I’m in the bus right now, and I’m really thankful it’s a little empty because I actually punched the air a bit. You noticed the details!!
Here’s a little one to add to that: I deliberately drew the Fitzies and Starlings to be visual opposites. Fitzie is all rough and messy, with questionable posture, yet facing the viewer, while the Starlings are neat, sharp, clean, carrying items to show their hardwork, and with perfect posture… yet facing away from you. The Fitzies also wear gloves, while the Starlings do not.
(The two Fitzies are also a little different–the female Fitzie is supposed to represent a Fitzie with the Upperhand, while the Male is the opposite, hence his better posture.)
There’s a lot of little things like that!! Huhu. I’ve tried to make sure everyone has their own distinct colour palettes. Even if the colours are close, they’re not precisely the same shade. For example, Rory, Clever Clive, String Bean Sally, and Gloves. They all wear green, but the greens they wear are slightly different.
Servants/Cadbury Club members are all dressed exclusively in black and white, with the exception of Fitzie, who’s an oddity of course; and Valentine, who has accents of red to show they’re not really who they say they are; and Millicent, who’s not a servant. She still wears the same black though.
Family members, like Aunt Matilda, Marmaduke, and Uncle Chum, have a shade of similar red somewhere on them–and Parsnip is basically an echo of Aunt Matilda to show that she’s under her and all that.
Aunt Matilda is also drawn as a foil to Aunt Primrose–big hat vs small hat, hand up vs hand down, frown vs smile, short vs tall… etc etc.
Okay I’m rambling now!! But YES I just wanted to share some of my thought processes while drawing them!
@Jackpot1776 Thank you!! Aaahhh!
