My current state trying to piece together all the crumbs of information I got about Seven, the mystery phone calls and the rumours an making a semi coherent theory that holds up but that will probably be wrong in the end oh well, making up theories is half the fun.
Blake’s a stalker, they totally know who the mystery person is. Is it a kid? I doubt it, but a secret child would be such a telenovela-type plot twist and so I love it on principle. Also, can I say how hilarious it is that Blake is having their own little Blues Clues adventure on the side while MC is dealing with a whole host of real, tragic, interpersonal drama MC is crying, sobbing, life completely falling apart, and Blake’s ass is lurking around the corner like
There’s definitely something süss about that photographer that just so happens to show up out of nowhere to help the mc in a time of need
Blake is definitely having the most fun on that contest.
LMAO. I can imagine him pressing his ear against the curtain on our beds on the tour bus, listening for anything they can use against us. He probably had his ear pressed against the door when we were in the bathroom, too.
He’ll probably create a hit song if he writes about the tragedy he’s witnessing the MC go through.
Seven when their secret child argues with them
Ahah the parallels with Seven’s father, like history repeating itself.
Blake will be the true winner of that season even if they don’t win the contest. With their tell all book they will make millions.
Blake is suffering emotionally, shooting imaginary laser beams at G from their eyes, everyone agrees that their lyrics are straight booty, and they’re still somehow having the best time out of all the lead singers.
They probably think they’re being so devious and subtle. Meanwhile, MC and everyone within a 50 mile radius can hear their huge stompers coming from a mile away.
Continuing the cycle
Yeah, you’re right. I think Seven would hurt the MC any way they can, but they wouldn’t hurt Alina because they care about them.
Because the MC and their band is an easier target. Going after G directly could be a mistake, but targeting the MC–since they’re the beneficiary of the cheating–works for Blake and their band. They can play victim, paint the MC as a demon, and get what they want. It can’t be personal when they don’t even know the MC, though. The MC is just the one to benefit from the cheating, so Blake intends to destroy them.
You really think Seven would ever apologize to the MC? I just can’t see it, and the way they’re written, it seems like all of the onus will fall on the MC to bend the knee, so to speak, and accept enough abuse while trying to be nice, until Seven finally “gives in” and agrees to give it a go. It’s very one-sided thus far (the caring, I mean), and Seven is just too hateful to ever even want the MC in their life again without the MC paying for it dearly.
Seven still opens up to Avina. And Avina appears to be the most important person in Seven’s life, the one they’re closest to. So even if Seven is not closer to Avina than they were to the MC, they are at least as close.
That has nothing to do with how close Seven and the MC were, but rather how Lucy basically took the MC in as a surrogate kid. And you don’t know for a fact that Lucy isn’t just as close to Avina. Or whoever makes Seven giddy on the phone. We don’t know anything about Lucy anymore because it seems the MC never talked to them after the breakup, right up until the demo.
Huh. I never thought of that. Sounds like it would fit Seven’s mess for them to have a kid, and be close to the other parent.
That sounded like something the MC did to fuck over Seven, though. The way it was phrased, the MC screwed over Seven in some other way. Which I really can’t fathom.
This is me with every game I play that isn’t just a stat raiser, lol.
This makes sense. With that being said, Blake’s whole point is to uncover the truth about the cheating; therefore, if they do villainize the MC and their band and then it’s exposed that G is the one who conducted the cheating without the MC and their band knowing, they’ll be viewed as fools for their behavior prior to the truth being revealed. They won’t be able to completely hide their sketchy behavior towards the MC and their band considering the cameras and the mics; they may lose some of their fanbase if we’re thinking realistically.
Yes, how else are we going to repair our friendship with them or begin a romantic relationship with them? It wouldn’t make sense for just one person to apologize for their actions when Seven has obviously been disrespecting the MC in general or allowing their bandmates to do so based on their behavior. Seven is concerned enough to come up with a justification for our negligent parents in order to make the MC feel better; they’re just full of disappointment, hurt, and rage.
