Unfortunately for you, I wholeheartedly agree with you But, do keep in mind beside their departure and MC’s opinion regarding their relationship the entire detail of their relationship is SUPER vague. And, since this game is third person limited most of the time MC CAN be an unreliable narrator who just perceive their relationship as bad…
But to be honest, I’m honestly sacred for both of us. I mean, we’re shipping a blank state and a barely appearing character for Jove’s sake For all we know, Starling can be a huge jerk and break the MC’s heart once we meet them again ! I hope the author and the unfortunate forum users feel entertained with our misfortune of loving a barely shown character.
Oh that’s intresting… but
choosing between Fritzie and Starling now THAT’S drama. I certainly can’t choose between both of them . But, seriously this can make some GREAT drama as a love triangle. I also can’t help but I notice Starling has a huge overlay with Frankincense in the Tally Ho MC’s backstory. Like a previously employed servant come back to your life employed by someone you know who might or might not have a torrid passionate affair with you…
All in all it’s going to be REALLY AKWARD for Tabby, Fritzie, MC and Starling if they all meet in the same place…
That’s true I suppose I mean it IS easier to feel love if a person shows their affections clearly than doing it in the shadows stares at my Tally Ho MC who loved Rory from the shadows because they put Rory’s happiness before theirs first
And, totally a fair point ! I guess deep within any human mind is the attraction to a sexy devious character. No matter how troubling they can be (still love Fitzie though)
That can be a point against my arguement. You can’t expect people to do chores well if the person in question has never done it their entire lives. But, if you choose to complain about starling to Fitzie in chapter 2 they would absolutely tell you infront of your face how attached they are to Starling no matter how much of a judgemental unloyal bore they are. And, THAT’S something !
Now that you mentioned it Ambrose has certainly improved in their investigation skill. But probably not by much. Another factor why he felt more competent this time around is probably because he tailored his investigation technique to his strength I guess. Since Guy Fox has a diffrent method to do his crimes compared to Light-fingered Lou. Heck, Ambrose probably changes his investigation style depending on the criminal he’s trying to catch. Hopefully we would finally see Ambrose in his peak. Completely competent and with an ivestigation style which suite his strengths PERFECTLY
I’ve read this about 5 times now gearing up for a 6th and I have so much to say I can’t even word any of it. I’m astounded by the creativity behind this, especially how wonderfully ridiculous it can get. And it feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface! I mean damn it’s impressive! Tally Ho was one of my favorite games and always will be but this is really a triumph.
Also that one scene in the opera with Gilberto where you end up rising onto the stage made me laugh so hard I put the game down for a hour to calm down
Kinda strange though because he is quite close with MC like Vyv and Gilberto there is even option to meet him early before joined Gase club.
I agree with you, there is something deeper than Buck.
He sent a letter warning about sabotage at the opera, I questioned him about it at the arena but he denied that his gesture indicated otherwise though.
I don’t think he is bad person, but who know.
Btw How everyone think of Marmaduke?
I found him adorkable cute, he is Rich version of Figaro with one sided love issue. In my play, I am played as caring big sister to her helpless poor younger brother too bad there is no RO for him, in my interaction with Marmaduke i often included “my dear”. I feel awkward to used that line when playing as male but as female that brought a strange fun.
So far i am trying find a way how to get his a progression with Taby, anyone can help?
Big fat SAME. I was having so much fun playing this posh all about manners character who just wanted to enjoy the simple pleasures in life but was kinda so head in the clouds that they kept getting into these situations, Starling was sorely missed. Have a feeling that Starling would’ve kept them grounded, as opposed to Fitzie who is more of a free spirit. Still would’ve gotten into messes, of course, but with someone with more of a “don’t do that, dumbass” energy than “I’ll do that with you” energy. Which is what my MC, the way I play them, would’ve needed.
Thanks so much to everyone who has given me feedback, kind words, and support, or offered elaborate theories about vampires and Starling’s various qualities here over the past few days! And thank you so much to everyone who has left reviews on the various platforms. It helps so much, and it’s a good morale boost as I work slowly but surely on Tea and Scones.
