The Noblest Gas did say that he’s five times older than the MC if they failed to dodge Thunder Bailey’s one-two-three punch at the arena. Knowing him though, it’s probably a form of boasting.
The Noblest Gas is such an odd character. Given that the word of God above me says that he’s generally pictured in his 90s, that’s what I’m going to go with, but at the same time… I’ve met people in their 90s. Some of them are/were in great shape. Not a singe one really seems like the Noblest Gas could be their age.
My character’s name in Tally Ho was Anna Wigglesworth so when I played the “Money” scandal and met Periwinkle Wigglesworth I kept waiting for their stories to converge… and they never did! What a funny coincidence.
Does anyone know how to catch the opera thief and how to defeat the rowdy roustabouts? especially if the MC’s main stats are soothing and intelligent?
you need high bold to catch the thief, i think i did it with over 50 bold, jump down and caught him, rowdy ? Again High Bold, beat them easily in boxing by picking all mean and offensive tactic
I think with your playstyle maybe playing Cupid with Thunder and the lady could help? They’ll be distracted from the tournaments and you can manage to do it with your stats. You could also try sabotaging them? I don’t remember all the options, but I know there’s more than one way to do it, so probably you can sabotage them using your stats (soothing, intellenge, etc. You probably have persuade, too? ).
Also, I don’t know if this actually helps with the score, but try to make the crowd cheer for you?
For catching the thief, you don’t need to jump and use bold. You can work as a team with Gil, if I remember correctly, that should help. You can also have Fitzie help you. I don’t remember all the ways to catch him, but you could also throw something at him. Or use the cheats, have all your stats maxed and do whatever you want lol!
wait… so i can’t catch them using intellect?!
@Kirlett, Aww… Thank you! Hmm… that would be good My MC is soothing and smart but her persuasion is around 30 something so…
She does, however, has 55 relationship with Juniper and 45 culture so maybe distracting them can help?! Honestly, I’m feeling as stressed as Tabby in the press office
If I’m not mistaken, throwing Chervil’s stick as a javelin requires solid Bold and Observe, and jumping from the luxury box is Bold and Intellect, and commanding the crowd is Persuade and something else. So things might not be looking that solid for your MC. But, if it’d fit your MC’s personality, you can send Fitzie to the opera, and, if your MC keeps Fitzie under control, they’ll be able to spring a trap and capture the thief. So there’s that.
I think the most solid way of defeating the Rowdies is doing well in the arena rounds. I think your MC with solid Culture might be able to do well in the dining section, and the fourth round, where the crew fights with words (I think it’s round 4, I’m not so sure). Hope it helps!
Finally found the time to play this and… I loved it
After playing a Top of his class butler (or maid) in Tally Ho. Now we embody the other side of the Master/Servant relationship. The new protagonist is a down on his luck Gentleman (or Gentlelady) who got pretty much a Infamy for being something of a indebted rascal (this infamy could be either total deserved or otherwise a total misconception )
In desperate need of finding a new Butler, after the last one prematurely left your service, you contact the Butler/Maids agency to “hire” a new helping hand (With the last of your money or by sending the bill to your dear Uncle) the only option you get is “Fitzie”…the worst possible housekeeper of them all. Highly unprofessional and quirky to a booth (I liked how it explicitly say is the antithesis of the perfect butler/maid of the first game).
starting with great expectations you quickly realize you’re pretty much the one who get to be ordered around and that Fitzie pretty much think with her/his own head. In fact her (I picked a maid) is the plan to regain some sort of respectability in the eyes of the other gentlemens by joining this eccentric club: The Noble Gases.
and from here the story “adventures” are told by the point of view of the Protagonist to the other clubmates (and one time by the oldest NobleGas “the one with the auditory horn”).
who acquire a central figure of expert storyteller inside the club. (You could either actively try to be involved in the club circle and join this merry band or just act as a lazy member).
I found The events the protagonist get involved in are a great deal of fun to read and loved to meet one Character from the Tally Ho (Rory Wintermint the gentleman you serve in Tally Ho here come back as a fellow clubsmate and liked his interventions even if he’s present as a background character in the story while other characters from Tally Ho are marginally present: Like Haze or just heard about). This story could be considered the “main series” with Tally-ho becoming a “spin-off” of sort. I highly recommend both for the funny dialogues and extravagant situations.
The BEST moment for me was the making of Rule 81.
That was brilliant : XD expecially if you miss to pay the club debt
What was Rule 81? I don’t remember
Eh You must end chapter 4 without enough money to pay the interest debt of the club to the bank, then the protagonist cut back to the start of the story he was called to tell to Rory and this another clubsmate. The clubsmate ask what happened next ? as she was away in the time all this was happening and you and the others come to circle her and say they told the bank to delay the repossession as there was “still” a member who could save the club, telling the story in fact was the last attempt to corner her (the stingiest loaded money keeper of the club) to pay what was left of the debt. The protagonist speech is perfect XD “If She was here she would have sayed: I will Give, I will Give!” with the other even faking her signature and impersonating one of her parents to give reassurence to the bank. Poor girl had to agree but then had to lay down on the billiard table for not collapsing after hearing how much was left to pay.
From there was born the club Rule 81: “Always say thanks to her”
Just one of the funny moments There is also the one of the heavy table left on the fifth floor and you have to return it in perfect state to the owners but get the improbable helping hand of three clubmates to get it down the spiral staircase: A old lady that can move around only leaning on a crutch, A heavy eater known in the club for always having grease on his hands and a dimwit who don’t understand half the things you say. And you have to make it work.
does anyone know how to set Pispy and Thunder together?
Does anyone know what the roman numerals at the club translate to? I tried to puzzle it out but there were D’s at the front and end and an M in the middle and so I was confused.
I’m having a ton of fun with the game, I just wonder if it was a secret message or if I was just mixing up my numerals!
If you go to the arena, you get lots of opportunities to remind them of romance or encourage them to see the other as particularly appealing. The options are pretty obvious when they appear. Be sure to participate in the dinner and boxing rounds. Then, you’ll see that they slip away and you can follow them, get a camera and have the photo taken.
I actually manage to lead Noble gas to the number one victory , but i need to be there to take charge almost to the last event, boxing require Bold, where i menacingly intimidate everyone, fight that judge and in the dining, eat everything that increase scandal and whoa !! We won But because i am romancing Tabby, i mostly spend too much time with her. Do you know how to get the secret benefactor as sponsor ?
Uh.
DCIVMCD is not a valid Roman numeral, at least according to the two converters I tried.
But DC, IV, M, CD are all separate, proper numerals. So maybe it’s 600 + 4 + 1000 + 400 = 2004, which is very anachronistic to the setting.
Maybe the history of Noble Gases is all faked? Is Pilcrow really a historian?
Or maybe this is a throwaway joke? A reference?
Oh phew. So the clubhouse isn’t a building that ages backwards after all.
Thanks! Very interesting!
It is indeed a joke. But I do not trade in throwaway jokes. This was a meticulously hand-crafted joke.
Just finished my first playthrough - club life with the Noble Gases is so much fun! A big thank you to the author for a marvelous adventure with wonderfully-written characters. I can’t wait to replay it.
I had a question about Vyv in Chapter 8 Epilogue.
On their way back to the Noble Gases, Vyv wishes to present something to the MC but Fitzie interrupts the moment. Is it possible to save the moment and see what Vyv wants to give to the MC?
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It means so much to me that you had fun. Your fun is the thing that gets me to sit down and write, so thank you. I hope your next playthroughs are as much fun as this one!
As for your question, the answer is yes–you can indeed receive what Vyv was going to give you
