Jolly Good: Tea and Scones

oh :astonished:… YESSS !!! That sounds GREAT!

And what about meeting the ROs and cast for the first time and the confession scene in the end. It sounds really fun either way. But, don’t let me dictate what you should draw. You should let your creativity boil in your mind and do what you want to do

If Shah is the newest Noble Gas, does this mean that the candidate we meet at the very end of Cakes and Ale doesn’t get in?

How big of a role will Shah play in Tea and Scones? How much will we see of her?

Tea and Scones takes place several months after Cakes and Ale, so Shah is the Newest Member at this time.

I have only written chapter one of eight, and everything is open to change, but so far, I would say Shah has a role equivalent to the other named Noble Gases like String-bean Sally or the Noblest Gas. Some moments to shine on her own, and a colorful part of the chorus. In this chapter that I’ve written, I’ve filled in some personalities and given some Noble Gases some moments in the spotlight who haven’t really had it so much before, like Duddles, Toppers, Clever Clive, Pellam, Duke Weakling-Arms, and of course Shah.

Chapter One takes place at a club meeting, and therefore I’m sure you can imagine what role the Newest Member plays at a club meeting, according to Noble Gas tradition.

Shah will continue on to Game Three of course, where I have a spotlight scene in mind for her as well.

Can we get an animal companion ?

I can promise you that in Tea and Scones, you will have the opportunity to get very close indeed with an animal. The animal in question will have fangs.

Why do I get the feeling this refers exclusively to physical proximity, and not an emotional bond of any kind?

Is it a bat ? :scream:

edit: The fact Gower liked this worries me…

Has the author posted the demo link for jolly good : tea and scones?

@UnknownUser This thread is more like a development thread where many Jolly Good fans can tune into the book’s development. The demo would usually be ready when the book is done and would usually be open to beta readers for feedback.

I should really be checking the progress update in the first post more often!

Sponsor rivals? Cosy tea? Camping? Salt? These sure are enigmatic vignettes. This is Marmaduke-focused chapter, so I’m guessing he’s driving us to Merryweather Manor and we had to break for camp at some point.

I have a question about Marmaduke. How are all the ladies not falling for him left and right? He’s going to be a freaking Earl one day and he’s mostly an adorable sort. I hope we get to set him up with someone who truly likes him (not just for his title) and not just Tabby, who is half in love with MC. >:-(

It’s a fair question. You will meet Lady Blanche Hyssop in Tea and Scones, who, I think, will be another contender for Marmaduke’s heart, so stay tuned vis-a-vis Marmaduke.

In other news, I am hard at work doing revisions to Chapter One; I’ll be back to writing Chapter Two next week. My totally made-up guess for when I’ll finish Chapter Two is late May–we’ll see!

I’m starting to become concerned, but curiously, by the end of teas and scones, and possibly the future 3rd book, how many RO’s could one come across, I fear having to spend weeks going through exploring all of them if there end up being so many, not that it is bad! It is simply daunting!

If you have not built a romance in book 1 with a book 1 RO, could you do so in Book 2? The long-term romantic development sounds fun as always.

I wonder if I must fulfill certain romance conditions in book 1 to explore certain paths, perhaps even heartbreak or particular tragedy? Would my present RO drift away from me in a chance meeting with someone else?

Right now, my thought is that there will be five ROs all told. I’m still hashing out some of the fine details, and some possibilities for poly options as well.

Yes. The “lock-in” for romances will happen towards the end of Book 2. You won’t be locked out of big paths, romance-wise, if you didn’t establish a romantic relationship with someone in Book 1, but there are some super cute scenes in the first chapter of Book 2 that you would miss.

That I will leave unanswered for the moment.

You’re telling me!

Five ROs is the “standard” number for good reasons! Plenty of variety, but not getting out of hand. Of course, if the fifth is not Starling, I’ll throw myself off a window before Fitzie has the chance :hear_no_evil::hear_no_evil: (Kidding, I’d just headcanon away)

That name sounds positively Dormouse-y. Hope this meant that our beloved cousin has become a member of the club!

I wonder what happened if we sabotaged the application letter

I would genuinely be shocked if Starling wasn’t an RO. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.
