Legends of Ophelius (Latest update: 6.3.2018)

Will minimize the use of the word!

Thank you for your feedback, murderer! (kidding XD sorry! Had to
)

I’ve never seen people make that mistake before but eh, wouldn’t be surprised. Just to make it clear tho; If you chose you stole, the murderer text is changed to ‘thief’.

It sort of wouldn’t be fitting if it would say ‘thief’ while your biggest crime was actually murder, right?

I used the ${crime} command btw, along with a bunch of other commands, so the the text is based on the character you created during the hero creator.

You may have noticed, the text also seems to know your race, which is all thanks to a similar race command, and a few codes.

I’m with you there, I replayed DAO many many times.

You have a excellent taste of games haha, my list is quite similar, but I would include baldur’s gate series, mass effect, star wars old republic and vampire the masquerade. And recently I played fire emblem awakening and liked a lot too.

Loved it so far looking forward for future updates:hugs:

!!! I LOVED THAT VAMPIRE GAME!!! On my top 10 list of fav games of all time!

And it’s another trojka game (they sadly aren’t around anymore), as is Arcanum btw. But i personally prefer Arcanum.

And I (unfortunately) started playing baldur’s gate pretty late, so I didn’t get the ‘new hype’
 It’s good don’t get me wrong, it’s just now one of my all time favorites.

Fallout 1 and 2 on the other hand
I played early on, and adored.

Also love Pillars of Eternity. XD The begging was quite boring but as I continued the game
it was
awesome!

Oh, and Tyranny! Obsidian 4ever!

Your favorite PC vampire clan btw? Mine was either Tremere or Malkavian (which had all those special dialog options
 :D)

Malkavian I mean
the one with the special dialog.

Minor Legends of Ophelius update: Removed stat visibility and removed some intelligence or charisma etc losses or gains with certain dialog.

I don’t want you to play just for the stats after all.

Also the base stats (Charisma, intelligence, strength and Dexterity) will not be raising or decreasing much after the origin story. (EDIT: Bad wording, since they still will depend if you live or die at times of picks, etc.)

Reasoning: The base stats only go to 10 and you already start off as average on everything, and loss or gain just a bit with the origin story + class pick etc.

I have a weak spot for the original Neverwinter Night + expansions, as it was my first Bioware game, and HotU was the game that made me realise I prefered playing as a male character. it also had the best evil ending ever.

And the toolset being set up to allow you to make your own entire game, instead of just modding the included campaigns, was amazing.
There’s some absolutely briliant fan-made modules out there.

As for DAO, it is an amazing game, and I too draws from it for my own WIP, but both DAII and Inquisition are at least as good in my opinion.

As for Elder Scrolls, Morrowind has the best main plot, hands down.
And if you get tired of it, there the Julan, ashlander companion mod, which really adds to it. And gives you a companion.

I’m planing to buy that as soon as I can justify spending the money.

I’m actually more of a NWN2 fan. XD Despite most people hating on it, i think it had a great, personal story. I felt very involved in it.

DA2 is good, and DAI is great IMO. However, Origins has my heart since forever.

From the ES series
I prefer Skyrim with mods. It’s barely a good game without mods, but with them?? One of the best. So thank god for the community.

Both Morrowind and NWN1 i tried out too late as well. I wish I could go back in time, and play them when they came out. I would most likely lover them too then.

Yeah, they are from that generation of games that didn’t age well, so if you played the later ones first they’re hard to get into.
I noticed, last time I played it, that DAO is starting to fall into that category for me too. :slightly_frowning_face:

NWN2 was a heartwarming, trope-tastic festival of clichés, in the best way, and Mask of the Betrayer was really interesting (and had Gannayev of Dreams, who could make any game amazing!).

I can’t play Skyrim without Interesting NPCs anymore. It’s just so
 empty.
Bethesda games would not be as popular without modding, that’s for sure.

I completely agree with your views on Bethesda games. Also the games perhaps not aging too well. Also about NWN2! And that DLC which I also adored!

Basically, agree on everything you just said! XD BESIDES! That DAO didn’t age well. I played it a while back, and it’s still great for me personally.

It’s still a great game, yeah, but it’s starting to feel old, and clunky, and slightly uncanny to me, the same way those others do.
So I think the people who started their rpg gaming with the newest generation of games, or starts with the next one, will have a hard time getting into it. Which is a damned shame!

(Also, sorry I kinda caused your WIP thread to fall into a tangent, by referencing DAO  )

No worries.

I should (probably) get back on coding and writing up the warrior’s origin though. xDD

Will still respond to - dao or other- posts a bit later though. ^^

Me too, I only played the Enhanced Edition versions, I was having difficulty with the gameplay(died many times hahaha) but I love the story and the companions.

Never played, my weak PC doesn’t have the requirements

I heard of this game recently, from people commenting old games, seems really cool.

Brujah and Malkavian, I got Brujah in the personality test of the game haha. And the malkavian, I laughed the entire game xD. I always wanted to play the book though, has a lot more of customization.

I like all dragon ages, but the origins story and my Warden have a special place in my heart.

You mean the pen and paper game?

I think it’s the voiced protagonist that really adds something for me.
Makes the character feel more real or something.

If your PC can handle DAI, it can defiantly handle POE. Trust me!

And you MUST play Arcanum Steamworks of Magic! I mean, if you don’t mind it being somewhat old lol! It even has a backstory choice in the character creator! And you can play a mage or a tech person
etc.

THOUGH!!! You’ll need a mod called ‘Arcanum multiverse edition’ to make it work, probably. xD Since it’s really bad with new systems,

Additional info: The world of Arcanum (i must warn), is somewhat sexist and racist in a race sense (elf/orc etc). However, no matter how some treat you at the begging, you always have the chance to prove yourself. Plus you can kill that gnome that tries to have his way with you if you’re female
which is pure awesomeness. xDD

Malkavina dialog was for the win! ^^

Yep.

I don’t particularly care, but would be awesome have the warden voiced. In dragon age 2, I prefer playing with a female Hawke because of her voice, don’t know, felt “right” in the sarcastic personality xD

hmm, I will give it a try when i have more free time

hahaha I will play, but will have to wait a little, I’m kinda super busy in the college.

Sigh, everyone thinks so, while I adore male Hawke
 :weary:
It’s just like Mass Effect.

I’ve played quite a bit of VtM pen and paper, and even a little live.
Like with other rpg’s, it’s really fun if the GM and the other players want the same kind of game as you. Else, it gets frustrating, no matter what system you are using.
I have mostly been involved in campaigns where you get to play as the more obscure bloodlines, if you want, which is awesome!
In the campaign we just started, the masquerade was broken. I’m playing a fallen angel, who don’t really care, but the other players are elder vampires (who so far think I’m a random human), so they are caught up in the chaos.

In mass effect I prefer the male voice, is like “that guy is badass”.

I never had the oportunity of playing pen and paper RPG, it’s not very common in where I live

I actually prefer the female voice in mass effect as well. I think it sounds equally badass. ^^ But hey, that’s just my personal opinion + Haven’t even made actual playthroughs with any males, unless i’m forced into it. Since i’m a female IRL and sort of love making myself as a badass, or another female as a badass. There’s too few female badasses in the media I think. So yeah, always love that!

PS: I’d never try to force a female in if it doesn’t fit though. Like in Troy (2004), my favorite movie of all time. All the warriors there were male, but with good reason.
