no romance, no character interaction, and a weak plot that drives you through a dungeon crawl… why did I make this game and not stick to writing something else that more people would like? Sometimes my brain wants to do what it wants to do… I sit and try to work on a certain game, get nowhere, and decide that if any writing is going to take place it is the writing that my brains wants to do… and then this came out!

@Trickster the game does give you different options in the last part if you are an orc female… but yes, so far not much if you are an orc male… I have now coded several new options at the end of the game, for orc characters, with each of the options requiring a slightly better relationship with Kathos (>50, 55 or 60). This would allow you to potentially skip three of the fights in the last dungeon… how is that? Any other suggestions?

@kckolbe mmmm yes… I take the criticisms you make (I know this is part of the issue with this game). But, can you give me some more explanation? What do you think I could change to improve? (I am always happy to continue to tweak and improve games… after all, they only get better when people point out how to improve them!)

@Denzil_Melgior_Nagel any other thought of instances where diplomacy could work? (indeed, this game is not very big on dialogue… this is very different from many of my other games…)

That’s why I like your games, because you are not afraid to explore certain areas and break away from tradition. As far as diplomacy is concerned, I cannot think of something currently. I guess that’s just another thing we will have to be content with, another breakaway move LOL. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever, it’s just that it kind of rips people out of whatever they believe A game should be like or about. It’s just a risk you take when doing it.

When I fight defensively, my defensive scores remain the same. Unless I am missing something, this is a clear bug.

As for the rest, every class has the same starting abilities, with class affecting the limit. But if you are comparing this to old school D&D, then attributes are known to have an average of 10. I have no idea what is the average for each class in this. For example, I started with 4 and raised sneak and traps to 6. First time I tried to sneak, against a SLEEPING opponent, I woke him up. And I got hit by a trap after inspecting a chest and not noticing it (perception 6).

Once in the first dungeon, shit is random. Once, I went down below to follow the stream. While there, I had an option to…go below and follow the stream. That’s what I was doing.

Even worse, the loot in the dungeons, and seemingly the challenges as well, change based on class. As a wizard, healing potions are almost non existent. As anything else, it’s all you get. And the only locked doors I saw were when NOT playing as a rogue.

That said, my biggest complaint is just how damn long the dungeons are. And there’s no puzzles or anything. This part I’ll write off to personal preference, because I bet some players would like a hack n slash dungeon crawl.

Hello i played the game sometimes (testing different jobs), and i feel bad playing as a mage (usually the one i like the most), so mages have to use mana for pretty much everything (yeah, i can raise the basic stats, but I’m playing as a mage, if i wanted to smash my opponent with my weapon, i would choose to be a fighter), but the thing is, we need to use the level up points to raise mana and to learn spells, just to remember we need to use spell for pretty much everything, since we’re not going to pass the normal tests and we need use for fighting too, cause come on, mages normals attacks are nonsense, so mage need a lot of mana, and a lot of spells, do u see my point? Not enough level up points for both. Could you at the very least give 5 mana for a startup mage? It’s the bare minimum.

I know, mages are OP in their our way, cause the right spell is an auto-pass and it always hits the opponent, but it’s not so different for a fighter, since he would have a high attack plus the fact that It doesn’t uses mana.

So please, give mana to the mages

This game is a VERY amazing game(although i like romance, I like battle even more) but when I tried the money cheat it just reset my money to 30, is there something else I have to do to get the money to stay there?

Thanks for responding. He didn’t seem that evil to me. More so like a case of authorial bias against the cool one. Like the great Caesar.

As for RPG’s on Choicescript. Saying you’re walking so we can run would sound like bragging, either way we’ll have a demo out pretty soon of our own. The early demo is mostly to make sure the base systems work, with some simple quests. So it by itself can’t compete with a full game, but I think that it. I’d tell more about it, but it would sound more like advertising than a discussion between those who want the same thing which is what we want. So I’ll just say that it addresses the concerns of others (primarily multiple party members, perks, exploration, Diplomacy, and a more complex story.) and has its own gonzo flavor which is more of a subjective preference.

This is not to say you suck, this is the best (and arguably only.) RPG on Choice Script so far, which is an impressive feat, and what my team is aiming for has a tone that is both grittier, and funnier. So many will still prefer a fully completed IceSpire, over a fully completed Endless Sands (working title.) And I’m okay with that. Just saying it so you know that you’re not alone, and a bit of context as well.

I don’t know if anyone still come here to chat but I have got some things to say the game was nice and repetitive but still fun to play I kinda wished we had the option to date the gods and goddesses because it would have made sense with all the relationship stats that was there and I think the relationship stats didn’t do much help I just didn’t have a situation when I need the deities help maybe only as a cleric and I think the main villain of the game should have been more on the lizardfolk than the orcs considering the story or the leaders of both race decided to join together and I still absolutely didn’t understand what was up with the tree attached to the female orc at the end or the orb and finally I think we should have been given a option or stat check with perception to identify that group we meet on our journey I just hate being rob by them but after everything from the beginning to the end the game was really fun I just felt the impulse to play and finish it

I tried starting this game last week but there was an issue… I started on Ridiculously Easy so I could get a grasp on how a lot of things work. I’d get through the game with no issues and not have to worry about money. That way I’d be able to explore a lot of story situations. Anyway, I had plenty of coin for a magic weapon but couldn’t buy any. All buttons except “done shopping” were gray.
