Hello and welcome everyone to May 2025 Writer Suppord Thread.
This is first time for me to create this thread and I’am honored and thankful to do this.
I wanted to do this because of in memory of Britani @Eiwynn
I’am sorry I can’t prepare any helpful articals because of University.
Unfortunately I have no goals for May because I’am writing a Thesis.
By the way thanks for the opportunity @HarrisPS
In May, I would like to write 25k words and finish writing Meteoric
Hello @Samuel_H_Young
I hope you wil reach your goal. Goodluck. And wow are you in the finish line? İmpressive. Congrats.
Thanks!
You are welcome.
@Samuel_H_Young
I want to write 100 words a day, but improve 1% a day. At this rate, I could write 3700 words a day by the end of the year.
Hello @dozendietcokesaday
Looks like a good strategi. I hope you wil reach your goals. Goodluck.
Still April 30 for me, which is too long and too short at the same time. Like, what do you mean I’m not done with the work day? And what do you mean May is tomorrow?
In a couple weeks’ time, I’ll have been at this new job for three months. There are some things that have become near intuitive now, while there still remain others that I’m learning/have yet to learn. It’s not really clear what’s going to happen with this, if they’ll want me to stay, if I truly want to stay. No idea what this next month is gonna look like for me. Hope everyone is well
My goal for the month is to continue to write (or edit) every day in any amount, and to release the monthly content update for my WIP. After suffering some delays last month, I have less time to work with, so we’ll see how we go. Even if I don’t get as much content out, I will still be able to release something.
Oh wow. This topic came out much earlier than I’m used to!
Last month, I made my goal of 30 k words written, but I didn’t get all of the chapters finished I wanted. This months goals, I’d rather not do. I’ve been beating myself up for not being ready to submit by mid May, like I was hoping, so I’d rather not set any goals this month.
The following videos will hopefully help with someone’s writing this month!
On using the unknown to make tension within your stories.
Writing Fight Scenes, sentence by sentence.
This month’s goal is simple: Complete, play-test, and release Lily Adventuresses! Episode 2. I already have the endgame all planned beforehand, so I have to write what I consider the most tear-jerking final battle I’ve ever conceptualized in my entire life. And before anyone asks, the final antagonist is an outright anti-villain, and what I personally consider to be the ultimate one, at best.
I just have one goal for May, and it’s the standard one:
- 40,000 words on BotL
I had a chapter release last month, so that’s not likely to happen again until at least the end of June or early July, so really all I have to do is keep writing.
Good luck, everyone!
Back in January, I set just four goals for the year—one of them was getting a laptop. I finally bought one a few days ago, only to enjoy it for a week before the cooler decided to give up on me. So now, I’m back to square one. Luckily, it’s fixable, but man, it’s frustrating to wait so long for something, only to have it break almost immediately. Feels like the universe is testing my patience.
Awesome! I’m writing a long fight scene but I did it without reading any guides at all. Just trying things out to see what works. I’ll look at this afterwards and see how it compares!
I love the stacking goal!
I have a goal - join the monthly Writer Support Thread.
Done!
I’d like to complete at least the next Hall in my chapter (Petrology) and then ideally also the Hall of Primates. Also complete the final hall will complete the third floor but I suspect that is a reach: the Hall of the Natural History of Man grew out of the Eugenics Movement so I have to make sure my research is solid on that one.
I know this is random, but if I may ask, what is your ELO?
I suppose I sneaked in a couple obligatory chess mentions in Meteoric so only a little random. I’m 1800 USCF
