I want to see how interact the background and LI that are royalty themself to be put under the order of another queen, i assume that the ice and cinder king/queen had their own kingdom (not sure if the fae cout in the same political system that a human kingfom) before they were defeated
You got it right. The Ice Queen/King and the Cinder King/Queen come from defeated human kingdoms. The Poison Prince/ss will come from another neighboring human kingdom (that is non-defeated). And the Fae King/Queen will rule a fae kingdom (that is separate from the human one).
I pictured that the Queen the protagonist is serving is called āThe Red Queenā. Iām contemplating making her the final boss, and maybe the backgrounds/characters with kingdoms can get them back somehow in the course of the story. Still plotting things out, so weāll see.
Thank you for your question though.
Hello, Iāve been playing with this idea for like a couple of days and decided to see if there is any interest in it! Tbh this is a very early concept and if i continue to work on it a lot is probably going to change but meh. Hereās what I have so far.
Name: The Silver Doctor
Setting: Western
Concept: you play as a doctor who after attempting to help a wounded individual was bitten by them leading to you contracting lycanthropy. 3 years later, you settled down in a small town where you opened a clinic where you serve both the human community and the supernatural world. For the past 3 years you have been searching for a way to cure your disease, and you finally feel like you are making progress. You finally feel like your life is under control. Until the rumor of a creature inhabiting the countryside and mauling people started to appear, and suddenly youāre the main suspect. Which draws the wrong attention, the attention of a hunter, which is focused on you. You now must find the identity of the real culprit before itās too late for you.
Can You Control your inner beast? Can you avoid being caught and prove your innocence? Can you find the culprit? Or will you lose control, and it will be all for nothing.
Characters:
The MC: A Kindly Doctor with a deadly secret.
The Hunter: The Exact opposite of what you thought. Instead of being large and all muscle they are average height with a slender build. Seems to be more smarts then brawl but even with their small stature, when you look into their eyes you feel like prey. The saying of a wolf in sheepās clothing applies here. They are def playing the long game.
The assistant: You meet them a little after being turned. They are a normal human and are the main reason you survived unscathed your first year as a werewolf. They convinced you to open the clinic.
The Werewolf: Pack. A pact from the past
Features:
-Choice of three romance options, with one which goes against every survival instinct in your body, one that is full of understanding and love (yay), or one that is a tad feral.
-Experiments!
-A mc that starts with a strong moral code that you have the choice of destroying. Will you keep to your oath?
Anyway, this is what I got so far, any feedback is greatly appreciated!
sea witch/ sea wizerd from the little mermaid or magic mirror from snow whiite for backraunds love the concept it reminds me of ever after high or once upon a time and this is just my opinion but frankenstin seems a bit out of place
This is a great concept.
Playing as a small-town doctor helping the community is already good. Adding a supernatural element on top of that is even better. And then thereās a detective story wrapped up in the whole thing? Iāll take three copies.
This being Choice of Games, you might think about how players would alter the story. People might not want to be nice right at the start, for example. It would be interesting to have a scummy quack doctor find a moral code after learning to care for the people around them.
The play between helpful doctor/wild animal is already fun, but it also makes me imagine somebody whoās able to blend the two together, for example using werewolf senses to identify bleeding wounds and disease symptoms for more effective treatment.
Whatās the time period for the western? Modern? 50s? Old west?
Thats a good point! tbh I tend to get tunnel vison when it comes to some parts of the story and bringing that up sort of opens more options for me so thank you for that lol. Also, it seems fun to write about heh. Thank you for the reply!
As for the time period, Iām thinking about it being the 1880s to 1890s so nearing the end of the wild west but not yet.
I edited the main post. Thanks for your thoughts! I agree that Frankenstein is a bit out of place, since its just supposed to be just fairytales. However, this also means that Labyrinth-themed one had to go too, since it was inspired by a film and not a fairytale.
I added 2 love interests (the sea witch and the magic mirror). I cant believe i forgot about them.
