Is there a way to make the steam game ui look the same as the cog/hosted tablet apps?

I love that when using the omnibus app to play the games, the stats appear on a sidebar at the left of my ipad screen. It’s not the same on my phone (i still need to click through to see stats in the menus there) so I assume it’s a tablet only design choice.
After experiencing that really helpful feature i was kind of confused and disappointed that the web UI and steam app versions dont have the same thing, They’re for use on computers, which are widescreen like a tablet so I was expecting the UI to be the same.
But it isnt, you have click through the menu, sometimes multiple times.
I was only using my ipad in the first place to check my import had worked, and because I was going on a 5 hour car journey (easier to use an ipad in the car than a laptop), but ive always been planning to play on the steam game versions so I can unlock the steam achievements.
Is there a way to toggle the stat sidebar on pc? And if not, could that be something that’s potentially added? Or just making the UI the same as the ipad version.
Thanks for reading

I’ve been wondering this too because I love how clean and simple the COG/Hosted tablet apps look. Steam’s UI is great, but it doesn’t have that same sleek, minimalist vibe. From what I’ve tried, there’s no direct way to make Steam look exactly like those apps, but here’s what I’ve done to get close:

Big Picture Mode
Custom Skins
Playnite

Hopefully it’s something that can be added in the future, being able to see the stats change is so useful for gameplay.

Also, I’m glad theres something you can do! I’m just playing my first game though, so could you elaborate on what those options are? I had no idea custom skins were an option and I dont know what you mean by big picture mode.
Thanks!

I always play on my android phone or on pc through steam. Now I’m curious how it looks like on an ipad. Can anyone post screen grabs?

Seconding the wish for more platforms to have the option of having the stats screen open in a sidebar. It’s super nice being able to see your stats change right as you make choices and reference glossary/codex/supplementary info as you play.

Hard to play on other platforms after.

AFAIK (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), this is an iPad OS only feature; Android tablets don’t get the sidebar.

Phones I understand, but between web, Steam (including Steam Deck), and non-Apple tablets, I wish at least one more platform had the persistent stats screen feature.

I had no idea this could be an iPad only feature since I do in fact read on my iPad, not an android tablet, which I guess means it must be a difference in the ios/android versions? Weird.
Also I have a steamdeck (currently lent to a friend so I havent had a chance to play any CoG/hosted games on it, im a newbie) and it didn’t occur to me that of course it would use the steam version not the tablet (ios?) version. Thats a bummer because the screen dimensions are so wide (16:10 vs my 4:3 ipad) you could probably fit in two bars of stats haha.
