Interest Check Thread

This seems interesting

If you have something like a design document, could you please publish it if possible?

Also, I know a developer who is familiar with choice script, so if you don’t mind, I would like to introduce him to him.

May I ask what a design document is? I haven’t heard that term before. I do, however, have a document, in which I attempt to organize my thoughts and ideas concerning the project.

Here is a Wikipedia article

Yes, please publish the document in which you tried to organize that idea.

By the way, do I need an introduction to the developer?

So for my actor/actress IF, I was planning to have 3 scripts to choose from. But now, I’m thinking of making my game more simple, so there will only be one script. Which script is more appealing to you?

  1. You, a terminally ill artist, has been chosen to be angel-in-training. So says your angel guide. When you two fall in love with each other and sleep with each other, it calls your training into question and you must undergo heavenly trials to prove you are still worthy of being an angel.

  2. You, a storyboard artist for a commercial company, are forced to go to an annual company retreat aimed at improving teamwork and communication. When people start getting brutally murdered one by one until only you are left, you realize that you are sleeping with the killer. When he kills you, your life resets to the start of the company retreat. Can you figure out a way to save everyone?

  3. A reclusive, disfigured playwright falls for a beautiful theater actress. A person from the real world who read the story knows it ends tragically for him, so when their dropped in the book, they try to save him. Only he seems to distrust them the more they help him… (Inspired by Phantom of the Opera .)

    1. The Angel x Human romance
    1. The Time-Looping Thriller
    1. Phantom of the Opera-inspired script

Thank you. You learn something new every day, I suppose. :+1:t2:

I’m currently reorganizing the document into a design document to make it easier to navigate. I will post it once the document is in a sufficiently adequate state.
(Where should I post/publish the document once I’m ready?)

Well, I think it’s good to post in this thread as part of the interest check. It might be a good idea to paste the shared link to your google drive here.

By the way, how long does it take to reorganize it into a design document?

I’m not entirely sure yet, a conservative estimate is 1 to 2 weeks. An optimistic estimate is 3 to 5 days. I will update you, once I’ve got a clearer picture!

Now let’s address some comments I had missed.

My currently planned structure is the following:

STRUCTURE:
PRELUDE (CHAPTER 0)
ACT 1 (CHAPTER 1 - 12)
ACT 2 (CHAPTER 13 - 28)
ACT 3 (CHAPTER 29 -39)
POSTLUDE (CHAPTER 40)
EPILOGUE

I thought about some of the input others provided and have decided to extend the timeline to make it more realistic.
Thus, the story is envisioned to take place over approximately 10 years + an epilogue.
However, if the reader’s character dies or gets couped, fails to get reelected (in a democratic route) or a vote of no confidence passes, if the EU dissolves, if nuclear armageddon is triggered, or if the EU gets conquered it would trigger an earlier end.

Thank you so much, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying your WIP and am looking forward to future updates! I agree, I wish there were more political thrillers. I truly appreciate when the protagonist has a lot of agency, in general.

No worries, thank you!

thank you telling me

Hey everyone!

I’m working on a game called ā€œEchoes of Valor: Chronicles of a Knightā€ and I’m really curious to know if this is something you’d be into.

The Idea:
Imagine a game where you start as just another kid in a medieval village but dream of becoming a knight. As you make choices, your journey unfolds, leading you to the life of a knight - with all its challenges and glories. It’s all about how your decisions shape your path in a world filled with medieval politics, battles, and moral dilemmas.

What’s in the Game:

•	You get to shape your character’s story - your choices actually change what happens next.
•	The game’s packed with decisions that affect your character’s skills and how others see you.
•	There are lots of different endings based on what you choose to focus on as a knight.
•	The setting’s all medieval, so expect castles, sword fights, and maybe even a dragon or two.

I’d Love to Hear Your Thoughts:

•	What do you think about the idea? Would you play a game like this?
•	Any cool features or story elements you think I should add?
•	Just generally, is a knight-themed game something you’d be interested in?

I’m planning to put out a demo version soon and would really love to get your feedback. This is my passion project and I want to make it as awesome as possible with your help.

Thanks a bunch for reading! Can’t wait to hear what you think and to bring you into the world of ā€œEchoes of Valor.ā€

Welcome back, Blendi!