At this time, I believe that is debatable. The person on the phone appears to lift their spirits and help them feel better for a short period of time, far more than Avina. I agree with you about Avina (or the person on the phone if it’s not a platonic connection) being romantically involved with Seven if the MC isn’t.
Yeah, that was the point I was trying to convey, LMAO. They may be close, but it’s still not on the same level as it was with the MC. Which can be a consolation for some, more bs for others.
I acknowledged this, but until I see Amy state this as factual, thus far, this is not the case. When their own kid has formed a bond with another child and they witness the maltreatment, some individuals feel compelled to treat that child as their own. The MC’s bond with Seven is what led to us having Lucy as our pseudo-mother, thus if two individuals effectively share a mother, it may be represented as them feeling even closer to one another, but that perspective is debatable and relies on a variety of circumstances, so I understand if you don’t view it in the same manner that I do.
I love all the theory crafting; thank you all for sharing your thoughts!
To answer the Avina query posted way up above: I like them.
So far, they haven’t done anything to make me dislike them, and I think they’re good for Seven, definitely what they needed. My MC is over Seven and wants nothing to do with them (to the point of getting the tattoo removed) or their band, so she’s pretty indifferent about Avina.
I’m running with the headcanon that my MC voted in favor of demoting Seven for the general success of the band because she was worried that their sharing the spotlight would cause rivalry or friction and damage their relationship (sweet, sweet irony). Seven’s reaction hit all my MC’s rejection and abandonment buttons and helped her become the ice-cold, vainglorious bitch she will be in this competition.
She’s not actively antagonistic towards Seven, nor is reconciliatory in any capacity. And if Seven wants to start some shit in front of the cameras? These hands are rated E for everyone in the interest of those sweet ratings. Same goes for Blake. Whether the will of the rock gods or G’s caprice, MC will make the most of the competition and bulldoze over anyone that tries to fuck her over.
Legit can’t wait to get the option to play as a homewrecker. What other IFs offer the option for this kind of storyline? It’s novel enough that I’d want to try it.
Especially with my shy, goody two shoes MC Emerald somehow managing to find herself in that position. But, as they say, it’s always the quiet ones. In general, I’m curious to see in what ways BotB might corrupt her as a person, or bring out the worst in her, or maybe make her a stronger, more assertive person.
… A little bit curious about the idea of something with Seven, too. Discovering romantic feelings for her somewhere down the line, maybe…? But that’s more up in the air for me.
Here’s the thing nobody will ever believe the mc knew nothing and wasn’t actively in league with G.
Alternatively if G was stupid enough to leave hard, as in written, evidence that clearly pre-dates mc and band’s involvement in the competition (I don’t think they’re that dumb) and it does cast some doubts on the level of the mc’s involvement it will still be mc who will come out of this looking like a no-talent foolish chump, not Blake and not G. And some doubt is exactly what it says on the tin, which means that in that case mc will still the villain to about half the people who care while looking like an idiot chump who let themselves be taken for a ride to the other half.
I know. I can’t think of any other IF that lets you cheat and get away with it. I mean, not get away with it — there’ll definitely be consequences — but your MC can have a full blown physical affair and still get their happy ending. Absolutely wild, I was immediately sold.
It’s too late for me. I’m a Seven simp through and through. Seven Lawless, you have never done anything wrong ever.
According to the game and how certain fans online reacted to the cheating allegations, some people agree with Blake, while others view Blake as salty because he lost, so he fabricated the cheating allegations. It’s far from a case-closed issue. That being said, the MC won’t be the only one to bear the brunt of the blame for the cheating allegations; the entire band will, and the entire band is the target. The only difference is that we, as the MC, are the only ones who could have a civil conversation with Blake.
