Despite choosing to be a Camelot nut the option to want to fence with Excalibur was greyed out.
Why is the game asking for my favored ringtone twice?
"MC! " Adrian hisses at your side and slaps your arm. Hard. Apparently some people just don’t understand the allure of a properly printed dead-tree edition.
I assume Adrian was supposed to call me by name here.
Blobbed: Yep
Bold : 122 Sweet : 116 Sassy : 62 Optimist : 51
Health : 91 Mark Status : Healed Merlin Healing : 2 Merlin Forced Healing : 1
This was a fun update. I have only played it once so far, but my character was so chaotic. I love the responses you’ve written. The MC can say the weirdest most amazing things. It’s hilarious. Thank you!!
Thanks for all the comments and stats! I’m not noticing anything completely off with the new ending stats being posted (unlike the first day).
Whoo! Going by the stats being posted, not many people managed to do that route and it ends up getting such a long split that continues into the next section too.
And I’m sure Family Accident MC loved that part too.
Yeah, a whole lot of reported errors are caused by the player’s browser using an old out-of-date cached version of the files instead of the newest updated ones.
I’m sure the demons also agree!
Typos have been fixed (as soon as I upload the files to my server). Rejiggering Merlin’s hostility again will have to wait until Chapter 2-5* which is the update where I’m going back to reformat a few non-urgent things in Chapter 1.
Regarding the coffee scene… if MC tries to make breakfast after binging on coffee, they should accidentally set the kitchenette on fire (after which Adrian steps in to cook via Fire Safety Code). Is that what’s happening there?
*Chapter 2-5 being the first update after Merlin’s Guide has been completely completed.
Yes, the vices are one of the MC’s main traits, so they have a lot of impact (as do all the choices that go “Is that your final answer?”)
Demon invasion doesn’t involve Possessed MC who is busy doing… other stuff. Hint for the demon invasion: The demons only come if they know exactly where the MC is.
Mentioning the ooze… you mean the various options to start singing about the blob before entering the convenience store? Only a certain type of MC would have the thought to do something like that.
Only the Serial Killer MC has the experience to pull off a Flawless Victory against a human-sized opponent. The Magic 8-Ball should be able to give some tips there. Otherwise, make sure the MC doesn’t get hurt ahead of time.
Merlin’s path is mostly for foreshadowing and getting closer to Merlin
Meanwhile in Camelot… Sir/Lady/Queen/King So-and-so suddenly gets a reputation for having random fits of insanity
Otherwise, all I’ll say is this chapter’s theme is “supply run”
This is a High Priority bug for me to fix, but it’ll still take awhile since I need to dig up the code for counting the letters in player’s input first.
Are these errors still present after you’ve cleared your cache and reloaded the game page?
Otherwise, Possessed MC can only do two mutually exclusive things in the second half of Chapter 2-2 depending upon their actions in Chapter 1. As to the other option… Hint: Merlin & Adrian aren’t stupid enough to leave a known Possessed MC on their own unsupervised
Oops. Looks like I introduced a new bug when I fixed an old one. That should be fixed now.
Did the game ask for the ringtone twice? Not the test message alert in Chapter 1 & the ringtone in Chapter 2, but the ringtone twice?
MC bug should hopefully be fixed without introducing new bugs. I really need to stop using MC Surname as my test character.
Only one teeny tiny complaint, all this Arthurian stuff, all this pop culture, all of this random assortment of completely unrelated trivia, but no Bernard Cornwell reference, not even once? truly, this is unforgivable
Ok, so I noticed something,
when giving mc a fake name and surname, and use the same name or nickname, it says ok?? then what would be the point?, and theres the option to only have a fake surname, but keep ur name/nickname. That I did, cuz i only wanted to change my surname to Benoni
but at the Adrian prelude, he says:
"Every now and then MC will half awaken with a start, suspiciously look around the interior of the RV, and then quickly drift off again.
