Apparently this is just the first half of the second chapter so I think that the author is going to add more text later on.
Except: a) the mc doesn’t seem to know any spells, certainly not ones that can be used for mischief like that.
b) Just giving Leon Cat ears doesn’t address his noise complaints, unless we also make him temporarily deaf with the same or another spell but that would be the kind of abuse my mc isn’t comfortable with as it isn’t funny anymore. On the other hand, giving Leon true cat ears temporarily will ensure he gets even more grumpy as it would temporarily improve his hearing.
Point being if Leon’s potions work is as lousy as his cooking and baking work…
I mean Alty is even worse, but Leon’s got nothing to brag about in that department as far as I can see.
In any case, should the cast ever do an all guys road-trip Cyrus and my mc should probably handle the cooking as the others seem to either suck at it or are outright dangerous when cooking (poor cute Alty and Leon too it seems).

You know what would be an absolute train wreck? Gordon Ramsay reviewing Leon’s cooking.
Probably comes from growing up in a household with actual servants, same probably goes for Alty, though Cyrus somehow managed to learn. 
I have no problems with that, although they’d be the ones stuck with Briseis as she counts as part of the female cast. 
My mc really should conspire with Cy to “sponsor” Astrid and Leon respectively for Worst Cooks in America. or its magi equivalent.
When do we learn any spells then? It’s not like we picked it up during our childhood, elementary or high school and at the university we’ve so far only learned sigils and runes, not spells at least not the ones that are easy to cast by just whispering some words. Having to devise a complex ritual to temporarily give Leon cat-ears, particularly if it requires coordinated movement of both parties, like in our ritual magic final just isn’t any good for mischief of this kind. Point is we don’t know the useful spells Astrid and Thalia do. If my mc wanted to give Leon temporary cat ears he’d probably need to beg either Astrid or Thalia for help as he doesn’t know how and none of the other suitemates seem the type to help.

Which one, the one on holiday with Astrid and Alty or the one where he was trying to earn a couple of dollars as a camp counselor?
While we can certainly choose to practice some magic during that latter break all of it is continuing subjects we’ve already practiced, so no easy spells that can be used for cat-ear mischief.
Remember the cat’s footsteps, a bottle of blue moonlight and fate string thing from the last game? We were promised a vampire gang but maybe we could pull a prank or two with it 
And I doubt it’ll actually get incorporated into the canon story anyway, but still, it’s a funny headcanon
I guess we’re going to have to do it the human way, buy a pair of cat ears and glue them to his head when he’s asleep.
That alone would be a huge letdown when we’re supposed to be magical celebrities. 
On a more serious note I hope my mc can finally learn Astrid’s clothes resizing spell sometime during the sequel.
I dunno, maybe Thalia will canonically pull that prank on Leon and we’ll get to witness it.
Why? I see absolutely no down-sides to this except getting hexed by Leon

Just a recognition that smart people don’t all know the same particular sets of information. Alty has more magic tech knowledge than any of the other ROs. MC could rival that if they spent time studying magic tech, but just being naturally smart won’t grant them a specialized set of information like that, if that makes sense.

Who gets the MC the pet?
We know who to call as the sexy tv repair guy if the fancy magi holotech tv breaks down then. 
You still need to be pretty darned smart to acquire such a set of information in the first place, while he may not outsmart them combined that does point towards Alty being (nearly) as smart as Sera even though he puts less emphasis on it.
Thanks, when you get to the chapter with more of the politics remember my mc and a lot of others, particularly Nephilim mc’s might be mad enough at both major parties, or at least their front guys to consider not only voting for but openly endorsing an independent or minor party.
While, if the system is enough like normal America, I don’t expect the mc’s endorsement to make them win the district (as we’re not Brant) it might get them above the vote threshold for federal funding and inclusion in the debates and in the best cases make them a real thorn in the side contender.

Yeah, but if we get hexed by Leon chances are our mc doesn’t know enough (about) magic to be able to reverse it.
Besides getting Leon a nice present of sound dampening ear muffs with chin strap and cat ears shows my mc cares.
Why would you want to? Most are not that great and depending on how famous keepers are supposed to be it might make some jobs impossible due to danger to animals or patients from all sorts of stalkers (hospital and creature caretaker) and change others beyond all recognition. I mean I don’t think NMC news will let my second mc continue to be a coffee-fetching intern behind the scenes and a self-employed sleuth/investigative journalist with a major press pass outside of work. Monroe similarly is likely to seek to use us politically, instead of just overpaying us for light secretarial work and frequent trips to the otherwise unused breakroom.
I already reflected all those concerns before.

I think they’ll be added in a future chapter. I don’t know which chapter, though. And I don’t think any of the other characters will give the MC a pet, I think the MC will get it themself (unless the author says otherwise)