In answer to some questions (I probably missed some above), yes, there are plot threads that will be continued in the next games that don’t get investigated fully in game one, notably the Marmaduke/Tabby romance or non-romance, and the issue of Public Enemy Number One, and the matter of Guy Fox. And also, yes, your family is at the core of game two (even though all of the central characters will play main roles as well).
You sound very excited about it . Well, if author dearest can make a rory-Frankincense-MC love triangle happy I’m sure nothing is too much for him to put it a Starling-Fitzie-MC love triangle (poor Tabby though )
Whichever sponsor you choose will lead to a bunch of unique content in the next game, for sure. I haven’t quite decided yet where that unique content will take place, but it will be there. A playthrough with Haze as your sponsor should give you different adventures than a playthrough with Harlow or Murray & Jasper!
Can someone tell me who the romance options are and how ro do so please and thank you. I love this game the author did a great job even more so thsn the first one
Tabby, Gilberto, Vyv, and Fitzie. I can’t say the exact way to romance all of them, as I haven’t played the game enough, but Tabby and Fitzie seemed to both be pretty easy to romance, as long as you were good to them and hinted that you wanted romance.
I found Vyv the easiest and Gil the hardest actually. Just have a high culture, high int mc and Vyv will be like butter in your mc’s hands. also the scene where the mc can pose nude for Vyv is my fave romance scene in book 1. .
Fitzie’s path is most enjoyable, imho, with a high skullduggery and high int mc, as the easiest way to Fitz’s lips that I have found is to impress him with your own feats of skullduggery and being able to outsmart him on occasion. my fave Fitzie scene in book 1 is not a romance scene but taking the high int solution to moving the table in chapter 3. Fitzie’s near stunned realisation that the mc really is smart and more than just an elite pretty boy in my case, was priceless.
Oh, by the way @Gower I finally managed to beat Jack Sharp’s card game and I was wondering will there be anything for that mc to do with the 10000+ in ready money he has now got after betting high on the Arena too?
Howabout aunt Matilda’s coffee house? If MC did the survey and convince my aunt to invest it, MC should be given the manager post to operate it .Lol and perhaps also be given choices of the type of cakes, tea and coffee to be serve there😁
Oh dear, i forgot that i needn’t work all these time …
But even as head of our own club , i find that managing both outlet will be fascinating , well… i suppose my MC is going to reform into someone who prefer to take care everything himself and increase his influence … , and fortune of course
You mean “work”, for a salary? What nonsense is that! I mean my poor mc seemed to recoil at the mere thought of it in the Peri scene. Anyway he already has a social club to manage now that is a heavy enough burden.
Now smartly investing that money so that the money itself works to produce more money, that he could get behind. Or just well…lie cheat and steal most of my mc’s seem to be quite good at that.
You can only do it on the financial scandal mc path…as far as I know. Anyway on that path If you keep Peri’s mood fairly high and help her win 16000 from Jack in the rigged card game (I did that by creasing the card and riling up the crowd) she will give the mc a lot of money 4000 readies in my case, but it can go as high as 6000. Then have your mc go to the arena first, make an excuse to your aunt and place a bet of 3000 readies on the Noble Gases. Then compete yourself to make sure your club actually wins and…voila the mc is now in possession of more than 10000 in ready monies.
Well you don’t actually need to work for that, just find and employ a couple of good investment bankers and let them invest. I mean if Trump had done that with his inherited fortune conservative, yes, conservative estimates are that he could have been worth somewhere around 30 billion, instead of half a billion in debt.
Simping for Juniper tbh. Something about the Dormouses looking intrigued/jealous when the MC talked to her. Her dialogue about ‘soulmates’ when the MC tries to flirt with her in the arena was also mysterious, vague, and maybe even borderline creepy. I’m in.
I must say our dear Fritzie here is quite a celebrity.
Not that I complain…
After all, It was an interesting duo if i say so myself…
Just imagine a servant with a very particular history of mischief and a noble with let us say not quite a noble now because of a particular incident.
It was an interesting adventure to say the least…
Alas, I do not know if my blatant flirting and niceness is founded after all club members certainly stated it was a “frustating romance”
In any case i dont want to dwell too much upon it because it was all good fun nonetheless.
P.S. It would be appreciated if someone compiled an RO guide.
