New Heart's Choice Game! "All World Pro Wrestling" by David Monster & Jim Dattilo

I’m using the hearts app, is there a way to see what achievements you get because I cant find an achievements button to press in order to view what achievements I’ve recieved

The devs said that it’s a bug they’re trying to fix. The achievements button doesn’t exist yet

I’m not entirely sure it matters, but how high is your Presence?

I was thinking it might be related to Presence, which is my highest of the singular % profile stats at 70%. I’ve had a high presence in other playthroughs—but they may have been ones where I didn’t flirt with the wrestlers. But I was also wondering if it may be related to how dominant or cocky you are.

I just wanted to give my thoughts on the game since I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is one of the best choose your own adventure stories I have read for a while here.

Pros:

  • great well developed characters
  • jokes land and he does a great job of sprinkling them throughout the story
  • excellent number of ROs (not counting flings). This is due to the book being exclusively m/m so gay players have 5 or 6 different romance options. All players will likely find at least 2 of them attractive based on personal tastes.
  • while I was a little skeptical about the adult nature of the game, the sex scenes are handled well, and they are written in a way that is going to turn on most gay men. Kinky sex is included but appears to be optional (players choice), I’m not personally in to some of them, but others were greatly appreciated.

Meh:

  • plot is kinda non-existent, but I think this kind of works for this type of story.
  • the game has some BDSM elements and as such there are some dialogues that try to convey npc’s consent to the reader. I feel like this is coming from a good place but it ended up a little hit and miss. At times I appreciated being told “you can tell that [insert name] is enjoying [action]”, but at other times it was jarring. If feel like it takes you out of the experience when the book is telling you what your player character is thinking. Again, at times I appreciated the information, but other times these prompts came right after a description of the action or dialogue from an NPC that conveys that same thing lol. There were like 3 or 4 times where I read this in the story and just thought “well no duh”.

Cons:

  • There were a couple bugs I experienced and like two typos that I noticed. The typos were pretty obvious what the author meant to write (missing the first letter of the word or flipping two words around). Nothing really serious. The bugs as well weren’t that big of a deal, it just caused some continuity errors in the story that were probably due to some minor scripting errors. While a little unfortunate, it doesn’t detract from the actual experience.

All in all, I would give the experience a 5/5. I’ve done two playthroughs and I am now looking forward to future Heart’s Choice games.

Just because you don’t like this quantity of sex doesn’t make the whole novel “trashy”. Erotica has varying levels of sex; this game just happened to have more than what you personally prefer!

Clearly this game isn’t your cup of tea, so I won’t suggest you replay, but—it’s a disservice to both author and fans to say that—just because the characters enjoy sex—the story contained no love or feelings …as the majority of the routes culminated in entering committed relationships. Also, as far as I’m aware, there is only one straight character, and he doesn’t partake in any sexual encounters with the other characters, MC included.

Yeah committed relationships after everyone fucked with everyone else, what a base for a relationship.
Anyway I repeat as I said this is my OPINION as a person who bought the game… god I can’t believe I need to say this:

  1. My opinion is personal and comes from my subjective life experiences therefore can be widly different from others
  2. In no way I suggest that the book shouldn’t exist or anything of the sort
  3. In no way I want to limit the freedom of expression of the author and his art

I thought that was obvious, this forum isn’t made only for praises, I’m fairly sure that the author can take a mild criticism of his job from what I repeat is my PERSONAL point of view.

I just thought the way you voiced your concerns came across as a little disrespectful to sex-positive and polyamorous people. But I’m not looking for a fight or debate, so I’m stepping away now.

I am not the primary writer but helped to develop the game and never have a problem with construction criticism.

AWPW is definitely not for everyone and when I first read the outline and summary, I saw it as a hypersexual, fantasy story. David actually called it “smut” at times during development and viewed it as even more pornographic than just erotica. When he wrote his first book, a lot of his readers asked for more and more sex. So I think with this game it appeals to a subset of a subset of a subset. Even the theme of wrestling is a very specific market.

The only place I disagree with your analysis is that you cannot find love in the game. I do think that you can find meaningful relationships and each of the romantic interests go through an arc in the relationship with the main character. You are absolutely entitled to disagree with that.

About Stan: I felt the point of that scene was that he doesn’t feel comfortable enough to express himself in public as the others are so open to do. For him, sex in private is not weird at all, in fact he’s reluctant to have sex with anyone due to his own insecurity.

How do you get the reeves scene

Btw anyone know how to get the second hide scene

@JimD

I really DO disagree, you can count on that  But I know it’s my own personal perception of sexuality and love, and that there are no such things as objective points of view on the matter that’s why I respect you as a co-author and thank you for all your hard work on this book and the others(big fan of Zombie Exodus, by the way!)

@hgbird
I’m sorry but I don’t accept to be called disrespectful only for my personal feelings; if I said someone shouldn’t behave in a way or that someone is wrong doing anything I might agree with you and apologize, but I specified multiple times this is only my opinion on how I felt reading the book, not a personal attack to anyone.

I’m sorry I don’t know exactly what the code checks for, but towards the end of the game, after you get the culminating scene with your RO, you can get a sex scene with Reeves, Hide, or Adam (you have to choose between the three of them). I THINK it may be dependent on how high your relationship is with them. If I’m not mistaken, the times I wasn’t offered these scenes were when my relationship with Clint was much higher, and he propositioned my MC instead. If anybody can help more, it’d be appreciated!

This is a wonderful game! I am surprised by how much I like it!

How much time can one spend with Dyer? I got 65 relationship with him, and got to “train” with him in the end of the game, as well as training with him and Rory earlier. Will he be more prominent in the sequel?

Also can the player stay non-committed/ commit to someone that isn’t Bravon, Mandrew, Marcos, Rory, or Stan (not that I dislike them; I am just curious)?

Unfortunately, they are the only ones MC can have a committed relationship with. Everyone else is just hook ups.

Was really hoping I’d be able to date Adam when I first played through :sob:

Now why would you do that Mara. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is a gentle reminder to please keep conversations directed at the topic at hand and not at the individuals themselves. Focusing replies on the individuals themselves instead of the topic at hand can lead to friction between members and often causes the thread to derail.

Please also remember that it is often not so much what ones opinion is that causes friction, but how one chooses to express that opinion. Using negatively-charged value words are a good way to start friction, as is generalisation and sniping. Personal comments lead to friction and flaming.

Please do not call out other users using negatively-charged words.

Sniping back and forth will often lead to the system closing the thread down, let’s avoid this if we can.

*Finally, if you see disrespectful posts please do not reply to them. Rather, please use the report feature and let forum staff deescalate friction.

I am so with you on that. I’m also really into the idea of being in a triad with Marky and Vinny O. :sweat_drops:

That too! Hopefully in the sequel