No matter how many people are infatuated with G, if there’s proof, which I’m assuming there is; otherwise, Blake embarking on a hunt for proof would be completely fruitless and a waste of time, effort, and energy, neither their followers nor the media will be able to deny their involvement. They may rationalize it and offer a lousy justification for their actions, but they wouldn’t be able to say it was the MC and their band’s fault, and even if they might, it wouldn’t matter because they probably weren’t our fans in the first place, therefore they weren’t beneficial to us regardless of the cheating allegations or not.
Typically, when a game mentions that a character is embarking on some kind of journey, it should pay off. Blake discovering evidence should point towards G’s involvement, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we had the option to corrupt the truth if we’re romancing G or doing the poly route with G/V.
This is the biggest reason I hope there are options coming in the rewrite that allow us to distance ourselves from G and V. I don’t want to get pulled into your marriage, people. In fact I don’t even want to be around you professionally, let alone casually. Particularly that photoshoot crap. Why the hell do I have to help your wife play mommy and pull you out of bed so you can meet an obligation you knew good and damned well was coming? I have to do MY job (at the photoshoot that you couldn’t be bothered to show up for) and that job is not to babysit YOU. Even if MCs are interested in pursuing G, V or G+V, they have to at some point see what a liability those two are or will be if they plan to keep protesting they’re innocent of the cheating allegations.
I’d love to as well. The beauty of fiction is experiencing things you wouldn’t normally experience in real life, but I don’t find G and V compelling enough to try. I hope to change my mind as the story progresses though because I really want to do a playthrough like that.
During the photoshoot, we already see Blake’s band mates a bit fed up with Blake’s antics, so maybe they don’t even believe those allegations are true but went along with them to get on the show and now they’re there they don’t care anymore.
I also think they would, but it would take a long while.
Same. I know G is our idol or whatever but once the MC met them in person I also wanted to have the option to go “this is the G Reign? Nah, I’m out.” and as you said, take some distance from them. You can have some inner monologue during the condo scene but you’re still going regardless of your feelings. Following V to their condo was super weird tbh (I did like the part in the coffee shop, though), it’s fine ig if you’re romancing them, fangirling or decide to play therapist in between songs, but I would also like the option to say no. It’s the same issues some people have with Seb and Maya and walking them to their hotel, that conversation can still happen in our hotel lobby without us following them. Some players simply don’t want to engage with them and others have said they (especially playing as a male mc) felt uncomfortable following an underage girl around even if her father is there.
tl:dr the option to say no more often would be appreciated.
It’s so refreshing to see people discuss less uhm rosy paths in a positive way! Like the homewrecker route would 100% not be my thing, but I’m glad to see people enjoying the possibility rather than bullying the author bc not in front of my christian salad oh no!
I’m not a fan of cheating, even in fiction, but still it could be entertaining if it won’t pull back on the whole “you’re doing something awful”, alas no asspulling or constant “your conscience is screaming at you bad bad bad!!”
If it’s gonna be an all in sort of situation, I could see myself making a specific MC only for that path. If only because you rarely get the option to be bad without being called out for it by the game lol
My MC didn’t remove it and openly displays it. He has a lot of tattoos, he has been getting them since his teens, so this isn’t the only questionable tattoo he has. He’s pretty chill about having and showing it, after all he still cares about Seven, so the tattoo does bring back some pleasant memories. And even if he ends things with Seven for good, he won’t hide the tattoo, because it’s part of his life’s journey, just like all his other tattoos.
Same. This is the reason why I mainly interested in romancing G (though my MC flirts with almost everyone). Imagine the press that MC will get after they cause the break up of a famous celebrity couple - I can already smell the drama!
On another topic, I’ve been thinking about this mysterious party that ruined our relationship with Seven. It will be cool if we get some sort of playable flashback, in which we can decide to some extent what our MC said/done. I know a lot of people here don’t want their MC to act out-of-character and to be too vile. As for me, I want to make sure my MC said/did something very messy.