Thanks for your suggestions!
your very welcome i wasnt sure if i was it was going to far with my opinion since its your book and maybe you have a vision idk im glad i that i didnt overstep
Now I have a doubt if those that are inspired by the same fairy tale know each other or are they separate stories inspired by the same thing?
It was a response to that but I clicked wrong
i think the thing you thinking of is that one episode from house of mose or vilans lair
Iām almost ready to submit my book and seeing as it could take a while to get published Iām looking for the next thing to get into. Iāve got several projects in mind but I feel Iām going to need some help with one of them. Would anyone be up to Collab with me on it?
Iād want to two parallel paths, one that Iād write and the other that youād write. If we can get a third person on board that would be great to add a third path. Each path would follow the perspective of a different faction and Iād want someone whoās good at capturing a certain theme for each path. If that makes any sense
Iād want a good versus evil kind of philosophy that weāll set up in a way that either can be right or wrong. Life is about perspective, and ones choices can be either right or wrong depending on the circumstance, so thereās no clear right or wrong sometimes. What I feel you may not feel. And what you think I may not think. We all live in the same world, on the same planet, yet we all have a different perception of the world around us. We all have a different experience, even if somethings in it are similar. I want to capture this theme in the book and Iād like for someone whoās willing to help me out with this.
Iāve always loved the idea of playing with the moral compass via perspectives! I would like to help I think if thereās more info on like- base setting and stuff! (Modern, fantasy, future, etc)
I do have a project Iām working on now, and I also work full time so I may not be the fastest volunteer but if youāre alright with that Iād love to help!
Canāt wait for more IF where you can play as a villain
Hey there. If youāre interested in doing it then Iām all game. I have projects and I work too so I understand that this wonāt be a priority, but you can chip in whenever you can with your part.
I was thinking of modern setting where fantasy meets science fiction.
Iām currently out of town but I do like the idea so far! If you want, we can DM to discuss stuff further. Or I can give you my discord as well if thatās more comfortable
Sorry for the late reply. Which one are you more active on? On second thought maybe discord would be better
No worries! Iāll Dm you my info!
Hey folks! Iāve been working on this piece for a little while now and I wanted to get some guidance. Itās not the first IF Iāve published but itās my first time using the Choicescript engine. I know I want this piece to be on the shorter side of IF games and I want to play with a system of opposing skills as opposed to stats that grow, similar to the Paragon/Renegade system in Mass Effect but a bit broader and wanted to know what games have also played in that space.
I also wanted to know what a good length for a demo would be, Iāve got I think a decent amount already typed up as raw text but I still need to edit it and fit the proper coding.
The Game: Bad Gateway
In the furthest rungs of Known Space, far beyond the Free Starsā territory and beyond the reach the Zhivotnoye Consortium spins the last constructed Candle Station. A long history of changed hands and emptied coffers resulted in Candle Station-7ās eventual ribbon cutting ceremony at the hands of unaffiliated groups. Named and nameless benefactors, philanthropists, crafty social engineers, and previous members of charitable factions, all responsible for keeping the lights on in the last true neutral space station in Known Space. A space station run by the people, for the people.
With the galactic conflict between the Free Stars of Alsamaā and the Daybreak Cenobium growing bigger every day, it remains difficult to remain neutral but the Seven Candles stands steadfast and headstrong. Some consider the station to be a hotbed for criminal activity, but you would know if thatās true.
You run the stations Safety and Security Commission after all.
You play as Bad Gateway, the chief of Safety and Security for Candle Station-7, and youāre about to have a really bad day at work.
Navigate treacherous interpersonal relationships with your colleagues and subordinates, defend Candle Station-7 from wolves in sheepās clothing, and make it through the work day to spend the evening with your spouse whom you love less than your job.
Stuff you can do:
-Go down branching story paths
-Play as a little sicko
-Explore Candle Station-7ās overgrown corridors
-Talk with the Vent Rats
-Spy on people
-Etc.
Any feedback or advice would be appreciated!
Reminds me of that one game where you play as a landlord in a dystopia I forgot the name of.
