Bug Notes:
At the end of Chapter 1, the narration mentions there’s feelings of hostility between the MC and Merlin during option to pick manipulating them, even though all previous actions were cordial and flirtatious except for being mentally suspicious of them around the time they burned my bed.
In a playthrough where I chose to be a Fae and picked a female Merlin during the Apocalypse exposition, there’s a line which uses the ‘him’ pronoun for Merlin when I picked the Magical option in the ‘Who Are we Supposed to be Fighting’ section.
Adrian says MC instead of their name when you ask the blob if they have a certain magazine available.
After picking the Coffee choice in the ‘Make Our Own Breakfast’ option after you tried pulling a Philip J. Fry in the RV, it defaults to Adrian making it instead afterwards.
Loved the update, as per usual. I enjoyed the various shenanigans my MCs got up to while we were in the RV, and what I presume is going to be the new normal for our group during our first prep station. I liked how the Sloth and Greed sins were implemented here too (do the the Lust and Wrath options also impact gameplay?) along with the vices, masks and weapons.
I first thought (and still do think) the little fairy princess was either a high-level demon or Fae in disguise, and I’ll be keeping my eye out on how this little meeting affects things given all the foreshadowing. I also unfortunately haven’t been able to trigger a demon invasion yet (which I assume is linked to a possessed MC?) so I can’t give my thoughts on that.
I likewise couldn’t trigger the grayed out option of mentioning the ooze to Merlin or Adrian, and have yet to beat the blob which I know is possible since there’s an achievement for that. Any hints are appreciated because I really want my Arthurian Chosen One!MC and Serial Killer!MC to beat that thing.
Speaking of, I loved the strategic importance of the sacred Magic 8 Ball. Truly, it is a seer beyond seers and I hope it continues to guide our faction to the right course of action as we continue our travels and encounters. Especially given the Amnesia Lying!MC’s thoughts regarding the fate-breaker.
For the other two options, I wasn’t able to do much by following Merlin aside from block an attack, which is understandable since I still don’t have enchanted weapons, but a shame regardless. RIP to my Glock/Squirt Gun until the blob encounter.
The TV’s attempt to possess me again was cool, but unfortunately for my bodysnatcher I prefer to keep most of my MCs unpossessed. And I like the impression of my MCs just casually sidestepping the blob and walking away because it’s such a slowpoke, plus all the options to be nonchalant about a shambling melted blob monster.
As for our shopping, we know how this goes. All quests require excessive looting and this is no different. Unless you’re trying to remain inconspicuous in which case the camera and clean up options take priority. I hope more choices to steal random crap from places and people for our adventure are present in the future, because that RPG mechanic is a must.
Finally I dearly hope we get to see our MCs sleeping habits unfold in the game and become a running gag, along with the (un)lucky character(s) who have to deal with it. I already read the short story, but something like an interlude in the game itself would be especially fun.
Oh, and for the Dreamscape Memory trip which I can’t remember if I commented on yet, that was awesome too, and I’m glad this’ll be a recurring this going forward as we slowly unlock more of our memories. My favorite route had to be the fight with Lancelot, given the awesome description of our battle and how we were able to set our weapons ablaze with a snap like a magic knight. My next favorite would be Arthur’s route, which gives insight into our King and who we are. The Lucid Dreaming options are of course brilliant all around and when paired with a Cloudcuckoolander!MC, you can bet your ass we’ll be causing all sorts of chaos in Camelot, no matter what Merlin or Adrian have to say about it. Though I do have to wonder who the hell would be willing to do that sort of stuff aside from the jesters and fae.
That’s all I have to say at the moment. Will probably post a bit more before going back to inactivity since I’m currently on an anime and fanfic binge, but excellent stuff once again. Hope things have been going well since the last time I was on CoG, and looking forward to when we can finally start our unwise tryst with the demonic mage.
