Again sorry to everyone who was expecting a game from me good news! I am just not under this account go check out my story at [WIP] The Seven: Dawn Of The Gods (ON A BREAK)
As long as there’s a coherent and endearing plot with a decent romance aspect, I’m good after that.
What type of powers, classic like super strength or new fresh ones you came up with
I love superheroes games, but what is the plot for this one?
Probably classic but might have a mixture
Still working on it. Will update soon with more details
It’ll be a challenge to create something that stands out amongst the other superhero games, there are definitely… many. Though I always look forward to seeing how creators will combat the clichés that come with superhero themes with their own unique take.
I agree with bbymorphine, it all comes down to how your concept will stand out There are so many amazing superhero IF games for you to take notes from so I’d suggest splurging a bit on those stuff and researching what you want. Find your twist and the audience will find you. Some interesting superhero game concepts, though, would be:
-
Mentor-mentee superhero relationship (Batman-Robin, Flash-Kid Flash, Arrow-Speedy, Aquaman-Aqualad)
-
Superhero academy (Like Community College Hero and I read a Naruto fic that sort of had that theme, if you focus on just the academic stuff, it’s pretty helpful)
-
Making it a history-crossed-with-superpowers thing would be interesting. Maybe Amelia Earhart had teleportation powers or something
-
Something, aside from your MC’s powers, that makes them different, y’know?
Either way, I’m excited to see what you’ll come up with! I’m a sucker for superhero games, hahaha
Just saw this update! The police commissioner’s child is a new twist! Although it leaves the player less chance to choose a background, it give you, the author, more of a chance to build a background and solid universe-setting. If heroes aren’t “expected” though, does that mean that they’re rare or almost non-existent? Or is it just in Washington that heroes aren’t normal? I know you’re still in the development phase but I hope you manage to get things through! Excited to see what else you come up with
It looks like you’ve got things fleshed out! I’m excited to see the dynamic of the MC and their police commissioner parent, especially if the parent’s an ex-superhero or someone against superheroes because they’re a threat to their job(?).
I love how you’re mixing everything (civilian and superhero life) into the game and can’t wait to see how you’ll develop it!
I’m also excited to see how you’ll play the mentor-superhero relationship and if it’ll affect the MC’s relationship with their parent! Excited to see what else you have in store!
Can you be a bad guy I would love to be a bad guy with my own army of goons lol
I was thinking about adding an anti hero/villain element for the player
Like how it sounds so I will definetly keep tabs on this.
This sounds interesting. Can’t wait to see it!
This looks good I wish we could be the most powerful bean in the world
Can there be other RO choices? Like, can we romance civilians (while still having to keep our hero identities a secret from them)? How about a villains henchman (or whatever their equivalent of sidekick is)? Can we even romance our own hero mentor (if the age difference isn’t too big, I mean)?
I’d LOVE villain/henchman RO!!! Although when I picture it, all I can see is the relationship ending up like Vanessa Hudgen’s character in powerless
I don’t want to appear unnecessarily negative here, but I do feel that giving the players the choice of their powers will probably be a detriment to your game. It’s almost impossible to balance different powersets without either making them basically identical (and then, why bother pretending they’re different?) or effectively writing a different story for each (which would be far more profitable to release separately).
Conversely, having a single power can allow you to tailor the story (and even the theme) to the power, making a far more rounded story.
Whichever way you choose, good luck with the story!
Can we romance a officer
@ParrotWatcher I don’t fully agree with you. I mean, you do have a bit of a point that it will be difficult, but @MahatmaDagon hs been doing it with his W.I.S.P. game, and so far I think it’s coming out well.
Sooooooooooo, I don’t know who Vanessa Hudgen is… anyways, we could always combine the civilian RO into the evil sidekick RO. What I mean by that is basically have more than one civilian RO, and then make ONE of them secretly be an evil sidekick, and the MC doesn’t find out about it until much later in the game.
