Thanks.
Indeed, I am too lazy to do something like searching through the thread. Good thing friendly folk like you exist who’ll do the searching for me.
Thanks.

What do you mean when you say “Advances score of more than 3”? Is there a specific stat that I’m missing? I’m trying to get back to the future. So I took every opportunity to improve the medicine of the past and even wrote an autobiography.
It’s a background stat that you will never see. Basically, it measures how much future knowledge you disseminate (writing an autobiography, talking to the brightest minds of the era, creating a hospital, etc.).
For getting back to the future, you need to work with the Golden Horde and help them succeed in conquering the Middle East. When you are asked what reward you want for assisting them (while on the ‘Road to Jerusalem’ chapter), tell them you want to return to the 21st century. You will then be placed in a Skystone powered LPU at the end of the game, and will wake up in the future.
Is there a way to win the final battle as a Christian under the Papacy after peace is not achieved?
Hi! Yes, you certainly can. As I remember it, the factors that will give you the best chance (in rough order) are:
Having a strong and well-equipped archon.
Having a high pilot skill.
Having a high renown score.
Having as many troops as possible in your retinue.
Slight bonus during certain choices from having the second aide (if you’ve found him) and any of the upgrades from Ismail al-Jazari.
You can still lose even with all these but you’ll have more room to take risks (including things like saving allies and challenging important enemies). The lower these factors are, the more cautious you’ll need to be.
In fact, if you want to be certain of a win, I’d say caution is the key…
Hope that helps!
@Wiwyums Thank you very much!
@Wiwyums 1 last question can we marry the Princess if we win? I was in a relationship with her but she was sent off to someone else. Also is the prince title locked only for MCs who get a peaceful union between the 2 religious groups and a repelled Mongolian Invasion
You can marry Isabella in any “succesful” ending (peace or victory) but only if your standing with the Papacy is higher than 70 at the game’s end. You’ll need to have done everything you can to curry favour with Baldwin and make a name for yourself within the faction. Easiest way is to spend as much time at court as possible.
To get the title of prince/princess, you’ll need to have either defeated the Caliphate in battle or allied with the Caliphate and defeted the Mongols. Once again, you’ll also need a standing with the Papacy of over 70. If you have high standing but achieve peace instead of victory, the highest title you can get is count/countess.
@Wiwyums Thanks again!
Hi, guys. Can anyone tell me how to unlock the puppeteer achievment? Is there any secret involving King Baldwin?
Hi! Yes, there’s a big secret… To uncover it, you need to finish the game with a really high ranking with the Papacy (win favour through quests and diplomacy, spend as much time schmoozing with their nobility as you can etc) and also win a decisive victory for them at the end of the game, either against the Papacy or the Mongols. After that, the queen and Balian should come to you with a proposal. Accept it to gain the achievement. Hope that helps!
EDIT: Just realised that I think you can also get it if you finish the game with a high Papacy rank and a peaceful ending. Don’t have my files to hand at the moment though so not 100% sure on that.
I’m currently playing through this game and just rushed over here to check if there was any way to save Guillaume. God, I’m so sad. I loved that old man. I actually cried out “NO!” when he died.
Anyways, absolutely great game, I’m loving it heaps so far! But god, it hurts… :’(
Thanks! I’m thrilled you’re enjoying it!
As for your question, I’m very sorry to say that there isn’t… He was a favourite of mine too and it really pained me to kill him off but it would have been difficult to keep him alive and move the story on without an unmanageable amount of branching. You can, however, fulfill his last wish by saving his son.
Guillaume and his kind soul will live on forever in our hearts. :’)
I just finished the game and wow it’s so good!!! Very much looking forward to whatever future work you do. Guh, I’m gonna miss Tonzo, Viv, and Nadia, I’m so attached to them. :’( Btw, I just wanted to say I really appreciate how connected the cultures and histories were (like real life)! That timeline you posted above is so fascinating, it’s really cool!
Thanks again - I truly appreciate that!
(New game is already underway here: Bitten! )
Could you please just tell me the secret behind King Baldwin? I couldn’t unlock it even being Christian, having high status and papacy, choosing getting close to the King instead of Isabella, agreeing to concher Jericho, winning against the mongols… I’ve played the game about 10 times (great story, by the way. Congrats) and this is the only achievment i didn’t get and i’m just curious!
Please tell me.
If you are sure, then what happens is you get summoned by the queen and she and the advisor ask you to become the king inside the mech. The previous king was not even the real king. Basically they are making the King immortal.
Cool! How did you unlock it?
Unfortunately, it has been about 6 months since I played, but I don’t think you need high papacy standing. I think there are some key decisions, like what you say during your hearing before the king when challenged by “doofus”. I always chose things that led to trial by combat, without angering anyone, and make sure you play to whatever your strength is in that hearing. The key to the whole game is to play into your strengths or exploit others’ weaknesses. Also I don’t think you can have a relationship with anyone, so that could also be an issue. Again it has been about six months since I played so I could be way off here.
@Raquel_De_Oliveira @2xs I really couldn’t remember myself so I went back and checked in the files. It seems I was mistaken in what I said before, the ending is actually only available if you achieve peace between the Papacy and the Caliphate and then you also need to meet the following criteria for Balian and Melisende to approach you with the offer:
*if ((partner != “Isabella”) and (chivalry >= 65)) and (((rep_papacy >= 70) and (renown >= 50)) and (allegiance = “papacy”)) So don’t have Isabella as a partner and make sure the Papacy hold you in high regard as a true, honest and capable knight.
