Lux: City of Secrets - Book 3 of The Evertree Saga by Thom Baylay

My halfling actually has a really high Compassion stat. I want to test whether it’s actually possible to play compassionate priest of Cri. But my spy is the one I’ll play first.

Kind of hard, since his faith stat is raised by people dying, but it should be fun anyway

Hmm, so you are the type who want their character to have at least an athletic body instead of a fragile, skinny one although it wouldn’t provide any benefit. I thought I’m the only one

It’s kind of useful in fact, like when we’re climbing the observatory stairs, if u don’t have enough athletics, you end up using more time, cause u have to stop to rest, or when you try to run for whatever reason, or to swim from the boat until the sea without problems

Hello, it’s me again in my search for the perfect char before Lux, I’m having a serious problem with getting chapter 4 maximum clues or almost maximum, I’m getting the gold arrow, finding out about the magic outside and the footprints (daisy is my romance), i don’t think I have to use divination to get the maximum of it, can anyone give me some light?

I think you need to use a divination spell for that, actually. At least that’s how I’ve been able to do it :man_shrugging:

While we’re asking questions, can anyone give me some tips on how to max the last two chapters? I did it once but just can’t remember how lol

The final chapter is currently bugged, so it’s almost impossible get a full bonus on that one unless you let Hayden stab you. (It subtracts 2 from your bonus if he doesn’t stab you, rather than if he does.)

Yup, there is a bug. It will be fixed at the same time that the save feature is added to the game.

I just did the divination (apparently we need 75+ will what is quite a challenge at that point XD) from the author style of doing things, I presume there are other ways of doing it with other stats too, but since I’m a mage, I’m going to stick to magic, and i only got almost maximum, I presume i need someone trust above a certain number, so I’m going to try it now.

PS: has anyone ever reached 90+ spellcasting, I’m curious about what kind of spell it unlocks

I’ve just had a look at the code for this chapter and man, I was feeling tough when I did this one haha. It looks like getting the maximum score is probably extremely unlikely without divination and definitely isn’t possible for every combination of skills and ally.
I think I’ll make this a bit fairer in the upcoming patch! Apologies! Stuff like this is hard to catch, even in beta, so thanks for bringing it to my attention

I’d be curious to know this. Has anyone actually managed to successfully summon a manamental before? I don’t actually know if it’s possible, but I put the code in there just in case someone really maxed out their stats :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, a tip for maxing a stat: If you’re trying to push a high stat higher try choosing the option to increase all stats equally. This boost is a flat number rather than percentile can be a good way to push an 89 to a 90.

Just tried… I think it’s impossible atm to raise it to 90, cause u need give all your points to spellcasting and in the last chaps start using the all stats option, but wonly raising spellcasting before, we can’t get enough bonus points to raise it to 90 XD, for example I need a high will to get some clues, i high observation or intuition to get others.
That was my experience

You can increase spellcasting to 90,if in evertree inn it was your main stat, then in sordwin choose the employment with magic as its main stat,
then always choose to increase all stats after every chapter, because spellcasting is basically useless without will.

In sordwin you need time management to gather clues,if you manage time properly you can find almost all clues.

Plus,in my opinion you can raise any stat to 90 if it was your main stat in evertree, you have the employment matching that stat and you know how to manage time in game.

Thank you so much for the hint, i really got my spellcasting to 92 and will to 89, it was my best run (stats wise), as a matter of fact, it could be even higher if i was totally into raising it to the max, but i wanted to do some random things, that cost me about 2-3 points of spell and will.

Spoiler about 90+ magic for anyone who didn’t got it yet manamental is too awesome it can keep the enemy leader all by himself, it cost 70mana, but it’s totally worth it

Just a weird question? Are we keeping our hold-all content from Sordwin to Lux? Reason, i wanna all the books and the 5 star pendant (yeah, i try to keep it at all costs), usually i end up only missing the melee book (if I can get it at Lux, would be great)

Yes, this is very good advice! I got my spellcasting to 95 which I was never even close to doing beofre lol, and my other stats were good as well.
And I agree with @Pedro_Aires, manamental is awesome and totally worth it!

Yes,in Lux we are keeping our hold-all content from sordwin.

In the case of 5 Star pandent I think you are doing something wrong:-choose the option of donating one gold coin to the statue of yla, then the “switchroo achievement” will unlock,in which our MC switch the pandent with coin.

@EpicDragon
No, I’m doing the coin trick, i only said I don’t let it be taken from me (what happens if a hooded lantern hits u), and i know magic is not useful in Sordwin, but i keep it cause i like it XD. Here are my stats at the end of this run, as u can see, i have perception as backup XD

I know I’m talking a lot about sordwin in the Lux forum, but the sordwin is closed so… Anyway, can you people give me some help with the dear diary achievement? I can only find 6 pieces of the diary, from what I heard it should be seven to get the achievement
