Exactly Jag. I think this could have been much much more detailed and varied which would have made the game much better. The fact is if you select “suspicious” after hannah’s coronation, you never get any further options to explore this “fix”.
I’ve also noticed some choices have the same outcome. Like when you and your wife are attacked by the bandits if you select either “are the b****** dead” or “any left to question” it has the exact same response.
Can’t help but feel the author has made shortcuts in places. The sad fact is they are incredibly noticeable and do have an impact on the story.
I didn’t get to choose the name or gender of my MC’s child and now thE name just comes up as “.” and the pronouns continuously switch between she and he. I loaded it from a save game where I lost the tournament. It’s pretty much unplayable in this state.
Aren’t you like… the author?
You know the guy who programmed a sequel where one can import a saved gamed where they lost, thus calling for naming the kid etc?
Shouldn’t it be your job to make sure things work smoothly? Instead of telling people “start a new game instead”?
On a note:
It help to somehow have an overview of which variables are new, which would get imported etc to not miss one.
Edit: on a different note:
I assume beta testing was done on dashingdon?
Maybe @dashingdon and @jasonstevanhill (or someone) could work out a way to allow for importing savefiles from cog for testing?
Turns out there is a bug that results in some dialogue missing from that scene. It is only showing up in a few specific circumstances. I can see why your upset, maybe it doesn’t address all your concerns, but it is skipping ahead quite a bit. Will fix in the next update. Thank you for bringing this up.
I disagreed with Hannah and stated this all seemed too rushed, and when it was time to vote, I voted for myself and then Sir Vonn to voted for me, which resulted in a tie. Sorry for the late reply, it took awhile for me to see it again. I don’t know if this matters, but I was married to Nadine.
yes after the vote becomes a tie then last vote right is given to Hannah for tie breaker and of-course she vote for herself so there is no way to win against her although you do get an achievement for a tie but in the end its not a tie so why did author even tried to make it a tie if you lose in the end is beyond me unless I missed something.
Also from starting game with my saves of different boon from king I found that only way to become king at start(king like powers or stature-not really king as long as Hannah is alive) is to marry Hannah(asking her hand) or ask her to be king when she ask you to select a reward later in game but that too wont make you the king ( like father like daughter) so you have to kill her in some way is my guess to become true king.
Now I feel that Hannah manipulated the council to vote in her favour and discarded the boon given from king to you so she can stay as queen of Magicia ? I’m really confused at this point why did author give us chance to become king from boon but didn’t really see it through or my save got messed up from restore and something went wrong? (I did not retain my status points or gold from previous part is it same for everyone or is it just me?)
@Jerieth
Hey man, I just want to say that I’ve really enjoyed your work, and I know it must be incredibly hectic now with the issues popping up and the complains and all. But heck, not everyone can crank out a masterpiece every year. Besides, it’s not like you intentionally made those mistakes.
Hang in there, and know that you did a heck of a good job with this piece. I’m just quite blown away by the depth there is! Thank you for sharing this with all of us, keep writing, keep grinding, take any and all negativity in your stride cause this is truly incredible work! Just take it all as feedback, and improve from there.
Just know that there are tons of us rooting for you, so keep at it!!!
Yeah I don’t understand it either. It’s like the author is saying yeah you used your boon to be the next king, but yeah it was a wasted boon because you won’t be the king in the vote? So what was the point in even selecting they boons??
Not to be mean but he did screw us over there which has really peed me off slightly. If you were meant to be the rightful king, and nobles do think highly of you, why don’t they help you seize the throne soon as they learned the king died?
maybe a plot from Hannah because she interfered with both boons in game and there is a dialogue which give you a choice to think her actions are suspicious so there is a plot maybe idk but yes something went wrong with save from part 1 and its like you start a new game from part 2 but putting that aside the story was good and some people complained in reviews that story is short but I think if you select Hannah’s hand in marriage then story line will be relatively short than other choices otherwise its longer and you just have to try not to be smarty-pants and not avoid some choices or you will miss out on some content.
Edit :- 1 just found “Fragglesworth” reference again lol, It is short but fun and that’s all I’m going to say about it so find it yourself. Story is diverse and each choice leads to somewhat different scenarios but I personaly love Fragglesworth
You get a lot of hidden stats if your boon was King or Heir making the process of becoming King a lot easier, so I don’t feel it is a wasted boon, but I understand what your saying. Some nobles do think highly of you, but I don’t want to give any spoilers… (some nobles have a greater interest in Hannah becoming the leader than you, so they are actively working against you.) There is a lot of political intrigue, even if you go back to Swamp Castle if you go the route to make Magincia a republic, there are several nobles that work behind the scenes to prop up Gensa.
There is an entire backstory to it, and maybe in one of my later games I will reveal what is going on with Hannah and the nobles, but keep in mind that historically people disputing about who is the rightful ruler is very common…even in fantasy, I mean take a look at Game of Thrones.