No… not MC. MC. He can fully understand h…"
and i find it funny cuz he saying the same name twice, when my MC only changed their surname
Just barely made it, like, I made it back to bed and was one bad choice away from possession.
Also went through some of the possible reincarnations, saw that one of them had my irl name. Imma end up burst in laughter if I end up getting him, doesn’t help he’s a Major character.
I think I might be the most oblivious person in existence but genuinely how do you meet arthur in the dream ik you need lucid dreaming skill but what choices exactly after that are needed?
To speak to present day Arthur you need to be a lucid dreamer and pick “Never mind/Screw/Nuts to this… I spin around and catch the one who’s talking to me.” when you’re in the void.
I replayed the scene again, and it seems like I just missed the fact that the MC burned down the kitchenette and Adrian took over. Either that or the bug fixed istelf.
Although I did notice a possible bug during the Camelot dream, where after I encountered Arthur at the stables for the first choice and left to change my outfit, it always defaulted to a Merlin encounter with the description “You quietly retrace your steps back up to a higher level.” in the page, whether I picked the courtyard, the aforementioned clothes changing, or checked the stables again for Arthur.
Whoops, worded that wrong. What I meant to ask was whether the Lust and Wrath sins affect the rest stop portion of the game like Sloth and Greed, or if it’ll happen in a future update. I just played a character with the Wrath sin and didn’t notice any grayed out options or unique debuffs.
… Ohhhhh. I usually end up avoiding that route, so this was good to know. Thanks!
When I said ooze I meant the oozing puddles. The exact lines are: “I ask Merlin about all the strange oozy puddles that dot the ground around us” and “Ask about all the strange oozy puddles lining the floor.” when you choose to follow her and after she appears in the convenience store respectively.
Oh damn, now I really want to know how to pull that win off. I read the hint of the magic 8 ball (ranged weapons or serial killer MC only), picked the Glock as my weapon of choice and had my health as 83-84 since my Serial Killer!MC didn’t need healing from Merlin. I’m guessing winning against the blob requires my hunting implements? I’ll try that next.
Interesting…
Unless they already had a reputation for being a total wackadoodle, in which case it’s just more of the same.
Dang. I was really hoping I could be a Kleptomaniac MC and loot corpses/incapacitated NPCs. Ah well, that’s all the more reason taking everything that isn’t nailed down is the best choice.
Who the heck is– Oh, the Warlord Chronicles guy. I read the Winter King when it first came out *checks*… nearly 20 years ago… but never finished the series and I haven’t seen the TV series based on it yet either. It was already pretty depressing even before the start of the downfall arc.
Maybe it’ll come up if there’s someone running around in gold armor? Also, that’s definitely the most punchable variation of Lancelot, which I suppose makes sense, the Welsh getting their revenge for all the continental Lancelot stories crapping on the original Welsh characters.
The point is that some MCs think that it’s worth doing for… reasons. And it’s been referenced several times in the game already. Otherwise, I added a variation to the scene where the MC’s first name or surname remains the same.
Gawain, is that you? Stop stealing everyone’s wives, Gawain!
If you chose to change your clothes, then the MC is always going to head back inside to their quarters to get said clothes. I tweaked the looking around dialogue a bit to make it clear that you’re just briefly looking before heading inside.
Lust mostly messes with the MC’s relationship options. While Wrath can gray out options at times when the MC gets really mad, it’s more likely to automatically give flavor text where the MC lashes out and slams tables & such, slightly hurting themselves and slowly bleeding health away. The latter is what it’s doing in Chapter 2-2.
The ooze options only unlock if there’s actually ooze all around the rest stop… which means the rest stop is in bad shape (no living human customers around).
Otherwise, the Glock-19 is a bit too long range. Also bullets can only do a little bit of damage to something like the blob. The health only matters starting once you wake up in Chapter 2 -2.
All these suspicious people about the kiddie invasion.
Also, I’ve hopefully fixed this particular bug so that the Imposter on TV will now work with names that only have 1-2 letters.
