Jolly Good: Cakes and Ale Free-for-All Discussion Thread Where Spoilers May Appear

You know, that’s a really good point. I’ll add that to my list of things to tweak.

I was planning to do that! I had in mind to put the character roles in the chapter summaries and I’m figuring out how to make the branching look more organized right now so it isn’t too overwhelming! Feel free to add things if you want, though! I think pretty much anyone can edit the wiki

Thanks for the offer but, personally I don’t think I’m good enough to write a wiki essay which is fun and engaging yet

I actually tried my hand at it for Tabby’s page. Let me know if it’s too verbose for a summary. It doesn’t look like much from the editor, but it’s quite the Effect just by looking at the page. I also added like, all the images too. It’s kinda ridiculous.

I think it’s great! I guess fandom does make things look a bit overwhelming sometimes. I can always try to change that by adding some css. And thank you so much for posting the images! I had some ready but I didn’t get to them yet because I’m trying to figure out how to toggle between pictures in the infoboxes (so that we can add the multiple pictures of Rory, for example) and how to add spoiler tags for the aliases. I guess I’m a bit preoccupied with css/js at the moment, but I think it’s amazing how much info has been added in the last couple of days!

I don’t know if this is a warranted comment but why don’t we change the Jolly Good person as the Jolly Goof in the wiki from now on  ( I don’t know why but the idea suddenly struck to me as I accidentally wrote a typo). Also, I think we should blur some things in the wiki since some of the cast involvement can be considered spoilers

Jolly Goof made me giggle! I love it! That’s certainly how I played my character. But it might not fit all playstyles–some people might be playing a character who’s decidedly… un-goofy.

Is it possible to blur things out in a wiki? Because if so, it’s a very good idea. Or maybe hiding it under a spoiler tab?

It is possible you can search it up on the fandom forums and there’s already solutions to it. But, I have a hard time coding it so…

Thank you so much

And yeah, that is a fair point

You can add spoilers by adding a bit of code, yes! I just tried to make a sort of tutorial here, but if you don’t feel comfortable adding it yourself you can always send me a message so I can add a spoiler tag to something!

Thanks for the tutorial! Looks simple enough to add itself.

Edit: Oh hey, it works in infoboxes too! :grinning:

Also, to all here: What should be considered a spoiler? Everything past the free chapters (so, from Chapter 3 onwards for both Tally Ho and C&A), any info that’s easily missable in playthroughs, or some combination of both?

I think past the free chapters

I assume it’s the same character, but the surname isn’t the same?

I spotted this in the code for Chapter 5:

How can you catch a cold?

In chapter 5. Get yourself over to All-Nite Clothier and Haberdasher, buy your outfit (cheapest ones are priced at 40 readies), and then, when offered a drink from the owner, as long as your Observe is less than 35, you’ll catch cold.

I just wanted to say, whoever’s been updating the wiki–you all deserve a medal. I’m constantly learning new things about the game and characters! Thank you guys for all the hard work! :green_heart:

Definitely outstanding!

So many things in this game make me laugh but the chimney phobia is next-level hilarious. I’m a long-time lurker here but just had to chime in on that one.

A heist?! How where how :OO What do you need to get that scene?

Agreed — in my last playthrough I totally forgot I had given my character that one, so it was hilarious to see it come into play again when the MC tries to tell Marmaduke he used to smoke like a chimney. :joy: Wasn’t expecting that at all. Well played, sir, well played.

Those were just examples of what MC could do, but there’s plenty of opportunity for sneaky robbery: if you have the theft scandal, you later on can have a mission where someone asks you to rob an object in style; if you accept Fitzie’s requests you’ll have two other “heist” missions, one when returning the table and the other if they tell you about the pearl.
