One of the main reason i will side with Red Light is that i think he has connection with Sweet sound’s faction, and for me it is important to gain powerful and loyal allies as early as possible… because loyal friends/allies will be more valuable in the long term, with backup from Red Light and his hidden faction… i can enlist their help in dealing with future super power individuals as well as triple N/the Rust and other tabloids . So i would think alliancing with Red Light is more of a Mutualism between us, as compare with appeasing triple N / the Rust … where the main benefit is money , even though the so called triple N may still help us in certain resource , i think our relationship is not build on Mutualism …i will forever be a pawn/henchman for them
That’s the reason i will sided with certain heroes/ villains that will gain me equal respect based on Mutualism , where i can use it to either deal with more dangerous criminals and to appease triple N… for Triple N / the Rust, i will make sure to give them something that will make them feel good to maintain a basic employer/employee relationship, as long as i have my usefulness to them …they should tolerate me, so in the end, i am playing judge, jury and executioner on who should the tabloid expose and who should the tabloid save
That of course is essential for me to keep Valkyrie as safe as possible, i will cover for Lucy no matter what , so manipulating the story within the tabloid is a start… i can even write her as a heroine…Lol
Well…i admit i am no Saint , so naturally i am bias and will take on the press with their own game
Why in the world am I only seeing this now…Lordy…I’m in love I needz the angst…I need the option to unmask then don’t because if it’s a hero I’m to nice and if it is a villain and bae…to scared lord…I can’t wait for more!!!
Am just excited for the case(s). There’s something that doesn’t add up and part of me wonders how much of that did the Ex know that led them to where they are now
Definitely depends on who you’re unmasking, though generally I’d say that this is the case.
Example: I really don’t think anyone in the heroic community would mind if you unmasked Igneous… Nobody really likes him in there.
Delicious revenge is best served on a paper plate and a dash of printing ink.
I love all the little requirements here, it’s great.
Makes a lot of sense, a very pragmatic point of view.
The thing about Lullaby in specific, however, is that Moriarty would never really need to interact with her, since there’s, quite literally, nothing to dig up. She’s extremely public and straightforward about what she does, and as a result, The Rust has never written, well, anything on her- since anything they want to publish she admits or says herself before they can even get it past the printer.
Sentry, on the other hand, will be a very fun case that I can’t really say anything about for the time being.
I look forward to seeing how (or if) your MC’s views change with time in regards to Sentry.
Triple N will be an interesting opponent as well as ally for someone like your MC. On one hand, like you said, they’ll utilize your skills and reward them accordingly… when your goals line up. Otherwise, you might end up fighting against your own paper to get things published.
Very, very true.
There’s definitely some good life style options planned in the future. Especially apartments. Eventually, if all goes to plan, you should be able to move into one of Nickelport’s high rises, which like I’ve said before won’t have any real impact on gameplay but will have some fun flavor text passages attached to it. (Or, if your MC wishes and gets close enough with V (Vince, in his case), then he could also move in with Vince. Who is definitely one for the good life.)
Hmm… None of the backgrounds are particularly ‘rich’ persay but I’d say that if you live with your Grandma then she was pretty well off.
The backgrounds are essentially:
Grow up in a Nickelport apartment with your parents.
Grow up on a ranch with your Aunt far away from Nickelport.
Grow up in the small town suburbs with your Grandma, a little ways out from Nickelport but not by much.
A m a z i n g.
They both sound great and I agree, investigation skills are something of a must here.
Some very interesting plans you have here! I can’t really comment on them, as that would include spoilers, but I look forward to seeing how they play out/change!
Aha! Well, everyone manipulates their stories somehow here. So why not for her?
Aaah, thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoyed what’s up so far! And looking forward to more! I’ll be sure to do my best!
Once we get past the memories and the interview you’ll start to get the key connection in… pretty much all of the main cases. (There’s two facets to this over all plot: the individual cases, and the thing connecting them). So after that things will pick up quite a bit in the way of adding up and Ex’s role in all this. (And why the two of you divorced.)
I’ve been working on the names for the main cases, once I solidify them in my mind I might put them up here so that I can keep track of how far into each one we are and also just for fun/as a bit of a sneak preview as to what these cases will be. (I know that we’re about 40% through Red Light’s, and should be at about halfway once I get to the part where everything starts to connect more. I’m thinking of naming that one Ready, Set, Go since it fits both the hero and the fact that it’s the opening case.)
