this is beyond a doubt the best heart’s choice game I’ve played yet. it had me HOOKED from the demo, never have i ever opened up steam so quickly. i made an account so i could do the equivalent of shaking you eagerly. i’ve just finished my first playthrough and GOD i have the DUMBEST grin on my face right now. amazing. adorable. i love davin so much and id like to give you my biggest thanks for feeding that “ray of sunshine with unfathomable timeless creature” trope. so good. i eat it up every single fucking time. he’s the perfect sap, my little princess. thank you so much for writing this, i’m going to replay it a million times and whenever i get sad.

Absolutely LOVE this game. I’ve played through twice already (the first time I didn’t end up with Davin because I didn’t hang out with one of the guys in Chapter 6 - but luckily I worked out what happened and replayed it (and I see from the Reddit thread that will be fixed anyway). But I’m glad I did replay, because I feel like I made even better choices the second time! For example, Cris and Miriam ended up together, which was so sweet, and Ryan won the election.
I found the setting beautifully evocative and nostalgic. I’ve never been to New York, but I was there for 90s culture and so it really resonated with me and reminded me of my own childhood and teen years. I also loved the theatre/musical aspect. I don’t know much about that, but it drew me in and made for fun story mechanics.
Thank you to the author for an extremely good game. On to the next playthrough! (where I will challenge myself not to romance Davin again… or maybe I will anyway)

hello! i have a question about romancing davin…is it supposed to be more difficult to romance him if you aren’t playing an optimistic, adventurous character?
i was having difficulty romancing him as a pragmatic, jaded character that is hardworking and resists using the extra soul and when replaying i notice sometimes that i’d have an affection at 74 or something and then randomly when im say talking about something completely unrelated to him the affection would drop by like 10 points.
so i wanted to ask for advice/clarification if it was intentional that he’s difficult or if my game might just be bugged. i hope someone could help!

Hi @Infel! I’m so sorry you’re having difficulty romancing Davin! In the first half of the game he does tend to frown on the more pragmatic decisions your MC can make, and he especially dislikes indecision. But these things shouldn’t be making it frustratingly difficult to romance him. Did you recall anywhere where it felt off or it make you feel bad or confused? Since I’m already fixing glitches, I can definitely recalibrate some stats where needed. Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention!

ahhh i see! thank you for the clarification! i was paying closer attention to the stats by obsessively checking after every choice on my second playthrough and i did notice there were some harsh drops in affection after choosing some neutral options so hearing about the indecision now makes a bit of sense! though admittedly me being esl i did assume some of those neutral options were less indecisive and more trying to be fair/practical so think that might be a mistake on my part too haha 
that said, in that same playthrough i did almost manage to maintain a higher affection to the end and i thought i almost made it because i got the tower scene that seems romantic but then i accidentally chose what i assume were neutral indecisive choices that dropped my score down again and i stopped getting flirty choices with him and got the scene where you can potentially encourage him to end up with the doctor bear the end again was that because my affection score went down too low for the romance check or because i might’ve triggered the wrong flag somewhere? i saw people mention something about hanging out with the other guys but i didn’t do that because i worried it would tag a different LI so im not sure if it was the stats or my own mistake.
regardless thank you so much again for the clarification! i will definitely do some more testing later with them in mind! ;w;/

My score also dropped down drastically at that point, but I was able to scramble up again. I don’t understand the coding for the stats because when I got my best HEA my romance scores were all over the place with Davin’s the lowest, so there might be a glitch in there somewhere. Persevere, as from what I’ve heard you can even lose a bit of your soul, though I kept mine at 100%, and still get a happy ending.
Now thats out of the way, I can go and be as bitchy as I want,

I’m so sorry that y’all experienced such frustrating glitches. Like the pretty princess he is, Davin made it as difficult as possible to romance him. I believe I have tamed the code now, and you should be able to get your demon!
I feel terrible about this, I can’t tell you how much all your disappointment pained me, and as a mea culpa, I’ve added some content to the story – just a tiny bit of lightly sexy fluff at the end of Chapter Nine, after the debate.
If any other issues come up, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I, like Davin, want you to have exactly what you want

twirling my hair and giggling a new tidbit of fluff you say? i just finished another run so i suppose i will just have to go and fall in love with him again oh nooo the horror. in all seriousness, thank you for being so responsive and working so hard to fix everything! i was lucky enough not to encounter any issues but i’m glad that thanks to your efforts, everyone will be able to experience the most jaw dropping swoon worthy romance of All Time.
also as an aside, and please don’t feel pressured to answer this haha i can only imagine the amount of work that’s been going on behind the scenes, do you think you’d ever do mini snippets of the mc and the ROs in the future? or will this be the last we see of them? (also are you alright with fanfiction because i fear davin has me by the throat and i am being bombarded with visions. help).

I think these fixes didn’t work for me, and I was so invested in this 
Perhaps I did something wrong, but sometime after that ball, Davin has been avoiding me for some reason and I’ve been stuck at 74% affection till the end where I ended up alone. I pretty much avoided the two other love interests and only focused on him, so perhaps that’s related to the issue. Is there a special condition to get his route? It would mean a lot if someone could help

Thank you for your quick reply! I’m sure that the romance didn’t stop immediately after the ball. I remember Davin glancing at the main character with fondness at times and saying something uncharacteristic once or twice after that. Perhaps it was around the time when Cris asked us to visit him when he wasn’t feeling well? I also remember Davin telling the MC that she deserved to have everything she wanted and arranging a carriage ride for them, although I’m not sure if by that time it was just friendly.
Anyways, thank you so much for looking into it!
I’m going to need more information @HalloweenBox. Davin arranging a carriage ride happens before the ball. Hanging out with Cris in is apartment is 2 chapters later. Did you dance with Davin at the ball? Did you hang out with Cris at his place? Even if you didn’t, did you choose to go up to the roof to see Davin? Sorry for all the questions! I’m just trying to pinpoint where things went wrong.

I also had a surprise rejection by Davin after the ball. I did go up to the roof to see him and he blanked me, I think he even left. The only thing I can think of is that at the ball I must have made a wrong decision. I did not go downstairs to see Cris.
