Also, a quick note: using an old save can lead to bugs if anything is edited in old chapters. I’m trying to add extra code to new chapters to keep this from happening, but just be warned!
Thanks for the catches!
Yes, but it’s easy to get around if someone is skilled enough, like with telepathy and truth potions, and is thus not admissible in court.
Hi! This scene shouldn’t be appearing at all for adopted parents route—do you know what chapter this is in?
@Nyahaha101
Thank you very much for all the catches, and the suggestions!!!
I’m simplifying the human/hunter/magician route to just be centered around finding out your family friend is a magician
I’ve added some more breakup-related narration for the next update. I also found one instance of Leon being improperly called MC’s boyfriend in Chapter 4 and a couple in Chapter 5. Thanks for the catch! Do you happen to recall any other instances of this?
MC needs more friends that aren’t going to end up betraying him lol. My MC’s not really sure how trustworthy Renatus is, which isn’t his fault at all, but my MC wouldn’t touch anyone related to Reyna with a ten foot pole.
Yeah me too. I’m thinking that he may actually be the one that’s been selling MC out behind the scenes. Especially after the whole “bear getting through the wards” incident. It would take someone with special knowledge of how warding works to be able to do that, which means that it probably wasn’t a student, or it was a student who got help from someone.
I hope we’ll have an opportunity to ask Seraphina what the whole conversation with Tremblay was about. I’m betting that she read his mind when he was acting confused to see if he was being genuine or not.
I’m actually going to disagree with you on this one. I think that not having the personality stats affect the gameplay for the most part is a good call. This allows for MCs to grow more organically, rather than having to focus on making choices that align with their stats. For example, an MC that was previously more emotional, may become more logical after realizing all their responsibilities as a keeper. That’s something that would be seen thorugh changes in the personality stats. You wouldn’t be able to play your MC that way if you had to focus on making sure their personality is “consistent”. This allows for more growth for MC.
TL;DR: In my opinion stat checks based on personality stats lead to less organic character growth/change because they make the player have to focus on raising the personality stats they started out with, rather than allowing them to explore how their character would have changed as a result of events throughout the story.
@daydreamsincolor It stood out to me when my character first found out about Celeste. It said she was the older sister to my “boyfriend”.
edit: another question about the series, but will there be more opportunities for a darker path for MC? Like going into more morally dubious territory a la helping Reyna and all.
I really, really, really love that Ebner and Lucas are dating–something about it is just perfect.
I did find a bug–I played a magician, but was still allowed to compete after being told I couldn’t. A *goto command at the end of the choice block right above *label compete would fix the problem.
I also enjoyed the interactive storybooks, but they felt kind of rushed and I struggled to follow them. That might just be my problem though : )
I agree, but your personality stats do affect gameplay in the sense that it affects conversations the MC has and how people perceive them. I think the acceptance/resistance changes are pretty obvious (you get choices to vocalize your dissent, snark back in conversations, become a hunter, have more “human” options and choices), but there are changes for MCs who are more logical, sarcastic, kind. I think people don’t notice because a lot of the time they subconsciously create characters with the same base personality (smart, sarcastic, etc.) so it seems like there isn’t much going on. But just looking at Book One alone, there’s a lot of scenes and conversations between the characters that plays out different depending on your personality. I encourage people to try and play radically different characters sometimes or let their MC be a little more this, a little less that. It’s fun seeing all the changes that are made.
On another note, Tremblay gives huge Lockhart vibes from Harry Potter, which is probably why I feel so distrusting of him lol.
He is similar to Lockhart, I would agree with that. But that would make Ebner Snape. And Snape pined after Lily, while Ebner’s dating our dad. So that would make our dad Lily. Our mom, meanwhile, fits neatly as James during his Hogwarts year. That would make our MC…
From what we have seen from Roxanna up until now, she was a pure Regina George, at least to me😂 On the other hand, James kind of redeemed himself when he jumped in front of Voldy to save his son.
So yeah, not a good comparison overall. Sorry about that😅
Man I really resent the comparison between James and Roxanna. James made mistakes but grew to become a better person. Roxanna, from what we’ve seen, was only ever out for herself.
Yeah, and honestly I don’t want Roxana to turn out to have been a misunderstood wonderful mother and woman. Sometimes, people who should not have kids have kids. It’s a fact of life.
Quick question, but I’m a little confused as to how old Astrid is supposed to be? We’re assuming that your whole suite are first-semester freshmen, but Astrid transferred from another university. This made me think that she was just a slightly older transfer who was set back a semester (because credits and bureaucracy and all). But Altair is a sophomore and her older brother… So is she supposed to be our age or not?
