@Cheezabelle (and others) How old do you think Hayden is?
It’s impossible to tell, because they can look as young as they want, but for some reason they feel old to me. I’m not sure what it is (working on figuring it out); I thought maybe the callousness, but under the “right” circumstances even a very young person can become callous and cynical. If they were a vampire I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they were 300+.
In the book on races it’s stated changelings “rarely live to be older than one hundred”, so taking that into account I’ll just assume until we have more info that they’ve already the biggest part of their natural lifespan behind them. Which sucks, but feels correct to me.
And also - I know this sounds bizarre, because it’s something my mind totally made up on its own and is never even hinted at, let alone mentioned, in the game itself - their skin while in clay form looks old-ish in my imagination. A bit like actual, old clay that has started to dry out, with small creases and cracks. I “saw” them like that during the betrayal showdown in Sordwin and it’s stuck with me ever since.
Unrelated fun fact: If you meet them for the first time in Sordwin, they ask you to call them Hayden. If you meet them for the first time in Lux, they ask you to call them Captain.
