Hi all, gonna put down a bit of a Seduce Me 2 review.
Got it yesterday, and it started off pretty decently, a couple changes from the demo, most noticeably is the change in voice actress for the spirit in Erik’s path. (Preferred the old VA, tbh).
First off, general complaints: Typos, non-VA-ed lines, VA not matching given lines, continuity errors (relating to chosen fight style mostly, I chose a lion for my guardian, then in the fight, it said I had a lion, then referred to it as a wolf for the rest of the scene), but not much else.
Personal complaints: Well, I do think some of the CG aren’t that great, but some are awesome- there’s an obvious difference in effort between them. Proportions in some are really awkward, and I don’t like how the player is forced to see MC in some CG, when she doesn’t have a character model in dialogue (because by not doing so, it seems we are able to interpret her appearance as we please). Sometimes dialogue and CG don’t really match up too well, or CG background doesn’t match in game location. (Specifically Sam’s one heated romance scene- also, concerning Sam, his final CG didn’t unlock when I chose to stay with the demons rather than go home with him, then replay and chose go home, and it was the same CG with a different background, and only then it unlocked? Wut. )
I do like how the story varies completely per route, which is pretty original, but I don’t get why these people aren’t having their own problems as things progress- the only scenario which is based purely on problems for MC is Erik’s route, and James and Damien have problems with the MC that could easily translate to their current partners (everyone is married now? Will get back to this), while Matthew and Sam have problems based solely on themselves, and that’s ignored.
I get that MC and her partner are the focus, but if that’s so, then why include the other boys in each route to such a degree? And why bring their wives along too? If they do have to be there (I do understand supporting their brother), then why would they endanger their wives? Marriage of the other demons is recognized in the prologue/demo (well…only Sam on James’ route) but it would make more sense to have them talking about missing them, or something. No information is given on the wives either, though it seems they have powers to, maybe even Erik’s wife being a succubus, which is completely glossed over.
Speaking of, what’s with the wives? Like, MC and Boy of Choice (Now referred to as BoC) knew each other for the longest, for plus minus two and a half years. They’re engaged, getting married any day now- yet everyone else is already married? IE: They met someone new and got with her in 2 years? (Far as I know, that’s when the boys left MC and BoC alone, getting the picture) But MC and BoC still haven’t married yet in that time, though its ‘true love’ and blah? ??? (I get people not wanting to marry, but MC is firmly set in the marriage mindset, not making that a factor)
AND What’s with Diana’s ‘craziness’? Honestly, how does anyone expect MC to know when she’s acting mad or not- MC has only ever known her to be insane, when following the boys routes. It isn’t represented at all, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to kill off Diana anyways, as it leads to a bad end, or it happens as part of the story in Sams route…for some…reason. I think Sam is the writers favorite.
That being said, the story is unique, the voice acting is pretty good, the characters are fresh, I’m fond of the music (the generic music added to ‘normal scenes’ is very Fable-esque imho) and it is very consent based sexy, with you being as unaffectionate or as affectionate as you want, with well written sexy scenes. It’s actually quite funny how one of each of the three potential scenes has a kink linked into it. I remember reading it and going: Man these guys are vanilla- then James tied MCs hands up. Goodness.
So…yeah. ^^ Much better than the last one I think. (Still don’t like Sam and Damiens new character designs though).
7/10
Worth the current price.
