While it is tempting to be a hunter, I don’t think I’d be comfortable becoming some knight templar that preys on people because their of a different species and use of magic. I could be confusing the definition of hunters in your story to something else If so, please enlighten me. But thank you for answering my question.
How to get pass the sun
The sim
Can’t believe it almost here
Be careful you might jinx it
Well… the original purpose of the Knight Templar is to protect, not to hunt
I’m pretty sure that’s what the Templars in Dragon Age say or tell themselves to justify the mistreatment of the mages under their care. Also I said that I wasn’t sure if that’s the case in this story.
Yeah… not much mentioning about Hunter 's role at the moment … or whether they are as compassionate as in the supernatural tv series…
But historically, Knight Templar and Knight Hospital were less agressive as compare to the Teutonic Order … else the Templar won’t be easily frame by the French King .
I’m familiar with the real life history of the Templars. What I should have said was a hateful zealot who persecutes those that’re different and claim to do it under the guise of a mission for peace.
I know that bit, but that clothing is cheap and basic, since it is part of Astrid $1000 advance to the mc and most of that is spent on school stuff an a magi laptop. Since they did not go thrift store hunting for quality second hand items what the mc has got is fast fashion worth a total of about 2-300 dollars. Needless to say if you don’t go hunting for quality second hand items your money doesn’t buy (m)any nice items for that kind of money. Certainly not real leather.
If you choose kitsune will you be able to obtain 9 tails or not?
I think it depends on the hunter. Some (such as the pair who “recruit” you) are pretty terrible, but others (including the one who trains you) make it clear that (at least as far as they’re concerned), the job of a hunter is to protect humans from dangerous “monsters”.
A hunter MC is pretty much forced into the second role, even if they’ve been adamant about how much they hate the magical world and wouldn’t mind killing everyone there.
Doesn’t it take about a hundred years to grow a single extra tail?
The demo ends there, the full game comes out on jan 24th.
But why would you buy real leather?
y i k e s
Because it looks and feels nice and sexy.
Because most “pleather” used in clothing is cheap Chinese crap that itches smells bad, doesn’t breathe and creaks terribly?
Because my mc (and I myself) likes it?
Really do I need much more of a reason than the fact my mc likes it and it looks good on him?
But why buy it when you can borrow from your boi Cy? I don’t know if he actually wears real leather. And I don’t think MC’s everyday clothing was ever mentioned more than twice in the actual text which might give you a chance to imagine your MC with leather clothes. Does it matter where it came from? magical leather clothes that appears from thin air sounds like the most normal thing in a magical world
Plus, it’s your imagination and the author’s intent is for your imagination to control most of the story. And I don’t think the author wants to focus on every detail in the game, I think the customization is fine at it is. But maybe in the sequel the MC’s economical situation might be better and your MC can ditch faux leather?
The problem is that labeling collective species of supernaturals as ”potential hostile” and learning to fear their numerous natural or trained abilities, tends to result in an “us against them” mentality.
This mentality quickly twists ”Protect” into “Defeat” and “Observe” into “Interrogate” or in the case of this story “Infiltrate”.
There are undoubtedly good hunters, and even some of the bad ones may simply be caving into pressure from aggressive, charismatic, or highly respected extremists of the group.
I never got past meeting the first hunters. My first impression of them is that bad.
Because to date we cannot borrow a leather jacket or any other clothing really from Cy.
Cyrus even mentioned asking him in-game when he sees the mc in Leon’s suit, but it is never possible or practical do so in-game as he lives over at another university, which the mc never visits except for the party.
Lastly, there is also the fact that my mc would prefer to have his own stuff.
My second mc would love to “borrow” one of Cy’s jackets but since Cyrus is not as oblivious as Leon he’d notice us wearing it or it being missing. His reaction to seeing a male mc who romances him wearing one of his leather jackets might actually be a cute scene in the next game or else on Tumblr.
