Well, we’re still studying so I think it’d be more reasonable to take up a part-time job. And the whole keeper thing kind of counts as a job (if you wanna pursue the fame)?

Yeah, just thought it might be useful to have for testing purposes.
Simple curiosity prompted my question more than anything, but my MC is perfectly content with his job as an animal caretaker, animal lover that he is. Plus my MC is financially stable, coming from a middle to upper-middle class family (personal hc), and since he doesn’t have any plans to cozy up to high society or indulge in his newfound fame, extravagance is unlikely.
That’s fair, and I have to wonder how much attention a low-profile MC will get 
Will MC’s face be instantly recognizable to everyone if they don’t seek fame? Maybe people will only recognize MC by name. If so, it may be possible for MC to slip by as a clerk or animal caretaker, if they wish. We don’t know the exact impact of the keeper fame so any speculations on rabid fans or stalkers or the like remain speculations for now–and it may be possible to avoid them altogether, for all we know. Plus the MC does have a say over their occupation, no?

I think someone once suggested that we could choose the MC’s financial situation or something. So your headcanon might become canon.

My headcanon was based on the fact that MC’s human parents are lawyers. So I assume there’s some money to spare? It’s not completely outlandish

Hm, I imagined something generic for my MC’s mom (businesswoman or saleswoman). But it’s all up to the reader to imagine. some people might even headcanon that their human parent(s) are queens or kings

I don’t think the single parents’ occupations were ever mentioned in-game so that could definitely work. I think the parents (or biological aunt and uncle) are canonical lawyers though, since they team up against President Castella at the end.
But ofc everyone has their own headcanons.
I avoided the dad and mom option as soon as I found out that I was adopted and I just stuck with my single mom for the rest of the game lol

I do know of at least one famous vlogging nurse who lost her hospital job over her newfound fame because the press and fans were becoming disruptive a nuisance to the staff and a danger to the patients, I can imagine something similar for the creature caretaker, plus the fact that creatures are even more unpredictable and may become dangerous to the stalkers as well. Though as others have said how big of a problem that becomes would depend on how famous or how much of an “influencer” the mc is going to become.
So the cushy job with Monroe and the playing the private eye with a press pass at NMC news will indeed be gone, or at least changed beyond all recognition? My main mc and witch-boy certainly won’t like that. 
Absolutely out of the question for my main mc! He’ll not work for his deadbeat “dad”! 
Witch-boy might have to take it or switch to the medical center job if that sort of switching is an option.

They’re all pretty grim, really.
Fair enough mine would like his cosy and relatively well paying for relatively little work job with Secretary Monroe to continue, but I think that after the keeper reveal that’s pretty much going to be impossible and he doesn’t want to become Cy’s dad’s latest political prop, certainly not after the whole mind control thing. He would have been happy to continue taking the guy’s money for a sinecure secretarial job with much time for trips to the otherwise unused breakroom but that’s pretty much it.
Similarly, my second mc was drawn to investigative journalism and work behind the camera much more than having to actually appear on camera and having his own personal life dissected.
Both of mine are about in the middle of the middle class though my main mc’s mom was one of those hit by the recent US and worldwide financial crisis and fell temporarily to lower middle class (and we now know Isabella is either too hurt or too proud or both to ask “dad” for financial support) so he did get quite the scare and knows his mother and he himself aren’t really financially stable.
Plus he loves clothes, so not being able to afford the nice ones or at least not being able to afford his own sense of style does bother him a bit and once they are going to turn him into the center of attention then having his nicest look be “dollar store Leon” is going to bother him a lot more. And our poor mc suffers a lot of clothing damage, which means even if we did have some nice clothes the expenses of constantly having to replace them would add up rather quickly. If the mom-threathening and shoe ruining werewolf attack is any indication it will only get a lot worse.
But all of them seem to be worse than the current deal with Monroe (who now owes my mc for the mind control stunt, which means my mc would have been happy to continue to take the guy’s money for a sinecure job of shuffling a few papers around with plenty of break room time.)
We all know that after the reveal that sweet deal is going to be off and Monroe will seek to use us as a political prop somehow. 
And with the TV station job I think it will be done with our freedom to play part-time detective with their press pass and getting paid for fetching coffee. Neither of my mc’s are really interested in a position in front of the camera, particularly if the focus is on them instead of, in the case of my second mc, his stories.
My second mc will probably end up at Practical Magic Innovations, like almost everybody else it seems, but for my main mc that is very much not an option as he’ll not work for his own deadbeat “dad”.
In addition that werewolf scene makes me realize again how much my poor mc’s must miss having their own car/transportation. So sad the hoverbikes have been taken out. 
I headcanon mc’s mom as being some sort of freelancer possibly even one of the relatively few female consultants by now, but only after first being made redundant as a junior executive and her and the mc going through a more difficult time.
As for single dad, always imagined him as a small or even mid-size business owner, so he and my second mc also probably less than stable moments during the recent crisis when credit and orders for those kinds of businesses sharply contracted. So he likely went through some tough times as well along with my human, now magician mc.
Honestly, it doesn’t seem to be much of a problem. At least we’ll get job opportunities, don’t be so cynical 
Besides, I don’t think there’ll be stalkers or crazy fans incorporated into the story and the whole keeper thing is still new so I don’t think Keeper!MC will have a large fanbase but maybe a few fan clubs.
