November 2022's Writer Support Thread

That’s the problem with letting the plot run the characters, instead of the other way around. Because if you just close your eyes and let your characters DO the things that they’d do instead of forcing them to conform to the plot, this immediately sorts itself out, though, granted, you might not end up where you originally wanted to end.

Welp. Another 50,000 words later, I’m still not quite there. Goal for Dec 2022: rethink my life choices.

You are awesome! and have a cool family. Your life choices are great even if sometimes you have lest time for write Harrowings.

I finished my Royal Affairs first draft!!! It’s been a long journey and there’s still much further to go, but I’m really pleased to have reached this point. Now that I have a big-picture perspective on it now, rather than being in the quagmire of drafting, I feel proud and reasonably confident. In a bunch of ways I think it improves on Crème de la Crème and I’m looking forward to carrying on polishing it up.

If it seems that November was a tough month for you, I share that same feeling.

As @Havenstone, I too, have not accomplished my November goals.

I will be a bit quieter this upcoming month because I do not see it getting any easier.

November was a rough month, but it had its bright spots. While proper story writing is stuck in a rut still, I’ve had some fun writing some prompts my girlfriend and I had thought of. It’s always nice to be able to share your hobbies with someone, especially someone you trust.
