There’s no save option as of now. If we go by the recent releases, it will be not available until Book 5 in on publishing queue.

Jun/ko stans also tend to “forget” all the sexual abuse going on for most of the story that gets excused as “b-but that’s just their twisted love! poor baby having an episode :'(” :man_shrugging:

I saw on the authors twitter page that he has been emailing hosted games to try and get this fixed but hasnt had a reply yet, so i think not being able to save the game is a problem rather than intended, one he is trying to sort out

Perhaps but the Sordwin (another HG title and sequel to Evertree Inn) doesn’t have a save option as well which have a planned Book 3. I’m not sure if they will apply the no save option until entering the publishing queue policy to old series.

No, don’t get me wrong, I know Jun/ko is written to be a very dark and complicated character. Not everyone is going to like such a character, or forgive the disturbing things they’ve done…nor should they, if they don’t feel it’s right for their character to do.

I suppose I see Jun/ko’s character as having a larger theme about having to face one’s shadows, and about how thinking you can just cover them up and forget, isn’t always the right thing. Sometimes you have to make amends with the dead, or they will continue to haunt you…Jun/ko understood that, and was part of the reason they were so insistent on Sensei having respect and proper burial and angry when he was robbed from his grave… also the reason for smoking the ashes, etc

Strange, then, that you’re forced to forgive Gensai to actually play the game.

Than would you have preferred that the Orphans don’t forgive our Ronin?

I’d say that they have more of a reason to be unforgiving.

That’s beside the point! “we should have had the option to not have to say thank you to our abusive father figure” “yeah but what about cannibalised children”

You, as the player, are forced to not only sit through reconstructed abuse but made to be affectionate and grateful toward a man who abused you for most of your young life. It’s unacceptable and as many other abuse victims will agree with me, abhorrent.

Well the narrative is the same for all Ronin’s in that they are thankful and showing gratitude for the lives they’ve taken so that they could live… same with the orphans. And if you think about it, that’s the problem the Ronin is struggling with after the events of book 3, and the memories of their past. Who they are, what they’ve done to survive, etc.

After the Ronin accepts this, the spirits of the orphans stop tearing them apart, and start lending their power to the Ronin instead, to help them in battle.

That doesn’t necessarily mean everything is forgotten or forgiven… that’s up to you to decide. But it does give them closure.

Not really, since for the moment the game is released all I see of a specific group of people is talking over how toxic Jun and1. how they hate him, we get it.
2. Depends on how you play your ronin you see different sides of Jun, less toxic or not. Jun has lots of flaws and they way you grew reflects on his behaviour; I don’t excuse his behavior, but also tend to enjoy the dark parts as also the “softer” side of . He’s a really complicated .ateesting characterndAlso MC is not a precious little cinammon roll that doesn’t have their merit on horrible things. In the end noone’s forcing anyone to play a game that don’t like and not everything is for everyone. But why do l still see here pleople who claim they don’t like SOH anymore, keep talking about the same series they don’t like?

I think is because people loved the others books and are disapointed with this one. I myself didnt liked this book. I dont even think is a bad book or anything like that, i can see and kinda understand how people could enjoy now (after reading the reviews, like thats literally the point of having reviews). But i also think this is not a book for people who doesnt want anything with Junko and if i knew that before i wouldnt be playing this one tbh
(sorry about my english lol)

That’s understanding and I completely get people that book 4 wasn’t their cup of tea; it was for me tho tand for many other people. Instead repeating themselves about the thngs they hate let’s talk about the things we love in these series.
Your english is breally good tw, and much better than mine.

Yeah, i would be bothered if i saw people talking bad about something i really like, but if i had saw the reviews before i would have saved some money (in my country is a little expensive lol). The point is, i think the bad reviews are just as useful and i was so angry and uncomfortable during pretty much the whole book, that i couldnt see anything to love about it lmao

Perhaps if people wouldn’t make comments like;

then myself and others wouldn’t have to defend our position. Something to consider, no?

To be fair, there has been a bit of a heated discussion from both directions.

People are passionate about what they believe in and what they enjoy and it should be respected, no matter if we agree or not.

I may not understand certain motivations or agree with someone else’s conclusion but I do my best to take other perspectives into consideration or to agree to disagree.

In all fairness ronin doesn’t want to forgive them. He has to play along with the evil ones game so he doesn’t get killed. I wasn’t as thrilled with this one but I viewed it as the empire strikes back it’s the darkest one cuz basically the hero is put through crap. But hopefully there is only two or three books left. I really hope we can have a happy ending or at least a bittersweet one. Sorry for the ranting. But Devon keep up the awesome writing!!

Hi guys,

a gentle reminder:

Each person have a different perspective so this will result in different opinion on certain topic. Please respect each other opinions and don’t hammer your view into others since each person has their own right to enjoy what they want to enjoy and we don’t have the right to judge them because their opinion vary from our own.

SoH 4 has their controversial issues which has been tackled been thoroughly. It’s okay to have a healthy debate but if it’s becoming circular, please just step back and take rest from it.

Thank you.

Edit: @Chaneyi
Thank you for your post and I hope each of us should emulate your perspective.

What do you guys think about Emperor Satsuma? Don’t mistake me but I have a vague feeling that he has secrets, besides the seem so reasonable intention that he sent our ronin MC on their adventure to kill demons also his enemies to help bring peace back to Hyuga or he has a mask on? Maybe we will find out more about him in the future.

Got very suspicious after that talk he has with masa

about being their in the wedding and the ronin especially has to be there and look him in the eye like??? squints eyes suspicious though his side story does lessen it a bit but i really feel like he might just drive a sword through our ronin’s neck if it meant protecting everyone especially with all the demons we’ve been inhaling.
