That could work. Thanks for the suggestion!

My today’s gripe: it’s frustrating how little people appreciate how much skill making good quality comic/cartoon-style art takes!

(And that was a needlessly complicated sentence, but blergh. I don’t have enough oxygen, you can’t expect my brain to work properly.)

So your gripe is why we ‘little people’ appreciate art so much? Hmph! Rude. What do you even want us little people to do?

Overly complicated sentences are overly complicated.

Of course it rains in the middle of a heatwave. I mean, why wouldn’t it

I have most of my game set in the past and I’d love to reference some of the older CoG/HG titles. Just a play on their names (e.g. change the titles), maybe a sentence for a no spoiler summary..

Has that been done before? Or am I talking crazy and I should reach out to all the authors first?

You don’t need to ask permission! I’ve seen a number of references in published games. The Tally Ho boat names are delightful!

I’m always hearing good things about that. I’ll check it out on payday, cheers!

UnNatural references other Hosted Games that exist in my universe as either books, films or videogames and all the fake adverts between episodes reference other games as well.

I did contact the relevant authors, but that’s just me.

Yeah multiple games reference other CoG/HG works (Zombie Exodus is another that comes to mind), it’s not anything new or taboo. Asking the relevant authors first is the courteous thing to do, but beyond that go nuts.

Tallyho having an entire section where the default names for your boat during the racing championship are all puns based off of COG titles comes to mind

I’m making cold brew coffee at home now. Really easy and it tastes better than espresso-based drinks! I like to have a nice coffee in the morning, write for two hours before work, and then do some light editing in the evening. They say if you have a routine, it feels good.

My morning routine really kickstarts my day and gives me energy and motivation while also tricking me into being productive. And I fucking hate mornings.

I basically exercise right after rolling out of bed, then do my chores, shower, eat breakfast, walk the doggy, read some philosophy, then play some chess. Then I’m ready to write and work and do house stuff whether I want to be or not

The early morning workout is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it makes it harder to drag yourself out of bed. On the other hand I somehow end up with more energy after running 4k than before.

Morning workouts are so good! You get back more time and energy than you spend on it. I don’t know how it works. It’s magic.

I can’t run 4k but I do 4 minute planks

I always feel exhausted yet much more energized afterwards. Exercise is a crazy thing

To be fair, I run those 4 kilometres very slowly.

That’s a very interesting system! I was also experimenting with a luck system I call “Fortuna’s Grace”. Basically, if the MC isn’t good at something, they aren’t automatically going to fail. Rather, a 10 number dice is rolled.

Numbers 1—6 is failure. 7—10 is success. If success is achieved, than another die is rolled. 1—5 is succeeding decently/barely. 6—8 is a good success. 9 is great. 10 is perfect (which can have negative consequences such as accidentally killing when going for a decapitation cause the arrow happened to strike the heart).

I don’t take morning walks, but I have this weird thing where I can’t contemplate when sitting still, so whenever I get an idea/want to think deeply, I start walking in circles in my room. I spend at least 1—2 hours this way. It’s pretty great (You get lots of ideas)! I definitely recommend it!

I prefer walking around in the apartment - more space to move, and there’s a chance of getting some housework done on the side. It’s more useful to me. Unless I get so carried away with scrubbing a toilet that I forget what I was doing.

I have this smartwatch that tracks how many steps I take each day. 10,000 steps is the goal! Just walking is great for your health.

Apropos of nothing, is the expectation that the reader will inevitably learn the traumatic backstory of RO who has one? How much of a letdown would it be, if they only got “the less said about it the better”?

I mean, this is a character who forged a whole new identity as a supervillain to escape their past, and refuses to respond to anything but their villain name.