It sounds incredibly interesting. There are a lot of stories out there already of becoming a knight, so I’m excited to learn what unique spin you’ll bring to this.

Customizable gear and accesories, don’t forget money like gold, which can be used to purchase resources, I couldn’t play some interactives because they did not contain money to use in the game.
I love midievals , looking forward to it.

hello everyone, I need a little help with story…

a group of opposition force is fighting their way for freedom and justice, but their former lord support his own men who are a part of a corrupted force that gives hell and misery to his own people

and after the heated battles, the lord willing to recognize and grant this opposition an autonomy, but they refuse and leave their lord for a new place and a better lord to serve

that’s how I want for the plot direction,
but it’s kinda hard to find a believable reasons for the lord to repent his mistakes and for the opposition to leave everybody that were protected by them

I need help with a believable reasons to keep the plot solid, thank you

Looking at Camus archetype examples from Fire Emblem could be useful, inspiration-wise.

Some stuff off the top of my head: understand why the lord would repent, you need to nail down why he engages in such cruelty to begin with. People are rarely evil for evil’s sake, they act in evil ways out of a more reasonable flaw like greed, desire for stability or control, or ego. Are the actions of his men sanctioned by him or simply done in his name? Is he motivated by ideology or pragmaticism – does he take pleasure in quashing the rebellion (ā€œsquashing the verminā€ types of ideology) or does he view it as a means to an end? Is the misery inflicted on his people a form of terror campaign to snuff out potential rebels?

Depending on his character, there are a few ways you could make him ā€œrepent.ā€ He could cut his losses and try to accept the rebel’s demands in an attempt to salvage control of his holdings, he could be motivated by grief by having lost one of his sons in the fighting, and so on.

Same goes for the characterization of the rebel force. Your description makes them sound like they can be meaningfully separated from the civilian/peasant population and have the two groups interests clash, which is a great dynamic. A conflict spearheaded by the minor gentry (chevaliers/military officers) claiming they are acting on behalf of the peasantry (a propaganda tool to recruit infantrymen perhaps), but when presented with the opportunity, they cut a deal with another lord that benefits the officers and not the people. Alternatively, they make a controversial deal to accept the other lord’s offer because the first lord’s holdings are rendered worthless – the land has been salted and burned by the battles and now nothing can grow, and they need to move to new land to survive. Alternatively-alternatively, the deal for the rebels to swear fealty to the new lord was a necessity in order to gain valuable supplies during the fighting (another deal that screws over the peasantry as this drains the land off all their capable combatants, but maybe they have a short-sighted general IDK).

Just wanna be 100% sure people wanna read the stuff I’m writing(The game’s title is ā€œA Beautiful Dayā€ by the way):

You, a 17-year old high school student, have just been sent to live with your reclusive uncle in the quaint, small town of Nemura for a year while your mother is on a business trip. The catch? As it turns out, your uncle actually works for a secretive government agency that snuffs out the paranormal; and Nemura is chock full of it. Join forces with newfound friends to unravel the secrets lurking in Nemura and, who knows, maybe put an end to the great evil plaguing the town…

Features:

• Hone your Supernatural abilities, and uncover the true abilities of your summon.
• Cultivate and evolve relationships with a diverse cast—friends, family, rivals, and more.
• Play as male, female or non-binary.
• Explore the high school life—dive into school events, hang out with friends, and more.
• Solve mysteries alongside your friends and uncover the looming threat in Nemura.
• Lots of Refrences.

Notes:
( • This story offers a unique power system that focuses on the supernatural and has nothing to do
with Magic.

• Brightburn is set in an Alternate version of Earth. (What this means is that some thing will be similar, such as Country names and animals, but their locations might be different, or there could be some new animal species(Hint, Hint).)

• I added new, unique supernatural creatures to give it a sort of fresh feel, if you’d like to know more ask about it in the replies! (I also added some new fruit/flower speciates)

• This story is DEFINITETLY going to be mature, simply because of some of the mature themes, gore, language, etc. )

(BY THE WAY if it wasn’t already obvious, YES this story takes inspiration from Jojo’s Bizzare adventure, but just know that it is not a carbon copy by any means, I just wanted to make a murder mystery with a unique feel to it, and felt the best way was to take a little bit of inspiration from JJBA.)

I’d love to know if this is a story you guys would like to read, and let me know about any critiques, questions or concerns you have in the replies!
