Equipment doesn’t usually cost anything unless you use the shield against either the manticore or hydra since the shield was only a rental. Money isn’t really that useful though unless you buy the wish candle for +5 in any normal skill.
If it’s highly likely I’d still like to see Alty and Cy’s reactions specifically in a short though.

Indeed that looks like Yakov’s friendship route which I had the first time as well. I suppose the distinction can be found by checking whether we sent the invitation (as a friend most likely) or he invited us for a day out (romance) in chapter 7.
Details
I didn’t read any code, but I would advice not asking too many questions when we first conversed with him while he was unpacking. I recall that our relationship started at 52, and it would deteriorate to 49 if all possible questions were asked. And indeed in my case a few relationship points… fewer would hide half the options (6 vs 3) in the scene where he’s reading a book, including the obvious romance option suggested by the author. (“ask Yakov if he’s dating anyone”)
By the way, during my half a dozen experiments on these options, the second romance option suggested by the author ("But what if my reason’s sitting opposite me?”) never occurred to me. Would anyone kindly let me know when was such an option found?

They may have a fit over the show/movie versions of The Mortal Instruments, but I think they’d appreciate the books. Can you imagine a magician MC asking Moriarty if he’s read Harry Potter??

Since it seems a bunch of the characters barely know about the normal human world I wonder how they’d react to action thrillers like olympus has fallen or GI joe where large cities become war zones, Politcal thrillers like house of cards and scandals where the politicians pretty much kill each other and the marvel action movies. I’m curious how much they’d believe to be real.
Indeed, introducing Alty to the culture shock is going to be such delicious fun for my mc. 
Though the magical world here is generally far less clueless than in Harry Potter and as far as politics goes, if Secretary Monroe is any indication the magical world might well have their own House of Cards and West Wing analogues.

Did you by any chance try to use ritual magic to escape Reyna? Don’t (for now) cause it’s bugged and won’t let you save Kol, even if stats-wise you should qualify. Should be resolved whenever the author and Cog implement the next patch.

Ohh I was wondering about that. My first playthrough I punched the final boss in the face and saved Kol but when I ritualed the cuffs I got too wounded to go back.
Was the option written in italic/slanted text?
I think you have to choose “try to use magic as well” in the simulator and choose “Y/N you are not human” when talking with your advisor
That choice is in italic, so yeah, pretty sure it involves willpower.
I know with at least 3-4 willpower, you’ll get that option. So that answers your question @Ananasjuicebrik.
