New Heart's Choice Game! "Devil on Your Shoulder"—Love and fame, and all it costs is your soul!

I’m so sorry @barca1au I have no idea what’s going on or why he rejected you. Let me try to get the chronology correct:

The ball is in chapter 4

Chapter 5 is the audition in front of the panel, talking with Heather, the art around the park event

It is not until chapter 6 that you go up to the roof to speak with him, after you either hang out with cris/ryan or not. After the conversation, he sends you to bed.

You can visit him again on the roof in 7, after Miriam’s event. If you are romancing him, you get the kiss scene.

Nothing you do at the ball should affect any of that. Do you remember what he said or the moment you sort of realized things were not going right with him?

as far as I can remember, Davin was stand-offish in Ch 5 and rude because I did not get Heather to sell her soul. In Ch 6 the roof visit was a brush off and he ignored me in Ch 7 during Miriam’s event and there was no kiss on the roof. By that stage Miriam was with Cris and Ryan vanished from the scene, presumably with Heather. Davin basically said the relationship was ended after I won the part and he’d see me later as he faded from the story.
Don’t worry about it, it could be that i found myself with a few choices I simply could not make and booted myself out of the game.

It sounds like you did give him away to Heather - or at least totally convinced him you were giving him away. That’s really the only way he fades out from the story in the end.

Honestly, I don’t really know how you got to the places you did! The only way to cut off the relationship, or even lose favor with him in 4, is to outright reject him. I don’t know why or how he could be stand-offish with you in 5

Cheers to you @barca1au! You took this story places I didn’t even know it could go! I do hope you managed to get a decent ending eventually :purple_heart:

Sorry for the late reply! No worries about the questions, I’m just grateful that you’re trying to help me

I did go to the ball with him and we also danced together. I refused to hang out with Cris and don’t remember anything memorable happening at the roof. I’m also certain that we rode the carriage at least twice.

My MC basically chose all the options where she could simp for him and completely rejected everyone else (she was just polite). She didn’t spend any alone time with another love interest and didn’t want to talk about anything that would separate her from Davin, even if that would help her find out his secrets.

You also have me stumped @HalloweenBox But I think I’m beginning to understand what’s happening.

Simping for him isn’t the best strategy. He wants you to have friends. He says it a lot. And when you don’t, you miss whole huge, kind of important facets of the story. I think that’s where all this tangling and bad endings with him comes from. Things happen in those scenes. Choices are made and when you don’t make them, later whole scenes that build from those choices don’t happen.

So, if you want a walkthrough, here it goes:

  • Choose to go to the library
  • Go with Davin to the bar after talking to Sinclair
  • Dance with him at the ball
  • It isn’t important for Davin’s romance, but talk to Heather after you face the panel. Don’t promise her anything and learn more about her story. It’ll make later decisions more meaningful
  • Invite him to the park
  • Hang out with Cris/Ryan when prompted
  • Hang out with Cris at the start of chapter 6
  • Still in 6, when Davin tells you to take the opportunity that is about to come up, take it. Hang out with Cris/Ryan
  • When you get back, go up to see Davin on the roof
  • Let him read your thoughts
  • After Miriam’s event, go to the roof and get your demon!

And that’s it!

I’m sorry this has been so frustrating for many of you. Hopefully this will help you go forth and get the ending you want :smiling_imp: :purple_heart::smiling_imp: :purple_heart:

Aw it’s sad that I couldn’t get Davin by staying loyal
But still, thank you for your patience and help! I really appreciate it

Its great fun trying all the different choices to see where they lead, even if aiming for a particular ending. You can end up in strange places, and alone. But unless you are playing an out and out witch who doesn’t care about anything, you need to remember when you ask for a favour that someone else pays, and its not always the nasty ones who get what they really deserve.

Oh my god this game is so freaking good. Davin is hands down the best. It took 7-8 chapters to kiss him and it was so worth it.

Its so romantic. Maybe the most romantic book in hearts choice so far.

Thank you @Victoriya Thats so lovely of you to say. Im so glad you enjoyed falling in love with Davin :smiling_face_with_horns::purple_heart:

I’ve seen a couple people have this problem already, but I’m trying to romance Davin. There seems to be a few different endings for him but the achievement I really want is “The Queen of Hell” where you spend eternity ruling Pandemonium by his side. Anyone know how to achieve this ending?

I believe you have to take his extra deals and then don’t take the challege at end after talking to the professor for your soul to be free if you perform well in the show. That’s what qorked for me at least.

That’s what I did—I took his deals and kept the power (saying no to the challenge). But I just got the true love overpowers consequences thing

I took some offers before rehearsals, then when we saw the professor, I gave Davin the entirety of my soul of my own free will to spend eternity in hell with him in spite of what the Professor said, so I needed to be with Davin forever to complete the contract and that got me “Queen of Hell”. I had already got the other achievement