The mc’s economic situation is exactly why I cannot just imagine it. As we have very little money in-game and are not allowed to get our mc’s stuff from their home. Unless the mc actually goes home for the winter break, which means not spending it with Alty, the earliest opportunity we have to get our old wardrobe is at the very end of the game, which would indeed mean we can only start to wear it (again) at the beginning of the second.
As for customization, I guess having the option to take our old things with us after winter break and having the change of style acknowledged would be nice as would having it at the beginning of the second game.
In the first one the money situation of the mc always remains crap and if Astrid compels her advance back the mc might not even have any and her advance only buys us the bare essentials and cheap ones at that. So jeans, sneakers t-shirt. The only change I envision my mc buying at Kerse makes is that they are mostly all black, instead of Kol’s print t-shirts.
As to it being “better” in book 2, I don’t really see how the mc is still a student at the same university with likely an even more overloaded schedule after the big reveal at the end of the first book. And the “Keeper” does not seem like it would be particularly lucrative or pay even a penny.
Our non-magical relatives don’t seem to be allowed to support us and non of non-magical bank (savings) accounts seem to work in the magical world. And my mc at least would aggressively reject any “support” his deadbeat of a magical “dad” might suddenly deign to “offer”.
My mc never buys faux leather to begin with (the cheap stuff is horrible and the decent stuff is more expensive than the real deal while still being somewhat lacking), which would be why switching to his old or normal wardrobe would be one of those customization changes I would like. Courtesy of your boy Leon my mc dresses (up in) the magical variant of preppy/fashionable in-game whenever it really matters and atrociously or at least cheaply for ordinary classes. Fortunately, he wouldn’t be the only guy on campus to dress in jeans, t-shirts and ratty sneakers, but it is far from his preferred style.
RO thoughs on Cyrus
Altair - “He’s a good person, even if he’s a bit rough around the edges.”
Astrid - “He’s a jerk who likes to pretend he’s not a secret softy.”
Cressida - “He’s not the most polite of people.”
Katia - “He seems kind of scary, but the one time I talked to him he was nice.”
Kol - “I don’t really know him.”
Leon - “Cyrus is funny—and he’s good to complain with.”
Seraphina - “He’s honest, which I can respect.”
Thalia - “He’s a respectable duelist. Ugh, I can’t believe I said that.”
Yakov - “He seems very perceptive.”
He everybody, including the evil dragon seems to like Cyrus. If we include the dragon he scores even better than Altair. To me they’re both super-cute, funny and adorable.
As for Thalia’s comment Cy almost wins the tournament. Though, sadly, neither he never actually fights at the mc’s side. And except for one encounter during winter holiday with him, neither does Alty.
While she is not an RO, but seeing how she is intelligent and comes attached to an RO, I’m kinda sad you always leave Briseis out of it. So could we get the thoughts of Sera’s evil dragon on our potential ro’s sometime too, please?
Also aww…come on, how could the Dragon not like our resident cute incubus, Alty?
@Alice_White
MC isn’t able to fully transform into a fire fox in the first book.

To echo @ParrotWatcher: hunters vary in their morality. All of them see themselves as protecting humans from dangerous supernatural, but what they define as dangerous varies. Some see all supernatural as inherently dangerous, while others, like the hunter MC trains with, only see supernatural that kill humans as dangerous.
I’ll make sure to have a scene in the sequel where MC visits Solanaceae again.
Astrid is no longer able to compel MC.
I had a Tumblr ask a while ago for what Briseis thinks of each of the ROs.
Briseis opinions on ROs
Altair: Threat to be taken care of.
Astrid: Threat to be taken care of. Cannot decide between roasting and grilling though.
Cressida: A poor excuse for a winged being.
Cyrus: Good—For a nephilim.
Katia: Always gives lamb as a treat, so tolerable.
Kol: Should stay away from her and her person.
Leon: A poor excuse for a winged being.
Seraphina: Hers. To he protected at all costs. (Also gives good back rubs.)
Thalia: Competition. Can probably smell the blood on the chicken livers her caretaker feeds her…
Yakov: Will be watching him carefully. He should not go near her person.
