When on the track with Carl, as a Wendigo it says I’m hard pressed to keep up with him. But isn’t the Wendigo’s main physical ability speed?
Quick question: How many people actually read the forum rules when they first came onto the site?
That is an excellent point. Going on the “minor edit list” with the rest (e.g., if a wendigo made friends with Carl on Day 1, they can still complain about him to their foster father.)
I did, but then I forgot about them about 10 minutes later (sorry, I have short term memory loss; makes me wonder how I STILL remember all the embarrassing shit I did in First Grade). The best I remembered were : a.) do not ask for updates (this was easy to remember, the consequences for this were tragic.), and b.) do not derail the thread (honestly, I’m not sure if this was actually THERE in the rules, or a result of common sense).
EDIT: Oh, by the way, is it me, or is Carl always male? 'Cause I played Vampire (again) and set my preference towards girls and he was still a boy.
2nd EDIT: OK, give me a moment to panic, I vaguely remember reading the rules and the guidelines back when I made an account, and when I decide to recheck it today, just in case, it suddenly doesn’t look like the rules and guidelines I remember and I gained a ‘Read Guidelines’ badge. Is my mind playing tricks on me again? Or did something happen when the forums had their whole ‘revamp’ thing they did a while ago?
If you look at the first post, it says Carl is male. There fore Carl will always be male.
hey there I’m so hyped for this game your writing is amazing !!
if i may ask will it be a hosted game or a choice game? also have you set a specific date for the release ??
@Alicia It’s going to be a hosted game. I had a timeline when I started, but as I add more content or have problems unrelated to writing code, it’s gotten pushed back. All I can really say is that Day 1 is almost entirely done, I’m back to coding regularly, and Day 2 is coming along.
@Jaxx
Yep, Carl and Benny are always male, Wendy and Victoria are always female, the demon changes from Chantal to Caleb depending on preference (but as you’ll find out later, there isn’t much difference between them; for now, see my recent reply about demon gender manifestation.) Taylor can be male or female (the only character I really consider to be gender-flipped based on MC) and only people who prefer females will interact with Artemis rather than her twin brother Hunter.
All of the other characters, as of now, are gender-locked.
That reminds me, how different are Hunter and Artemis? I forgot they weren’t like Taylor since we can only interact with one at the moment.
I expect they’ll have similar traits what with the being twins and all, but I find myself looking forward to interacting with them both together and separately. I also really want to see their reaction to the MC trying to get into their sibling’s pants.
If you play as someone who prefers females and then someone who doesn’t (any other orientation, including asexual), you can see both. They’re fairly different; most of their dialogue is unique. For the most part their game mechanics are the same (e.g. choosing the similar option will have the same effect on your relationship) but there are a few differences. They have different fighting styles, confrontation styles, and interests.
Meeting the other twin happens early in Day 2. And yes, if you flirted with one of the twins, the other one will not be happy about it.
@Sashira I’ve interacted with them both and did realize that they aren’t just clones with different genders (sorry if that’s how it came across, didn’t mean to imply lazy writing or anything like that). I was just curious about their personalities. Artemis is more hotheaded Hunter is more calculating etc.
Oh god, I can’t wait to see Hunter’s reaction to my Wendigo liking Artemis.
So is there a possibility of someone coming to defend the mc from Hunter/Artemis if the mc is a Goblin or a Wendigo?
I mean, typically when someone sees a guy with a criminal record attacking a girl that is scared of her own shadow and looks like she hasn’t eaten or slept in years (my Wendigo) they would probably step in.
Edit: It would also probably make sense for someone to interfere if Hunter attacked the Succubus. Guys tend to get involved when they see girls being attacked. Really, I think the only way someone wouldn’t try to stop Hunter if they saw him attacking is if you’re the male werewolf or a big snob
The area you’re in is notably low traffic but…that’d be interesting. Maybe a choice where less physically adept or more cunning characters could call for help and act like they were being attacked.
A few basic differences - Hunter is more hot-headed, quick to anger, but he also brushes it off easily. He doesn’t let anything bother him for long. Artemis is harder to provoke (this is why your insult towards her in English class is worse, to get the same response) but has hidden wells of repressed fury. I think she’s probably the scarier of the two.
Artemis is more intellectual. She reads more and chooses her words carefully. Hunter is more laid-back and goes on instinct. Both are troubled if you shake their core beliefs, both are dealing with their past, but their responses to that are slightly different.
There is an opportunity on Day 2 to make Artemis cry; Hunter, when his sister is unhappy, forgets all of his own troubles to rush into protector mode and comfort her. Artemis is more likely to show her support for her brother by getting upset and stabbing you.
There’s more, but that’s a good basic picture.
In sixth period? No, you’re alone out there and the shop room is empty. In general? Yes. Hunter and Artemis are wary of witnesses. They will avoid attacking you where anyone can see.
Thanks for the clarification, while they obviously don’t react to things the same, it was hard to get a read on them comparatively when, as of now, you can only encounter one per playthrough.
@Sashira is hunter suppose to immediately attack me when I go to talk to him in the alley?
Not in my playthroughs. I’ve only had to fight him/her when initiating combat.
P.S. If, as a Wendigo, you told Hunter/Artemis you’d rip out their intestines and eat them before losing it completely, will they be afraid of you in the future? Also, will we ever have a chat with our LI about certain struggles monsters deal with?
E.x.
Wendy Wendigo: “Every second of every day, gnawing away at me to eat something, someone, and it never goes away. Some days, I’m afraid I’ll just snap, killing and eating everyone in this school just to make the hunger stop for a little while.”
Weird i have played as both a vampire and a demon and right after choosing the option to talk to him about why he dislikes me. I get options to react to him attacking me
Don’t know if someone’s mentioned this already, but here’s something weird I noticed. When you see Benny for the first time as a werewolf one of the options is this:
“You have an arrangement - you step in when you see him being bullied by kids less intimidating than you, and he helps you with your homework. It works.”
I don’t know many high schoolers more intimidating than a werewolf who is also a star athlete.
Maybe a Wendigo, who eats people…
You used to be able to talk, but that changed with the update. Now Hunter will try to kill you. Not sure about Artemis though