Like @Umbreonpanda said! I just revamped the gender selection page to allow for a more varied/wider range of identities!
Precisely , i will ensure i also uncover certain “useful” information about Triple N as well , and to keep record of his “dubious” instruction on unmasking certain heroes… that’s why i need Red Light as a potential ally, because he is new into the business …full of ideals and hence more eager to consider me as “equal” should we work together , especially when i inform him of what i suppose to do with him Triple N is an establish power , he will never consider me as equal…Lol , and he is the boss right? let just say i am a bit rebellious against bosses …unless of course they view me as an equal
Just my day dreaming now , i could …perhaps … one day … poke a stick into the hornet nest , and write “something” about triple N, and well… of course i will need some back up then
Yes… the pen is mightier than the sword , what better way to temp her back to me ? it should be the pen is lovelier than the rose
Yep, though my second mc is unashamedly and unabashedly a tabloid reporter, so if he has any salacious facts to go with the unmasking he’d probably publish them anyway. Again, unless they have more blackmail value to allow him to turn certain people into informants or otherwise extract favours that are worth more then the glee he’d get from publication.
Moriarty is more restrained, provided he respects the hero in question. It’s sort of high praise if his unmaskings read like a cross between dry PSA’s and a scientific paper, on the other hand beware if they are engaging, well-written and salacious prose that reads like a good mini mystery novel.
Let’s just say that would be a rather unique situation where my mc would be really twisted between his growing affections for Ricky and his principles.
I imagine neither my main nor second mc will ever really be in line to win the employee of the month award, eh?
Sounds good, but I do hope granny had better taste then one of those awful “McMansions”, a really nice bungalow is much better (and actually often built to higher quality standards) even if it is a bit smaller.
May be good for my main mc, who has more “small town” then city slicker values and is probably never really comfortable in the city but, like many young(ish) people has no other choice but to live in one due that being where the jobs and work are.
Some good day dreaming to do, I’d say! As for the chance to get back at Triple N… You may have your chances.
After all, it’s the MC’s job to dig up dirt, isn’t it? Triple N has quite a lot of dirt swept beneath the rug.
I’ll admit Lucy was never one for poetry but I get the feeling she’d appreciate a story or two in her favor. (There’s essentially none right now, aha.)
Yay! I’m glad it seems to work well!
Also thank you for pointing out the error! I’ll fix that up right away!
To be fair not everything they give is gossip articles. I mean, even just from what you’ve seen of the Red Light article so far it’s pretty plain that something is up. Even when their intentions aren’t always… the best, sometimes it can lead to an… interesting discovery.
Which Villain You Should Date Based On Your Sandwich Preferences
Maybe.
Hey, like I said, you gotta have fun with what you do, right?
Also very very cool!!
Gotta love moral and personal dilemmas- the spice of life.
Admittedly most likely not, aha.
Although from what I’ve heard of your second reporter I get the sense that Triple N might like him a tad bit more- since he seems more willing to publish what they ask him to, at least, and perhaps drag someone’s name through the proverbial mud a tad bit more than was asked for (which they aren’t gonna complain about.)
It’s definitely more of the smaller cottage-style house at the end of cul de sac than a McMansion. The Grandma has some wealth since she was a semi-famous reporter herself (looking up to her will be one of the options for why the MC, before the divorce, would’ve wanted to be a reporter- if they were one, that is), but she doesn’t live in any large or extravagant house.
That’s a fun background as well! I can definitely see a countryside MC feeling a little out of place in the big city.
Finley teasing Cass on this and it’s something of an embarrassing “I Did What I Had to Do.” Also unsurprisingly Harbinger may or may not have a more flattering description compared to the other entries
Honestly, my MC just wants to get the meatier assignments because she believes that’s how you can hold people accountable :)) she’s done with what she deems as rabbit food
Her: this hero’s death is definitely foul play how can we not look into it? How did we not investigate that?
The Higher Ups: ehhhh, it’s been what 3 years? Not interesting anymore so why put resources to a dead case? BUT we hear that the young ones think this celebrity is secretly this hero because of the shape of their butt and we want you to cover that
If you mean superhero/villain pieces that aren’t as serious then yes, you’d be paid for those as per normal. Regular fluff pieces… less so. Triple N doesn’t exactly pay their Rust employees much for their cover identity pieces, as a form of punishment-as-incentive for making them pay more attention to the Rust articles.
I feel like anything you have to ask whether or not counts as a sandwich would point to Likewise being the Villain For You.
