What??? I didn’t get this, omg I would die. I’m dying now and I haven’t even read it myself. So you think Impy sent Winter. Hmm. I need to read that again. Argh, so many questions.
I did ALL the cases, except the, y’know, the main assassination one, which I stop after the apothecarium step for lack of time . Sidequests will be the death of me.
I’ve messed around with all of them, but I haven’t decided on a “canonical run” for Lux 1 yet, so for now, only the Lady Anya rescue and the Imperion (“Imperion”) visit next day are set in stone for me. I like the Geoffrey subplot though, and I don’t care about Kyran.
It is possible to open all the cases, but to pursue them all I don’t think it is possible.
For example, if you do Both the Kidnapping and the Person’s Rest case, you can’t investigate Geoffrey before his death or continue to improve your profession.
@Hayden_Winter Okay whar scene did he say that line? I need it!
@Hayden_Winter I only did Lady Anya and Dandy (on his playthrough) but it was tricky.
You can edit your post if you want to add something by clicking on the pen icon, this way you don’t have to double-post.
It comes up here for example (while you’re riding, but before you’ve reached Dree), but I’m pretty sure their interruption isn’t tied to the parents-dialogue and just triggers after a while, because I think I’ve had them interrupt me with the same question while we were talking about other stuff.
@Hayden_Winter WOW!! I can’t believe this. I totally missed this. He sounds so much more into you in that scene. Man, I must be easy I fell for him with so much less.
(Thank you regarding double post)
I generally tailor the cases being pursued around the RO being pursued. My MCs with Dandy and Lamuel ignored most of the ‘important’ stuff going on to focus on their boyfriends and careers; the MC with - well maybe not “with”, how about “adjacent to” - Orion focused on him and Imperion-related matters; the MC who is shaking her head at Gunther focused on him and the murder investigation; and the MC with Kyran was… sort of unfocused, actually, still not sure where I’m going with her.
I always investigate the assassination case whenever my mc is with K. I feel as if that case tells a lot about who K is. But my number one case will always be the druid’s case (have no clue if the case is called that)… the halfling is incredibly interesting and I can spend all my day with him.
It’s not fair how the quests as a magic scholar (or whatever my job was in that personal test run I did for reasons I don’t even remember) are so much funnier than everything else. “tiny shrieks of the dying bookworms” is a sequence of words that will forever live rent free in my head, and so will the option of setting yourself on fire and running through the room, burning books and bookworms.
@Hayden_Winter I loved the scholar route. I haven’t decided which class is my canon. Too much to choose from.
I’m canonically from Blackstone, that much I can say, and my weapon is a master dagger called “Kinship” because… well, there’s “kinship” and since I had to choose, I decided to worSHIP KIN, so… Yeah… Whatever, I’m actually proud of this one and no one can take this from me!
Originally my ambition was always to become an assassin, but I didn’t like the guild quest for that so far tbh, then I replayed as a thief, which had a much more interesting sidequest in Lux, but I still wasn’t completely happy. I tried the investigator route but that feels utterly pointless, because it’s ironically the only quest line in which you don’t really investigate so far. Like, all the other cases have you investigating and the investigator job has you handing out flyers. FFS I saved Sordwin, this is beneath me!
What did y’all name your ponies?
Evertree Inn was actually the first CG I ever played that let me have a mount and name it, and (I couldn’t tell you why if my life depended on it) I wanted to call mine “Versus”. But my hand slipped, or maybe the autocomplete acted up or whatever, and the name I mistakenly entered was actually “Versa”. And I kept it as a joke. And from there on, I’ve always called every single mount in every single CG “Versa”.
Even my phone knows by now.
She’s brown, and boring, but a good girl.
Pony
Is it just the pony or an ongoing theme?
Weapon: Sword named sword
MC: Elf named elf
Like with Tarlonniel, it depends a bit on who my character for a particular playthrough is romancing, but I’ve nearly always tried to spend at least some time both on the Gubrick case and on the “dream profession” of my character.
The main differences is in how much time, if any, my characters spend on the Imperion-related cases.
The characters who have romanced L or D have nearly always gone with their RO on their “special evening”, though they’ve often followed O half of the way for the case of Imperion’s daughter, before heading back to Lux.
Those who have romanced Ruby or Orianna follow Orianna on the case of Imperion’s daughter and usually stay with her until we’ve found a solution to the Imperion’s case, whether this is the solution that will make Imperion happy or the other, more kinder one. The only exceptions have been a couple of times(only on the Ruby route I think) where I let my characters get back earlier to avoid being guilted for having stood up K. This was before I understood that the only way, when your character is single, to avoid the COG to treating your character as if having a date with K that evening even if your character’s never actually committed to that seem to be to straight up reject K. This is actually a bit annoying, by the way, but I digress.
The characters who romance Orianna have always taken the “farmer” quest. The other ones usually don’t and focus either on the bordello(if they have found the clue that points them in that direction), sometimes the bar if they haven’t any clues pointing them towards the bordello and sometimes just ignoring following clues to get a good nigh’s sleep(after all the next day’s a big day).
IIRC the druid is always a brownie, just like the shaman, but then again the shaman and druid case seem to be essentially the same.
You can do the entire case AND do L’s special evening.
Yes, that one only takes up 2 time slots if you know what to do.
I know that it’s possible in theory, but in practice it seems like you have to do everything related to that case just about perfectly and not least, time it just perfectly. Since I, while I do know how to find a solution to that case, I don’t know how to time things so perfectly that my character will be able to get back in time for L’s (or D’s) special evening, I just don’t want to take any chances, and always make sure that my character is back in good time for that special evening. Particularly with L, because the one time my character didn’t do that, this lead to a lot of pain that I don’t want to experience again and that I don’t want any more of my characters to experience.
