u/greymeta made a very detailed guide on that on reddit, here’s the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/choiceofgames/comments/kzt7ku/help_with_sordwin_achievements/gjpw2qg?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
Also, I’m wondering if it’s even possible to get maximum or almost maximum bonus for Chapter 7 if your companion is Leah? I was always able to do it easily with Gunther and Daisy, but never with Leah.
I’ve been wondering if I should reformat this and bring it over here. The post was deleted and that makes it harder to find if you had not commented on there.
Ah, to hell with it. Have a new and slightly improved guide to Dear Diary achievement!
Though there are only 7 entries, the game has kindly provided multiple chances to find most of them. This list is arranged chronologically, but I’ll mark down which encounter provides which entry.
(spoilers underneath all these)
In Chapter 2
- (Entry 1) You’ll find something floating around in the wind after Ori and you got chased out of the post office. This is automatically given to you as long as you passed a simple stat check.
- (Entry 3) Choose to end your investigations on time and you’ll get another entry while relaxing at the fountain.
In Chapter 3
- (Entry 3) If you had brought over someone from Evertree, you can ask your ally if they had managed to find out about anything at the beginning of this chapter.
- (Entry 6) Choose to talk to the healer while you’re in the town hall. When he is distracted by your ally, sneak in and visit the victims. Feel free to do your investigations and whatnot, but make sure to end things early by picking “I’ll leave now. I don’t want to get caught.” Your ally will make it obvious when you’re about to be found out.
In Chapter 4
(Entry 4) Just one encounter this time! Search the surrounding area of the post office and you’ll find a bird with a piece of paper in its beak. Scare it off successfully–if you’re summoning an elemental, make sure to go with air–for this page.
In Chapter 5
(Entry 3) Some prerequisites: You have to have met Lolli before and also be on friendly terms with her, or else you can’t even get this entry.
After running away from the Hooded Lantern (leaving Ori for dead in the meantime–say goodbye to all that goodwill), you’ll come across a cat who will lead you to the Beth House. Lolli will recognise you and allow you to hide with the Beths. She will also give you another piece of the diary.
In Chapter 6
- (Entry 6) If you had already found at least one piece of the diary before, you can ask Mayor Grow about it by showing it to him. He will give you this one if you had not found it before.
- (Entry 4) On your way to your second location, you’ll find a seagull’s nest with a piece of paper. Steal it for another entry.
- (Entry 2) Visit the blacksmith’s house. You’ll find Chrysanthemum Grow walking around doing faceless people things. She’ll be clenching a diary entry in her hand. When given the chance, say that she is re-enacting her wedding to get it.
In Chapter 8
- (Entry 5) Do NOT visit Jewel Farthing’s house first. Go visit another location and your ally–as long as you didn’t have a fallout with them in Chapter 7–will give you this piece when you come back. This is the only place where you can get entry 5; it’s very very easily missable.
- (Entry 2) Is Sebastion still alive? Good! You can visit the bookshop and ask him for any ideas about the person responsible. He’ll give you this specific diary entry if you missed the chance to get it earlier.
- (Entry 3) If you had seen Mrs Beth or Lolli before, you can visit the Beth family. The place will be abandoned except for a child doing a reenactment of the ending to The Blair Witch Project. Pry this entry from his clenched hand and escape asap.
- (Entry 7) When at Jewel’s house, choose to visit the “landing at the top of the central stairs”. You’ll find her bedroom where you can examine a book for the final piece of the diary.
It was really useful thanks both of u :), now i have to keep Sebastian with a face
Just because I’m thinking it’s going to be fun, i intend to make a thief halfiling to be a best friend of our dear half orc (maybe romance, I’m not decided about it yet) i already got the max of a mage char, I’m going to start playing with the others stats, cause i intend to play a lot at Lux and i need more chars to play on all jobs.
I’m also thinking about making a human, but i really can’t decide what job give to him, since it’s a balanced race
You could try maxing out Determination/Compassion with a human to pursue the Slayer/Peacemaker careers. Or become a Priest where your connection to your deity will be the most important stat (introduced in book 3).
Having high stats in Lux is obviously useful, but the real challenge will be balancing your time and energy to accomplish the tasks that matter most to you
Interesting, a priest of Cri, my chars usually try to save people, it should be a nice change and a good char to romance Winter
Hello again everyone, i did my halfling spy
It was interesting, my objective was a char with guile as a main stat and perception as secondary, the thing is… It’s too hard, cause guile and perception has low combat power, so i had to raise my combat stat to save everyone at the inn, and my char got pretty balanced on guile, perception and combat, but i did got what I wanted in the end, that was it for book 1. On book 2, my objective was the same, and yes, i could do everything I wanted, getting both perception and guile stats above 75, lots of money, got all diary fragments… And somehow, i ended up romancing Oriana but Gunther is a pretty good friend. Anyway, i just like to share XD
My Elf Battlemage MC doing his hero stuff and adventures with his trusty pony.
I used this site to create him.
I’m not the most artistic person, but i tried doing the same for my mage/investigator/druid char, my staff is already modded after Sordwin (I presume a magic mineral is blue)
I spent a while creating my elf spy Axilia atop her nobel steed Shade, but then I couldn’t save it. None the less, let it be known she was dressed up in all her finery ready to inflitrate the nobility.
Yea,it’s actually a paid subscription,
But,it doesn’t mean you have to pay for it,Just do what I did, take a screenshot after completion of the Avatar and then edit it.
I just SS and cut it down, i would buy if i was the kind of people who uses it a lot, but i was just curious to see Luck (my mage name)
Does anyone know if the save feature has been unlocked for Sordwin?
Not yet
Yeah, not yet. I’m hoping it will be soon as I need to test it, haha! I’ll let everyone know on here and on social media when this function gets added. T
I was about to start my long list of saves in preparation for Lux.
Is it something that CoG has to turn on at their end?
Yup, I have no control over when the feature gets added. It’s an HG decision based on a number of internal factors.
I don’t know if what I’m going to ask is against the rules or not, if it is, just tell me and ignore, cause I’m going to delete this.
But have you already finished and just waiting the HG to make the final touches (save tests and the likes) or there are some game content left?
